You’re in for one of the craziest Friday’s of your life.

Freaky Friday is a 2003 remake of the original film that was first released in 1976. A mother and daughter constantly at battle end up switching bodies. On the craziest Friday of their life, this is the ultimate chance to see what life is like from a different perspective.

I still remember going to the movies to see Freaky Friday. I couldn’t stop laughing when Anna and Tess changed bodies for the first time. Freaky Friday is a movie for all mothers and daughters. I always enjoy watching this movie whenever it is on. The message is strong, and it actually makes me tear up.

Lindsay Lohan is outstanding. She remarkably changes herself from a rebel teenager into a mature adult trapped inside a teenager. Acting is all about taking risks. Lohan is very expressive. She explores two sides of Anna. Obviously holding onto pain, Anna struggles to live her life, running away from the people who can help her.

Being a teenager is not easy. Jaime Lee Curtis had to return to her life as a teenager after switching bodies with Anna. At times, I feel like Curtis overdid it a bit. Otherwise, she was great exploring how tough the life of an adult is. The film also gave Curtis a chance to show her comedic side which is not shown enough.

Parents are always learning from their kids. Curtis and Lohan worked endlessly to create a genuine bond. I could tell that they were having fun together. The relationship between a mother and daughter is complex. Throughout the movie, Anna and Tess learn to understand.

Freaky Friday includes an ensemble of talented actors. Mark Harmon, Harold Gould, Chad Michael Murray, Stephen Tobolowsky, Christina Vidal, Haley Hudson, Ryan Malgarini, Rosalind Chao, Lucille Soong, and Willie Garson were all outstanding. Watch closely and there is a surprise cameo from someone who appeared in the original Freaky Friday.

There is not just one story going on in Freaky Friday. Anna and Tess’s story is the main focus, but filmmakers concentrate on all of the characters, even minor ones.

As the step-dad to be, Ryan (Harmon) explores an important territory. My favorite scene that I always enjoy watching is when Anna discovers how her brother feels about her. It’s a short scene, but it has a big impact.

One subplot that flew over my head as a child, was Jake’s character. As the love interest, Jake sprouts feelings that you wouldn’t typically see in a kid’s movie. Was his subplot necessary?

Get ready music lovers. Freaky Friday is packed with a solid performance. Lohan and her fellow cast members do an incredible job with the song ‘Take Me Away.’ This is another song that I like to look up on Youtube and mimic the words.

Mark Waters gave Freaky Friday an upgrade that was needed from the original. Compared to the 1976 classic, the most recent version showcases elements and characters in a batter light. His attention to detail and character met with remarkable results. Waters gave everyone a chance to shine their talents.

Freaky Friday is a delightful movie. It is emotional. For any families who are struggling, they should watch Freaky Friday. Nobody is ever alone. It is packed with hilarious scenes, proving to be the ultimate acting challenge. Just take a look at the bloopers.

I will never get tired of Freaky Friday. On those nights where mothers and daughters have nothing to do, put in Freaky Friday. Just be careful that you don’t end up switching bodies.
