Invented Marvel Characters: Dresser
Bringing my original comic characters to life with some apps and zero artistic ability

Growing up my dream job was to be a comic book artist/writer. But with very little artistic talent that dream died pretty quickly. Now I do my best to bring my characters to life using apps like factory of heroes, swordmaker, armormaker and you doodle. They don't always turn out looking very good but I get more excited about the concepts and stories behind the characters than how well I can make the character look good. Sometimes my characters are from cultures I am not a part of because I think it fits their story or other aspects about them. I am not a cultural expert but at the very least I hope no one is upset by me using aspects of cultures I'm not a part of and find interesting. That said below is my idea for Dresser, a Marvel vigilante who weaponizes his surgical skills.
Operating mostly out of Seattle, Jacob Nurse is a vigilante who targets violent offenders and villains. Jacob has extensive knowledge of anatomy, incredible dexterity and incredible coordination but it is unclear wether he is a mutant or not. Despite these traits, growing up poor and having violent tendancies hindered his desire to become a surgeon. Instead he works in a small veterinary clinic where over time he built enough credibility for staff to trust him to use his gifts to save animals who would not make it otherwise.
His talents also greatly assist his vigilante efforts. Due to his anotomical knowledge he works out hyper efficiently. Although his low income often hinders his nutrition he is more or less in peak physical condition most of the time. That paired with his coordination makes most small groups of unarmed enemies of little threat to Jacob. For more dangerous threats Jacob uses scalpels to even the odds. Despite using scalpels, Jacob's enemies are rarely killed. Fuellled by his ego in regards to his knowledge of human anatomy and his extreme dexterity he usually uses his surgical precision to endanger his targets instead of killing them outright. When he wounds his enemies he can bluff about the severity of the wounds to make opponents flee or (when the wounds are in fact life threatening) bandage victims in way that they will die if they continue to fight. The most common way Jacob does this is by slashing a wrist than bandaging it in a way that attaches the recipient to an immobile object like a dumpster. In these cases Jacob's enemies are stuck being attached to something or bleed out when they continue to attack him. Jacob acknowledges that his means seems brutal but misguided or not he genuinely believes he can traumatize his some of his foes into changing for the better. However the practice of using bandages has led the criminal underworld and news outlets to call Jacob the "Dresser" as to refer to someone who attends to his victims wounds. Annoyed by the moniker at first, Jacob eventually accepted it. This practice has also led to a rumour that Dresser has a "no kill rule". This is untrue. Dresser keeping enemies alive is driven by his need to show his medical prowess, his desire for his targets to change and his lack of intel on offences committed by specific henchmen. When his enemies' crime history is mostly non-violent or unknown to Dresser they will be given a chance to live but violent offenders (especially those who target women and/or children) who's histories are known to Dresser find out the hard way that Dresser believes that "monsters can't change".
Due to having heterochromia (a condition that gives someone different colored eyes) and the bloody nature of using scalpels most iterations of Dresser's costume has something covering/disguising his eyes.

His main costume is a long white doctors coat with a black layer under it and bandages covering most of his head, torso and fists. These bandages can be all sorts of colors but most often he uses bandages that are shades of white, grey, brown, green or tan.

The first time he dawned a "costume" it was largely the civilian clothes he had on the day (brown Jacket, blue pants) with a bandana and glasses hiding his face and white bandages in place of the shirt he was wearing when he got stabbed.

His killing and even his non fatal use of scalpels often puts him at odds with heroes. However he at times has teamed up with heroes like Daredevil. These instances were first initiated by Daredevil when missions are likely to have hostages that would benefit from Dresser's medical expertise but at times Dresser has reached out to Daredevil when feeling physically outmatched by a target. On these missions Dresser's bandages are usually a yellow-gold color and he shys away from using his scalpels on enemies. Instead he uses a pair of tonfas gifted to him by Daredevil. Since Dresser is used to blocking while unarmed but not with his scalpels tonfas were chosen as blocking with them is similar to blocking while unarmed. He's less effective with his tonfas than his scalpels but in these missions he is in more of a medic role for his allies and civilians.
In all cases Dresser tries dual weild or use both hands in combat so people don't know his real identity is left handed.
