Gavin Houston returns to General Hospital

Soaps in Depth is reporting that a familiar face to the world of daytime television is returning to General Hospital. Actor Gavin Houston who played Jeffrey Harrington on The Haves and Have Nots will be back in Port Charles as Zeke Robinson the brother of Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr). Houston let the good news slip during an interview about his career with WJBF Digital. When asked about his recent appearance on the ABC soap, the actor replied: “I’m still on GH, actually. I go back to playing Zeke for this meaty storyline" but he gave no hint of what it will be.

Zeke only appeared in a few General Hospital episodes with Portia and their father Dr. Sterling Robinson, (Ricco Ross) when his sibling was marrying Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) Spoilers tease that this time around he might not be involved in such a happy event, and Houston’s “meaty storyline” may be related to the fallout after Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) receives the results of her DNA testing.

Why is Zeke coming back to Port Charles?

Houston said he would show up in about 2 weeks so he could be part of his sister's plan to break up Trina and Spencer Cassadine (Nikolas Chaves).HAHN fans were excited to Houston on the screen again and have been saying they hoped he would return as Zeke to visit Portia. Now it looks like they will be getting their wish.

Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) already told his ex-wife that she cannot tell their daughter what to do and that if she keeps bad-mouthing Spencer she will push Trina away. Portia might also confide in Curtis and be stunned when he sticks up for Spencer because he saw firsthand how he was willing to sacrifice his life for Trina. Portia is not going to want to hear this and may enlist her brother in a plan to keep Spencer and Trina apart. Dr. Robinson has already said she is concerned that Trina right end up helping Spencer raise baby Ace (Jay and Joey Clay).

Houston's big break came when he made his daytime debut on the CBS soap Guiding Light in 2002 as Remy Boudreau. In 2010 he made his first appearance on General Hospital as Sly Thomas, a CSI tech assisting Mac Scorpio (John J York). The actor said he is honored to be appearing on the ABC soap0 again during the 60th anniversary.“

Soaps were such a big thing, growing up,” he said. “Going through all of this where a lot of soaps, including GL, have been canceled, it was great to be a part of that achievement for them. GH was this big thing, and I was like, ‘Wow, they’re so lucky. It must be amazing to work on that show.’ And then here I am, a part of that show. So it’s really a blessing.”
