Some of the freshmen shows that premiered in 2019 did not get renewed for a second season. For instance, Grand Hotel was canceled after only one season. The finale was on September 9, 2019, and it left viewers wondering how the story would end. Therefore, fans of the show will have to come up with their own ending.

It is good news that Manifest on NBC was renewed for a second season even though there was a big drop in viewers. For example, the first episode had 10.4 million viewers. Episode 16 had only 5.36 viewers.

Season 1

The finale of Season 1 of Manifest was on February 18, 2019. It left viewers with unsolved mysteries. It has been almost a year since the supernatural drama television series went off the air. In the first season, Manifest answered some of the questions viewers had about the mystery of Montego Air Flight 828 from Jamaica to New York. However, the finale left viewers in the dark about many of the issues facing the passengers that were on the airplane.

Flight 828 was a routine flight with the exception of slight turbulent. The crew and passengers were relieved when it landed safely in only a few hours. They soon discovered that the world had aged five and a half years during their flight. Families, friends and colleagues had mourned their loss when it seemed like the plane had been lost forever. Some people had given up hope and moved on with their lives without those on the flight because they were assumed to be dead.

People on the flight have to deal with mysteries that are appearing all around them in addition to trying to pick up their lives as they once were. For instance, Ben finds out his wife Grace is pregnant. They don't know if the baby is Ben's or another man Grace has been seeing while Ben was thought to be dead. Michaela's fiancé Jared has married her best friend. Cal has not aged at all while his twin sister Olive is five and a half years older and has grown much taller.

What to Expect in Season 2

Season 2 of Manifest premieres on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10 PM to the delight of fans who have waited a long time for its return. Some things will be the same as they were in the first season such as the callings and hearing voices. Also, some things will be different.

Viewers will get a clearer picture of the mystery surrounding the missing plane. Even so, events will get a lot more complicated. Some people on the plane end up missing while some people not on the plane appear as if they had been on the plane.

One of the main focuses of Season 2 is a calculated date for those on the plane to die. Siblings Ben and Michaela Stone are driven to find a way to prevent the death date while still trying to solve the mystery of what happened to the plane to cause it to arrive at its destination five and a half years beyond its scheduled time.

New Characters

There will be plenty of new characters in Season 2. Someone new shows up in almost every episode. The new characters have a relationship with members of the main cast. They help to add more mystery to an already unsolved mystery. As you watch the second season, notice how the new characters impact the lives of those who are regulars on the show.

A friend of Olive named TJ is a new character in the series. TJ was on the plane but Olive wasn't. Even so, they do have a connection. Ben's ex-girlfriend appears and so does Saanvi's ex. He left her broken-hearted because he did not fly to Jamaica with her. What viewers will notice is that the new characters will bring more mysteries that have to be explained.
