'Game Of Thrones': Will Drogon Reveal Jon Snow's Targaryen Blood?
Jon Snow's first interaction with Drogon could be the moment when characters starts to wonder if Jon has Targaryen blood.
Game of Thrones has been picking up the pace this season, and it appears that "Eastwatch" will give Jon Snow his first face-to-face meeting with Daenerys's dragon, Drogon. While fans eagerly await Jon's very first encounter with the fiery beast, a fan theory now predicts that the meeting could be one of Season 7's most revealing moments. In fact, Jon Snow's first interaction with Drogon could be the moment when characters starts to wonder if Jon has Targaryen blood.
Will Jon's lineage become suspicious to Daenerys in "Eastwatch"?
After the teaser trailer for "Eastwatch" was released, many fans took to social media to examine what might be in store for the upcoming episode. Redditor LtRavs pointed out that if Drogon meets Jon Snow, there's a chance their interaction could give Daenerys reason to suspect that there's more to Jon Snow than meets the eye.
"I feel like that will be the first big moment where Dany realizes something is up with Jon, Drogon perhaps acting submissive or something like that to indicate he's special in some way."
The theory stems from a vision Daenerys experienced with Quaithe (who we met briefly in Season 2), a shadowbinder from Asshai. During this brief interaction, Quaithe told the Mother of Dragons that her 'children' are fully aware of her Targaryen blood.
"Remember who you are, Daenerys. The dragons know. Do you?"
In short, the Targaryens have always laid claim to controlling dragons, so it would make sense for Drogon to recognize Jon's significance.
Have we seen this before?
The way dragons "know" a Targaryen also somewhat reinforces the popular theory that Tyrion is a Targaryen bastard. The theory suggests that Tyrion's mother, Joanna, was taken to bed by the Mad King after she had been married to Tywin. With this in mind, some fans believe that Tywin was being literal when he said "You are no son of mine."
When Tyrion approaches the dragons as they're shackled in chains, they seem (relatively) submissive to him. If this turns out to be true, it could set of a chain of events that bring about the prophetic three-headed dragon theory where Daenerys, Jon and Tyrion each mount a dragon and reestablish the Targaryen dynasty.
The question is, how would Daenerys react to this revelation? To her knowledge, she is the only one alive who can 'tame' a dragon. Technically, Jon has a stronger claim to the Iron Throne as the son of Rhaegar Targaryen, which would be a hard knock to the Breaker of Chains.
