In the book with…..

In the book with… is a company that specialises in personalised books for kids, for adults and for anyone and everyone who loves to read. They contacted me and wanted me to do a review of what they offer and I have to admit, it’s one of those rare perks that I absolutely adore. Now if you love sports they have books you can get on your favourite sports teams but I’m here to talk about the kids books.

The kids books have a whole range of topics which include Disney, pets, Marvel Comics and oh so much more. The range of books available from bedtime story reading, by the adult or babysitter through teenagers means that all age ranges and reading levels are covered. Now they were nice enough to send me one with my name in it and I have to say it’s a beautiful, beautiful book. It’s huge, oversized hardcover, comes with six stories and at the top of each page says Especially for Steven.

There is an introduction to the book where Peter Parker talks to Steven and gets him ready for the adventures to follow. It is extremely well done. I wish there was a credits page to tell us who wrote and illustrated it, I'd love to have it signed by the artist. It very much feels like it is along the animated line of illustration and it’s bold and vibrant so it easily grabs the reader and for a kid, or a big kid heh, it’s exciting to see something of this magnitude and scope of the book itself.

The stories are wonderfully complete. Spidey’s origin is told, a Black Widow story, an Avengers story, one that features Mysterio, Miles Morales and the Lizard. Each story ranges from ten to twenty something pages so it’s not a short story as we know them in traditional comics. So it’s got a great page count to the book. It's over a hundred pages and the quality of the paper is fantastic.

I mentioned the interiors earlier and they are extremely nice to see. The linework is phenomenal and how we see the varying weights and techniques being utilised to create the detail within the work we see and it’s exceptionally well rendered. I love what we see throughout the book as the visuals really are stunning. Each page has what we usually call illustrations, like in any kids book, and yet they still manage to convey movement and emotions so they are extremely elevated in my humble opinion.

Each vignette is a complete story and it has a beginning, middle and ending and they all feel so naturally done. Anyone and everyone regardless of age is going to get a kick out of these and the great part except for the origin story, these I have never seen in comics before so they come as original tales specifically for these books. Each story has familiar faces in them and are age appropriate which is surprisingly easy to see come across.

The prices for these are affordable and make a great Birthday, Christmas, Hanukkah or whatever reason you need a gift. The personalisation doesn’t stop at just having the name on it, there’s an option to put a photograph on the last page as well. Think of the car rides you can go on where a child has a book like this to read or simply look through and have fun with it while being so absorbed and quiet that you barely remember they are there. My folks would’ve gotten a ton of these for quiet car rides when I was a kid.

I think you should check 'em out, here’s where you can https://www.inthebook.com/en-us/ and do some holiday shopping for the hard to shop for on your list or for things like stocking stuffers, though they are large for that, or whatnot. They are great for any occasion and with the holidays coming up they make great personalised gifts that will excite folks of any age and gender.
