Lin Zexu refused

Lin Zexu refused

Today I read the story "Lin Zexu refused to accept bribes", although very short, but I feel very deep. When it comes to honesty, we must think of Yu Chenglong as a clean official, Bao Qingtian as a fair and strict, Zhou Enlai as an example... They are the model of honesty, we learn from the example.

In 1820, Lin Zexu was appointed to supervise the history of Jiangnan in the 25th year of Jiaqing Dynasty. As soon as he rested in the Penghu Islands, a man who called himself a "florist" offered a potted rose and said he would ask Lord Lin to change it for a large potted flower. Lin Zexu knew something was wrong. He kicked over the flowerpot and found a red envelope in it. Inside was a golden mouse weighing half a jin and a piece of paper on which was written: "Lord Lin personally received, Zhang Bao presents." Lin Zexu confiscated the golden rat on the spot and handed it over to the state Treasury.

In the nineteenth year of Daoguang (1839), Lin Zexu went to Guangzhou to suppress opium. In May, a British business representative, Yilu, invited Lin Zexu to a banquet at his private residence and presented Lin with an exquisite square box: "Please accept our small greeting gift, your honor." Lin Zexu took it and opened it. On the red satin cushion lay a set of opium pipes: platinum pipe, autumn fish bone holder, diamond pipe, beside a dainty Kongmin lamp and a gold hairpin. They were dazzling and worth at least 100,000 pounds. Lin Zexu said, "Mr. Yilu, by the Emperor's decree, we have come to Guangzhou to clean up tobacco and poison. This set of cigarettes belongs to the contraband, should be confiscated, but the exchanges and friendship between the two countries are important, please bring the cigarettes back to your country, deposit in the royal museum as an exhibit!" Yi law was satirized to shame, had to take the gift back.

There are also some examples in our life: there is a classmate gave another classmate with good grades 5 yuan, let the classmate help him to write math homework, the classmate with good grades saw the money, regardless of the 37 twenty-one to help him do the homework, the result because the teacher suspected things were checked out, the classmate with good grades was removed from the position of the team committee. It seems that taking bribes is really not a good thing, it will lead to a lot of trouble, so we must be clear.

Honesty is a kind of wealth, is any gold, silver and jewelry can not be bought, honesty from a small start, start from me!

Two monks were passing through a village when they saw children torturing a poor kitten. They threw it into a pond and dragged it up by a rope around its neck until it was almost dead.

The monk said, Amitabha Buddha, standing with his palms clasped together. The young monk took out a few coins and bought the cat. The children snatched the money and ran away happily.

The young monk said happily, Master, saving a life is better than building a seven-rank pagoda. I saved a cat's life. Is that a good thing?

"You may not be able to save the cat's life," the monk said with his eyes closed.

The little monk took a closer look at the kitten, it closed its eyes, belly a drum a drum, nose constantly spouting water, water with blood.

The little monk could not help but shed tears and cried, Master, Master, you save the cat.

"There's nothing I can do," said the monk.

At this time, an old woman walked slowly and saw the cat on the ground. She raised her cane and hit the little monk, cursing, "Did you kill my cat?" How can a monk do such evil?

The little monk covered his head to argue, old man, I did not kill the cat, I saved the cat!

The old woman is even more angry, you also quibbling, the cat has died, you also say you saved!

The young monk called to Master and hid behind the old monk. The old monk did not argue, but chanted the sutra with his eyes closed.

The old woman's stick hit the old monk and stopped. "Look what a good apprentice you've taught," she scolds. Then he bent down to pick up the dead cat, whimpered, and walked away.

Young monk with the old monk back to the mountain, the heart is not calm, he asked the old monk, Master, I was wronged, how do you not say a word for me?

The old monk said coldly, is it useful to distinguish?

Maybe it doesn't work, the young monk said thoughtfully, but it's better to argue than not to argue at all. Those children are hateful, and the old woman is stupid. No good deed goes unrewarded.

The old monk said, wrong! Do things with nature, think it is a good thing to do, in order to let others appreciate, good is not a good thing.
