Don’t have a good day. Have a great day!

Free Guy was released to theaters in 2021. Based in the video game world, Guy, a bank teller, learns that he is a background character in a popular game. Becoming the talk amongst the game world, Guy changes the rules and his lifestyle.

Surprisingly, I liked Free Guy more than I thought I would. Despite being unfamiliar with the video game world, I had a good time seeing it in theaters. Free Guy is fun, comedic, and examines how people should not base their life on status.

Ryan Reynolds has the time of his life as the exuberant, happy, and cheerful Guy. Reynolds had all of the best one-liners and comedic timing. Figuring out who he really is, Guy becomes one of the most popular video game characters. In some ways, Guy’s role is a message that we should be happy with our positions in life.

The ensemble of Free Guy is unforgettable. Lil Rel Howery always finds heart in his characters. The friendship between Guy and Buddy is sweet. Howery is always wonderful at playing the supportive best friend.

Some well-known faces pop up in Free Guy. Free Guy is a mix between drama and comedy. The cast successfully distributed both in their performances.

Stranger Things fans will recognize Joe Keery. Keery does an excellent job delivering comedy. After seeing his portrayal as Hitler in Jojo Rabbit, expect another memorable appearance by Taika Waititi. And Jodie Comer did a noteworthy job performing two contrasting personas.

As I have stated, the ensemble has an important duty. Nobody ever has a small part. Even in video games. Every role is important. Whether you’re the barista, a man who is always on alert, or a person with a significant line, you matter. Being in the background, or in other words, in the ensemble, is a huge responsibility.

The set-up, special effects, and interpretation of the video game world was the most impressive features directed by Shawn Levy. Filmmakers did an amazing job making a realistic video game world. It’s clear that they studied video game culture, hitting the mark.

Since I am not knowledgeable of video game culture, I was confused and didn’t catch some of the references, but that is only on my part. It was cool to learn more about the video game world, especially iconic individuals.

My friend who I went to see this movie with had to tell me what most of the references meant. Seeing this film with video game fans present in the theater is what made my experience worthwhile. We all have different likes and interests. This is why we should be open to investing in others’ hobbies and interests. You never know what you’ll learn.

I always enjoy films which explore new worlds that you would never think about. At first, I was a bit confused about what was happening, but eventually, I understood the structure. Filmmakers and all who were involved had a fun time working on this film.

Free Guy is hilarious. There were times when I was laughing out loud in the theater. It’s all about comedic timing which the cast succeeded in.

You matter. Everyone matters. We can be whoever we want to be. Don’t let anyone put you down about your placement in life. Live your best life and be happy for who you are.

Video game lovers are going to enjoy Free Guy. The atmosphere in the theater was filled with excitement. I will never forget the experience. Free Guy was excellent and it provides the laughs that you need.
