It's not over! Toys still rule!

What I thought about Toy Story 5

Spoilers ahead: I will be discussing what happens in the film and how it ends. With that said, here we go.

Toy Story 5 had a very clear message about tech and how children are forgetting about toys. Tech is taking over, and toys are the ones getting left behind. Toys have always had an important role at every stage of a child's life, from teaching how to play with other children to providing toys that require more than one child to play with, which helps kids be social. Some toys teach kids how to follow directions to make the game more fun, and even how to use their imagination to create scenarios, which is one of the important ways toys can be useful.

Imagination plays an important role in a child’s life; they do this while playing with toys.

  • · Action Figures

  • · Dolls

  • · Stuffed animals

  • · Toy cars

And that’s just naming a few.

I notice this in every film in the Toy Story series: the toys act out every imaginative scenario their owners, Andy and Bonnie, create.

And let’s not forget Blaze and the other kids in the recent film.

The three kids imagine scenarios like:

  • · Stopping a bank robbery and having dinosaurs help save the day.

  • · A barrel of monkeys crawling like ants devouring everyone.

  • · Or having coffee or tea in Paris.

However, tech can do things toys can’t, such as offering multiple purposes through apps that help a child learn about colors and shapes across multiple stages, and games featuring popular characters from Disney and Marvel, as well as cute digital animals.

And it can help with digital interaction if the other child is in another country or state, or, more broadly, during the quarantine of the year 2020, technology did help everyone stay connected, work on projects, and go to school.

Unfortunately, sometimes with tech, people stay in one spot for hours, not socializing and just focusing on the screen, and many things get neglected, such as family time and getting exercise, such as going outside and getting the rays of sunshine that the human body does need. And how do children usually go outside? Plain and simple, they go to the park with a bunch of toys. Kids would run around and play with the toys. But with tech, yes, they can stay home, but it would cause health problems.

Such as a lack of movement can cause a lot of soreness in the ankles and kneecaps, and don't forget to mention that vision would get affected as well. True, technology is a big help in our everyday lives, but toys are also an important part in not just a child but also in adults as well, because having collectible toys from a certain era that the adult grew up in can be worth a lot of money, but they're also great conversation starters. So, instead of using your phone to avoid socializing sometimes, just bringing up stuff from the past, like an old toy you recall, can help break the conversation.

it can help socialize my point is don't give up on technology because sadly we do need it and as a writer I'll admit it I do rely a lot on technology when it comes to research and yes I do let my daughter use her tablet but only if I need her to stay busy while I'm trying to take care of the house and I'm pretty sure many mothers will agree that technology does help out in keeping kids entertained but I am thankful my daughter does play with toys such as building blocks or stuffed animals so what's your opinion do your kids still play with toys or do they love their tech.

One thing I do want to point out is that I was in a rage when I saw how the other girls treated Bonnie at a sleepover.

The girls made fun of her because she preferred playing with toys to using apps, as they did. As a mother, I experienced the same treatment as Bonnie did when the mean girls didn’t find her during hide-and-seek. And being ignored makes me angry. I truly felt the girls' parents needed to be spoken to; what was done to Bonnie wasn’t polite and was hurtful.
