Gen V

Ep. 7

We are rounding to a close on the first season of Gen V and it has been a well paced rollercoaster. I am very invested in this show. The younger characters are written very well and are easy to connect to. I like seeing the younger generation get a handle on their powers and struggle with their morality before they are grown up and Vought pushes them into the spotlight. When we last left off in episode 6 with our group now popped back into the real world and out of Cate’s mind. Our latest plot development is that the virus that The Woods has been producing and testing on Supes isn’t really about controlling them or even making them sick, it's about killing them. Dean Sheddy is hoping this virus can be made contagious to theoretically eradicate the Supes from the world. I don’t think I’m reaching in saying that we can probably expect another death before the end of the season.

Sheddy tries to move her plan up to the government agent that is normally helping Butcher but instead she has someone keep an eye on Sheddy. She is trying to avenge her family who died in the plane crash that Homelander left a bunch of civilians to die in.

Sam and Emma are trying to clean up after Sam and his little slaughter fest. But Sam doesn’t follow Emma’s instructions and ends up partying with a bunch of kids in the hallway and then going to a secondary location.

Polarity comes down with what I was assuming was this virus that they created, which also caused his powers to be all uncontrolled.

Neumann…who we already know from The Boys is at the university talking about “superhero rights”. Just like The Boys, Gen V is making a commentary on the entire political system and how bs it all is. Neither side is fighting for anything but their own interest, there is no “for both sides”.

Cate gets to finally confront Dean Sheddy and Sheddy continues to try and manipulate her. And little, sad, broken Cate falls for her bullshit.

Neuman and Marie have a little bonding moment over their powers and Marie tells her about The Woods. Now as a Supe I don’t think Neuman wants a virus that kills supes to be airborne so I believe she’ll handle it, it just might not be in the complete way that these kids want.

Okay prediction time for this final episode; Cate is the one who dies in the final episode. We also seem to be gearing up for an all out war between the supes and the humans. There are now only a few vials of this supe killing virus and Neuman is in control of them. So either she will decide which supes she wants to kill or she’s gonna sit on this for a while and possibly sell it to Vought. I am sure we will see it pop up in season 4 of The Boys, I don’t think the virus storyline is going to get wrapped up in the final episode of Gen V.

From what we know as of right now this season of Gen V leads right into season 4 of The Boys, which will lead right into season 2 of Gen V. So we know what the timeline is and we know that we are getting a second season of this amazing TV show. We really won’t know the full scope of what will play in season 4 of The Boys until after the next episode. But we know that there will be some kind of impact from this show.
