Kyle and Summer poised to become a power couple

In the 1980’s there were couples on daytime TV who were referred to as super couples. They overcame various obstacles to be together, had steamy love senes and the fans loved them. Among the most popular were Luke and Laura on General Hospital, and Bo and Hope on General Hospital. Today the soap operas don’t emphasize love, adventure and romance as they used to but that might be about to change. Victor and Nikki on The Young and the Restless are considered a power couple because of their standing in Genoa City. It looks like they may be soon observing a younger version of themselves due to recent situations. Now that Theo has been fired from Jabot and Lola is busy with two restaurants, fans of The Young and the Restless believe Kyle and Summer are poised to become a power couple.

The love story of these two goes back to childhood when her mom Phyllis was married to his dad Jack. At one point Jack believed Summer might have been his daughter instead of Nick Newman. As young adults when the two were contemplating dating the issue came up again. The Newmans and Abbotts were frantically trying to locate the couple and keep them from sleeping together. When Sharon admitted tampering with a DNA test, the truth was revealed that Summer indeed is Nick Newman's daughter, but more doubt was to come their way. Fortunately Skyle were never made aware of this last possible snafu because it got cleared up before they had to be told.

The third issue arose when Ashley made Jack believe John Abbott was not his biological father. There was a point when he suspected Victor or his father Albert Miller might be his biological dad. In time, Ashley admitted her fraud and Jack was deemed to truly be John’s son after all. At one point later on, Summer and Kyle almost went to bed together on a dare. This did not work out because Kyle backed out of the deal at the last moment. Unless I missed something I believe their first time together was actually on their honeymoon. During their hits and misses, Summer slept with Kyle’s uncle Billy and at that point he gave up on her. He moved on with a Lola who was a quiet, hard working, virgin. Summer realized what she had lost and went all out trying to get Kyle back and it worked.

Kyle and Summer are together in the bedroom as well as the boardroom and it looks like they will indeed emerge as a Genoa City power couple. Many viewers still wish Kyle and Lola would get back together, but that does not seem possible at this time. It’s not even looking like Theo will get his chance with the chef. Lola has been mentioning Miami and also visiting there quite a bit. Some fans think she will eventually end up moving back home, with or without Mr. Vanderway in tow. Kyle and Summer have everything in their corner starting with being the offspring of Genoa City royalty. Their grandfathers built two dynasties with Newman Enterprises and Jabot cosmetics. These two young people are poised to run the Abbott family legacy once Jack retires for good. They are now in a honeymoon phase but eventually they will have as much drama as Victor and Nikki.

Not long ago the couple said this was their time and that everything that had happened had led them to each other. Spoiler alerts have not indicated what the future holds for them but during the hiatus from taping, the writers may be building this duo to super couple status. Her grandparents, Victor and Nikki are the reigning king and queen of daytime. They have survived everything that has come their way for four decades. Skyle fans are delighted that this young couple is poised to follow in their foot. Once the divorce from Lola is finalized, Kyle and Summer will probably remarry and who knows, perhaps a baby may be in the works. This would be the beginning of a fourth generation where Newman and Abbott blood collide. Abby is the daughter of Victor and Ashley but she is basically ignored by her family. No one seems to take the naked heiress seriously, and her niece may get the respect she has been craving.

There always competition between Victor’s youngest child and her siblings. Summer’s older brother Daniel is out of town, and she does not seem to have issues with Noah. Her other siblings are young so she is in a lane to herself. Kyle and Summer are slowly growing on the residents of Genoa City and most believe they are destined to be together. They have no competition for Jabot as Ashley is in Paris and Traci is not interested. It looks like smooth sailing is ahead but this is the world of soaps. Early on some viewers thought Lola might be pregnant and Theo would pass the child off as his. As time goes on however, the chances of Lola being pregnant decrease. It's been a while since she was with her husband and nothing has happened between her and Theo. Continue tuning in to The Young and the Restless for classic episodes until taping resumes.
