A monstrous Chaos Beast threatens fearful desert villagers and engages Kratos, forcing him back into battle! But despite his desire to escape his violent past, Kratos is thrust back into a familiar state of rage and fury, setting off a chain reaction of unending anger for the Ghost of Sparta. As he plunges the Blades of Chaos into the wicked beast, Kratos wonders if he is the true monster of the battle . . .

To be honest I really figured this Chaos Beast to be Sobek considering where he was when it attacked regardless however is that it’s one of those incredible beasts that makes for some extremely exciting reading. It is just horrific enough and just interesting enough to have that combination which excites the reader while engaging their mind and imagination. Of course this is park of Kratos’ immortal torment though, traversing the world fighting fantastical beasts seemingly without an end in sight. After all there was an end in sight then we wouldn’t have the kind of stories we’re getting now.

I am fan of the way that this is being told. The story & plot development that we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is presented exceptionally well. The character development is interesting to me and while we know he’s angry it’s also kind of done with this weird sense of humour to it that makes me laugh the angrier he gets. I don’t know what it is about the ridiculousness of the situation that does this to me but it’s there. The pacing is superb and as it takes us through the pages revealing the twists & turns along the way we get pulled into this deeper and deeper with everything we see going down.

I like the way we see this being structured and how the layers within the story continue to grow, strengthen and evolve as the story changes. The way that we see things happen one after another and fast that happens keeps the excitement levels extremely high and it has this effect on the reader where the eyes widen in disbelief and it’s glorious! How everything works together to create the story’s ebb & flow and how we see it move the story forward is achieved beautifully.

The interiors here are absolutely gorgeous! I mean the linework is phenomenal and how we see the varying weights and techniques being utilised to create this level and quality to the detail work we see is astonishing. The creatures and the creativity and imagination that we see in bringing them to life is mindbogglignly brilliant! It totally makes up for not seeing backgrounds utilised as often as I’d like them to be. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a remarkable eye for storytelling. The colour work is simply divine. How we see the various hues and tones within the colours being utilised to create the shading, highlights and shadow work really showcases someone who understand how colour works. That three quarters page panel with it rising up from the water is one of the most amazing images that we are going to see and the colour work is what makes this as spectacular as it is.

If you are like me and don’t play video games this still holds more than enough appeal to thrill and entertain readers without ever having to have played the game. I don’t need to know anything about the game because these arcs explain everything we need to know. Each arc is new reader friendly and will make you an instant fan of the character and his adventures.

Great comic. It made me want to play. Fortunately, one of the parts is available on PC. The price in this store is great, so if anyone hasn't played it yet, I highly recommend it: https://royalcdkeys.com/products/god-of-war-steam-cd-key
