Jason Thompson may be out as Billy Abbott

When Billy Miller was fired as Drew Cane on General Hospital, the rumor mill suggested he might go back to his role as Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless, and that Jason Thompson would reprise his character Patrick Drake on GH. This line of thinking came on the heels of Michelle Stafford, Britny Sarpy, and Elizabeth Hendrickson leaving their Port Charles characters behind and heading to Genoa City. There were also rumors that Gina Tognoni might join General Hospital as Nina but the role was given to Cynthia Wartros.

When Billy Abbott was out of commission a few months back, dealing with his demons, some fans thought that when he returned it would be Billy Miller in the role. This did not happen but eagle eyed viewers continue to keep their eyes on Jason Thompson's character. In Facebook groups, as well as comments on spoiler alert pages, discerning fans are continuing to say they feel the handwriting is on the wall for Thompson's version of Jill and John Abbott's son.

This is why rumor mill is at it once again suggesting that Jason Thompson is on his way out of The Young and the Restless. Celeb Dirty Laundry is reporting that Billy's dark side might return and his portrayer may be out of a job, right on the heels of Daniel Goddard who was fired as Cane Ashby. This is pure speculation but Goddard's character went through some major changes before he was written out of the CBS daytime drama and Jill's son is currently going through a metamorphosis as well.

There was the gum chewing Billy who had black outs and tried to run down Adam. Kevin and Chloe intervened and later Victoria assisted the father of her children. Billy went back to therapy and the character seemed to be on the road to recovery. Although things have improved somewhat, Victoria's "non husband" has been hot and cold with Kyle ever since Jack made them co-CEOs of Jabot. One moment he is offering empathy and sound advise to his nephew and the next he is picking a fight and calling Jack's son a novice. On Thursday's episode, Jack had to intervene between his son and his sibling when tension between them got out of hand.

Viewers did not like the dark, sinister, gum chewing Billy and were hoping he was gone for good. It looks like he may resurface considering the character seems a little off lately. If Jason Thompson did leave the CBS daytime drama, the next rumor that would most likely resurface will be that Billy Miller is going to replace him on The Young and the Restless. Celeb Dirty Laundry indicates that Miller, recently attended the premiere of his new Apple Tv show, If truth be told. The actor, however, has said nothing about his next project or about returning to the CBS daytime drama.

General Hospital fans are lamenting the fact that Drew Cane was presumed dead and seems to have all but been forgotten. His last scene was when he got into a hospital elevator and many viewers believed that the character deserved a much better send off as well as decent closure. Rumors regarding soap characters don't always pan out, but sometimes, where there is smoke, there is fire.

Those who enjoy The Young and the Restless should continue to tune in weekday afternoons on CBS at 12:30 PM EST. Fans suspecting something is up with Jason Thompson are going to to keep their radars on high alert because they have latched onto this rumor like a dog with a bone. They will not let until they obtain confirmation that Jason Thompson is not going anywhere or receive the news that he is leaving, and they perceived correctly all along, so stay tuned.
