IF JOKER WASN'T nominated THE OSCARS ARE DONE

The greatest fake scandal of the century

Earlier this year, a widespread scandal of lies and false assumptions was whirling around the media/internet with a frenzy, this was the notion that the upcoming film by director Todd Philps "JOKER" depicting the clown prince of crime was a dangerous film and might inspire mass shootings or violence/impersonators of the character depicted in the film.

Because of this scandal, the Academy Award Committee Members had been extremely reluctant to even watch the Joker because of the controversy that was standing on no logical ground and was just stirred up by the mainstream media and turned the whole affair into one of fearmongering and false claims. Joaquin Phoenix turns out an oscar worthy preforms and has gained a passionate fan base toward his performance and the movie.

What's problematic is that critics that caused all this fearmongering judged the movie before they even had seen the film based on its worst possible interpretation, the media is pushing on the world this interpretation and then encouraging others to do the same. They were not angry at the movie's substance, they're yelling at the two trailers that came out earlier this year.

Certain critics have given the movie a much-deserved Masterpiece rating (IGN). And most of the public has the same unanimous opinion the movie is fantastic, and that the media was being petty.

Many people had said before they announced the nominees for the Oscars this week, that they would boycott the Oscars if they didn't nominate the Film for at least Best Picture and Best Actor. With the recent record-low ratings for the Oscars in recent years for a variety of reasons, It's interesting to think if the show would be completely erased by people in disbelief of this movie not being nominated. It deserves to be up there, and the academy showed that this week by giving Joker 11 nominations, the most of all of the films in the award show. A true showing of what this films true contents are and not what the media portrayed.

Joker is nominated at the 92nd annual Oscars for:

1. Best picture

2. Best actor (Joaquin Phoenix )

3. Best director (Todd philips)

4. Best score (Hildur Guðnadóttir)

5. Best adapted screenplay (Todd Phillips and Scott Silver)

6. Best cinematography (Lawrence Sher)

7. Best costume design (Mark Bridges)

8. Best sound mixing (Tom Ozanich, Dean Zupancic and Tod Maitland)

9. Best editing (Jeff Groth)

10. Best make up and hair (Nicki Ledermann and Kay Georgiou)

11. Best sound editing (Alan Robert Murray)

THAT’S A LOT OF NOMINATIONS! WOW!

JOKER REVIEW HIGHLIGHTS:

“Led by Phoenix's ferocious, feral performance, this especially dark, gritty comic book movie is a character drama that's drawn more toward real-world troubles than to capes and crusading.”

-Jeffrey M. Anderson

From Common Sense Media

Featuring a riveting, fully realized, and Oscar-worthy performance by Joaquin Phoenix, Joker would work just as well as an engrossing character study without any of its DC Comics trappings; that it just so happens to be a brilliant Batman-universe movie is icing on the Batfan cake. You will likely leave Joker feeling like I did: unsettled and ready to debate the film for years to come

- Jim Vejvoda

10/10 from IGN

…the most radical film to come from a major studio since Fight Club.

- CHRIS GORE

10/10 from Film Threat

Repellently violent, intimately epic and powered by a performance so absorbed, hurt, confused and just “out there” that it makes everything that’s come before it in the genre just a vamp in tights, “Joker” turns every previous film in this justly maligned genre into “just a cartoon.”

Damn. There’s an Oscar in this.
