The Young and the Restless spoilers tease shake ups after hiatus

Spoiler alerts can be spot on or they can be completely wrong, so viewers must take them with a grain of salt. At the end of 2019 Soaps She Knows reported that set insiders for The Young and the Restless said Josh Griffith and Jason Thompson were on their way out but both are still with the CBS daytime drama. The spoiler said the information came from a trusted source but it turned out to be accurate at least not yet. If Thompson had been about to be fired, it’s obvious there was a change of plans. His character went from an ugly downward spiral to suddenly becoming responsible, overnight. Billy walked away from Jabot, was out of work for a while, then took an out of town consulting job, where he conducted business by phone.

He previously had been dealing with disasoistive disorder, and hallucinating. He had a crazy look and was always chewing gum. Y&R viewers did not like this new version of John Abbott’s son and thought writers were making him unlikable so they could get rid of him. Jill has now hired her son along with Lily Ashby to work for the new Chancellor media division and it looks like bad Billy is gone. Out of nowhere, without mental health counseling or dealing with his issues head on, Billy Boy Abbott had a miracle. He abruptly discarded his gum chewing, trouble making alter ego who blacked out and could not recall his deeds. Victoria’s ex seems to have settled down and will be remaining in Genoa City for the long haul.

Either the trusted sources were wrong or the writers shifted direction once the information leaked. The earlier rumors about Griffith, however, are still flying. When he first took over as head writer, Griffith seemed to be righting some wrongs that took place when his predecessor Mal Young was in charge. Griffith brought back Paul,Kevin, Chloe, and Ashley. Mishael Morgan returned as a Hilary look alike and Christel Khalil is back as Lily. In addition Michael, Lauren, and Christine were all back on screen. It looked as if The Young and the Restless was poised to return to the glory day’s as Griffith promised. Once Chelsea came back to town, however, it seemed everything was revolving around her life with Adam.

The other characters who were brought back were pushed to the back burner again, except for Amanda Sinclair. Viewers were also angry when Cane left Genoa City after Daniel Goddard was abruptly fired, which added to the ire surrounding Josh Griffith’s vision for the show. Soap Dirt is suggesting there will several shake ups at the CBS soap that will come into play once the lockdown is over. Keep in mind this is mostly speculation but it’s often been said that where there is smoke there is fire. Supposedly fans are increasingly not pleased with the storylines that Josh Griffith has been bringing forth and the powers that be are going to ax him. The spoiler suggests that the down time will give the writers time to reacess what is working and what is not.

Josh Morrow has stated recently in interviews that he is not a fan of Nick and Phyllis and Soap Dirt teases that Chelsea may leave Adam for his brother. Earlier spoilers have said that Chelsea will stick by Adam as he deals with the news that he murdered a man when he was a child. It does not seem likely she would leave him at this particular time, but writers could be changing the narrative while on hiatus. Perhaps the prodigal begins showing signs that he is unbalanced and Chelsea flees with Conner out of fear for their safety. With all of this down time there is no telling how the writers may shift storylines. Now that viewers are watching entire weeks of classic episodes, the fans could forget details of what had been going on previously.

This would make it easier for the powers that be to shift things around. Some things that can be counted on are the fact that Kevin and Chloe’s son will be born and the entire truth will be revealed about what happened in Kansas. Some things that remain up in the air are the fates of Lola snd Theo. Rumors were flying a few weeks back that both Tyler Johnson and Sasha Calle will be fired. On screen, Theo told Mariah last week that he did not see a future in Genoa City. Lola continues to be off screen with the excuse she is in Miami taking care of business in her other restaurant. Many viewers believe these two characters will leave town together but again time will tell.
