Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what life will hand you.

Forrest Gump was released to theaters in 1994. Forrest Gump has good intentions. Growing up and living through events like the Vietnam War, Forrest has a unique way of viewing the world. Promising his mother to live his best life, Forrest inspires people with words of wisdom.

Forrest Gump is a story about change. It reflects the world from a different perspective. Ever since its release, Forrest Gump left a mark on the film world. Detailing world events from a creative viewpoint, I always enjoy watching this film.

Tom Hank’s provocative and deep performance as Forrest Gump won him a well-deserved Oscar. Forrest has a different way of looking at the world compared to others. He is endearing and looks out for everyone, even if they are a stranger. His life is not simple. Hanks distributed a heartfelt performance, helping people think positively.

Forrest Gump has an ensemble of talented individuals. It’s a character film. Sally Field did a wonderful job in her performance as Forrest’s mother. No matter what, your mother will always be here for you.

Forrest’s interactions with every character are integral. I like the way the film studies the interactions between characters. You never know who will change you for the better. That’s what I liked about Forrest’s scenes with Lieutenant Dan (Gary Sinise). Sinise studied the emotional journey of his character proving to those who are in his situation that you can keep on living.

Credits also go to Robin Wright, Michael Conner Humphreys, Mykelti Williamson, along the debut of Haley Joel Osment. Ensemble members have a huge role in Forrest Gump. Every role is memorable. There are even a few surprises.

Audiences have had mixed opinions about Jenny (Wright). One of the best features in Forrest Gump is subtlety. This movie would be very different from other perspectives. Wright adapted the nature of her character, proving that change is real.

Robert Zemeckis focused profoundly on the characters. He wanted audiences to relate. His use of symbolism was used to the highest quality. Zemeckis had fun with the film. He deserves applause for filming tough world events in the highest respect without putting them in a negative light.

He chose location spots that had significance during specific time periods. Our world has changed a lot. Real-life Vietnam veterans claimed that the Vietnam scenes were uncannily real to the actual events that occurred. That proves that Zemeckis looked out for not only his cast and crew, but he thought about the audience. Audience reaction is everything to the film world.

The editing process earns a shoutout. Editors had a fun time editing Hanks into real footage that was watched all across the world when they happened. Filmmakers weaved together a simple story that has more meaning than you think. It’s a snippet of life.

Some of the best lines transpire from Forrest Gump. Now, whenever you play ping pong you’re going to think of this movie. The park bench that Forrest Gump sat on has become a historical landmark. It sits in a museum so it won’t get destroyed or stolen.

Fair warning that Forrest Gump is an emotional film. It includes mature themes. Life is like a box of chocolates. Life’s challenges may not be easy, but it all depends on how you choose to view them. The past will hurt, but we cannot ignore that it happened.

If you have not watched Forrest Gump, it is a wonderful film for its time. I recommend that you watch this evocative film.
