Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Review

The moment has arrived. Both to address the end (to date) of the saga of the famous film archaeologist , and to reach his most controversial installment. Just in case someone is not a fan of the adventurer with the hat and the whip and does not know what I am referring to, I am referring to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and here I am telling you about it after a brief synopsis.

Dr. Henry "Indiana" Jones Jr (played by Harrison Ford ) is dragged to Area 51 by a Russian army regiment commanded by Colonel Irina Spalko ( Cate Blanchett ). There they look for a strange sarcophagus with magnetic properties. Indy barely manages to escape from the situation so that when he returns to Barnett University he learns of his dismissal on suspicion of being among the communist ranks. Coming to terms with the dire situation, he heads to New York to try his luck at Marshall University but runs into young Mutt ( Shia LaBeouf ). This one seems to know his friend of him Harold Oxley ( John Hurt) and claims that he disappeared looking for a rare crystal skull.

The graphic jump is quite remarkable in this movie . Not in vain, between this installment and the previous one there are almost 20 years of difference. Continuing with the visual section, it has held up quite well over time. Well, I don't want to make anyone feel too old, but this film is no less than 14 years old (at the time of writing these lines, of course) although we remember it as recent. The soundtrack could not be less than spectacular. And is that with John Williams in charge of her, nothing can go wrong.

The casting is great. We have Harrison Ford playing an old Indiana Jones making it equally believable, Cate Blanchett embroidering the role of the film's villain and the long-awaited return of Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood . Unfortunately, Shia LaBeouf is also in the cast , giving life to a character more insufferable than himself and, to add insult to injury, he is a co-star. In the direction we once again have Steven Spielberg on the script by George Lucas , although this time I don't quite connect with the story that they propose to us.The graphic jump is quite remarkable in this movie . And it is difficult to enter according to the concepts that are shown here. To be a little more specific, I am referring to some scenes that I feel are too exaggerated even for what we are used to seeing the character do. It's probably just me, but parts of the plot like the fridge, the fencing in the jeeps, or the waterfalls seem pretty out of date to me. Despite everything, it does not keep me from seeing an Indiana Jones adventure at all times with everything that usually accompanies it: frantic chases, betrayals, funny moments and emotional situations.

In short, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is considered the worst installment in the saga for many obvious reasons, but I can't stop enjoying it as the light-hearted adventure that it is. It is not as aberration as many say, at least for my taste.
