Bo and Hope are done with Salem again

It seems like they just returned and now It's already over before it even began. Days of Our Lives fans who may have assumed that Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) would stick around Salem a while longer would be wrong. Alfonso has confirmed that she only signed on for what she thought would be about 5 episodes which turned into 15. Reckell has concurred that this latest stint is temporary. Details have not been given on how Bope will exist Salem but there will be some type of cliffhanger.

Once the popular duo leaves town there probably will not be a continuing role for Harriis Michaels (Steve Burton) who does not currently have any ties in Salem. The writers could always figure out a way to keep Michaels around but if they don't this will revive rumors that he may return to General Hospital as Jason Morgan.

Time on the soaps is different than real-time and one day can take an entire week. For this reason, it's not clear when Alfonso and Reckell will exit again but they have already wrapped up the taping of their episodes. and as of Friday have not even seen each other yet. Viewers will enjoy watching this storyline play out but Bo and Hope really don't have a place in the day-to-day life of Salem at this time. It would be difficult although not impossible to integrate the couple into the lives of current Salemites.

John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) have remained on the show in recent years as have Marybeth Evans (Kayla Brady Johnson) and Steve Johnson Stephen Nichols). As much as Bo and Hope's fans are enjoying the trips down memory lane the past cannot sustain the couple in today's Salem.

What comes next for Bo and Hope?

Alfonso has said that whenever the couple is around it's got to be exciting and romantic and that is not sustainable for the long haul. Reckell says they owed it to Days of Our Lives fans to bring closure to Bo waking up in the chamber on Beyond Salem. Some fans believe the only reason Alfonso and Reckell were asked back to do the Peacock series is that plans had already been made to shift the NBC daytime drama to the streaming service.

Unlike Beyond Salem the regular Days of Our Lives soap cannot focus exclusively on Bope and fans eagerly awaiting their episodes have to adjust to all the other storylines that are taking place in Salem getting equal time. Just when you get invested there might be a 2 or 3 -day delay before you see Bo and Hope again. On Friday Bo and Steve came face to face in Greece so things are getting pretty interesting. Hope and Harris are also in the same town so things will be winding up soon.

It will be great to see Peter Reckell and Kristen Alfonso together again even if only for a few episodes. What fans don't understand is why Bo's love for Hipe has not pulled him back to his senses and why she can't feel in her heart that he is alive? There are no specific details on what will take place to jog Bo's memories of Hope and right now he is nothing like his old self. Spoilers tease that Bo and Hope's exit will be epic and perhaps even another cliffhanger o fans know that he will regain his memory and his love for Fancy Face. Will they return to Salem again at a future date is anybody's guess. Days of Our Lives fans will have to stay tuned and be on the lookout for spoiler alerts, breaking news, and updates.
