There is not a single soul on the planet who has not yet heard of Avengers: Endgame. This is one of the most anticipated films of 2019, and people all over the nation have been theorizing like hell about what's gonna happen, who's gonna die, and how this is all gonna end.

But what if you haven't seen any of the Marvel movies? What if you want to join the hype and see Endgame in theaters, but when it comes to Marvel, you just don't know anything about it?

Well, first, if you haven't seen the Marvel movies yet, I have two things to say: 1) how dare you? and 2) if you're planning a Marvel movie binge leading up to Endgame, please consider watching the films in the Spaghetti Order, which connects all of the films together through after-credits scenes.

Now, if you want to get in on the hype and you don't have the time to binge every single Marvel movie leading up to Endgame, I still have you covered. This is all of the information you need to know before Endgame, summarized and condensed in layman's terms.

Spoilers Ahead for, 'Avengers: Age of Ultron,' and 'Avengers: Infinity War.'

We begin with the Infinity Stones. The Infinity Stones are powerful gems that can be used to destroy millions of people in the wrong hands.

There are six Infinity Stones: the yellow Mind Stone, the blue Space Stone, the green Time Stone, the red Reality Stone, the orange Soul Stone, and the purple Power Stone.

This is the Mind Stone. Whoever wields it can use it to control the minds of other people. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Stark (a.k.a. Iron Man) and Bruce Banner (a.k.a. Hulk) use the Mind Stone to create Vision, a superhero synthesized from artificial intelligence.

The Mind Stone resides in Vision's forehead and he cannot live without the Mind Stone.

Next, we have the Space Stone, which spends most of its time in the Marvel universe sitting inside the Tesseract, which is this powerful blue space cube that possesses unlimited energy. The Tesseract is held on Thor's home planet of Asgard.

There is also the Time Stone, which allows its user to reverse or fast-forward time. Its user can also use it to see the future. Doctor Strange uses the Time Stone as a tool/weapon.

That's Doctor Strange, a.k.a. Sherlock. No, the other Sherlock.

We then have the Reality Stone, which allows the user to manipulate matter. In Thor: The Dark World, the Reality Stone was used to create a weapon called the Aether. The people of Asgard gave the Aether to a man called the Collector for safekeeping.

The Collector is this white-haired fool portrayed by Benicio del Toro.

The Soul Stone is... well, it's not really in any of the movies nor do we really know what it does. But all you need to know is that it is being held on a planet called Vormir.

And the Power Stone gives the user great power. Like really great power. If you touch the Power Stone, you're probably gonna die—which sucks—but anyways... the Power Stone is held by the Nova Corps Headquarters.

Okay, so those are the six Infinity Stones. Not too hard, right? One's in a forehead, one's on Asgard, one's on Vormir, one's in the Nova Corps, one's held by the Collector, and one's held by Doctor Strange.

Now, let's get into my favorite Marvel villain...well, hopefully, we're not going INTO him. We're not Ant-Man. Let's just...talk about Thanos.

Thanos grew up on a planet called Titan. Over time, Titan became overpopulated, and Thanos made a suggestion: kill half of the citizens of Titan, completely at random, in order to have enough resources for everyone.

His idea was dismissed, and Titan fell, with most of the people there going extinct. Because of this, Thanos started to go around to other planets to enact his old plan, to stop them from reaching overpopulation. During his invasions, he adopted two daughters: Gamora and Nebula.

That is Gamora.

That is Nebula.

Eventually, in order to quicken the process of balancing life throughout the universe, Thanos decided to collect the Infinity Stones. He planned to put all of the Infinity Stones in his Infinity Gauntlet, which would allow him to wipe out half of all life in the universe with just a snap of his fingers.

That's the Infinity Gauntlet on Thanos's hand.

First, Thanos stole the Power Stone from the Nova Corps. Then, he attacked an Asgardian ship and forced Loki to give him the Tesseract, which he destroyed and extracted the Space Stone from. Thanos was then in possession of the Power Stone and the Space Stone.

Thanos then receives the Reality Stone from the Collector. He forces Gamora to reveal the location of the Soul Stone. Thanos and Gamora go to Vormir, where the Soul Stone is.

He discovers that in order to receive the Soul Stone, he must sacrifice what he loved most. Essentially, it was "a soul for a soul" kind of trade. Thanos then threw Gamora off a cliff, killing her. He then received the Soul Stone. Four down, two to go.

Next, Thanos needed the Time Stone, which Doctor Strange had, and the Mind Stone, which Vision had. Thanos threatens to kill Iron Man if Doctor Strange does not hand over the Time Stone, and Doctor Strange gives it to him.

All Thanos needs now, is the Mind Stone. He finds Vision, and rips it out of Vision's head. Thanos now has all six Infinity Stones. Thor makes one last attempt to kill Thanos, but fails, and Thanos snaps his fingers.

Half of all life on Earth disintegrates. A majority of our heroes die, including Black Panther, Scarlett Witch, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Falcon, and most of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The remaining heroes mourn their losses, and Thanos escapes, watching the sunrise on another planet.

Now, here are the remaining heroes who are alive and who we'll be following in Endgame. Just in case you're unfamiliar with them.

Iron Man (a.k.a. Tony Stark)

A self-described "billionaire, genius, playboy, philanthropist." He's got a badass suit and he can blast people with his hands.

Captain America (a.k.a. Steve Rogers)

He's just a kid from Brooklyn. Cap went under an experiment during World War II, which makes him incredibly strong, great at fighting, and his bulletproof physics-defying shield helps him out as well.

Hulk (a.k.a. Bruce Banner)

He started out as a scientist. But eventually, he was the subject of a gamma radiation experiment designed to replicate Captain America's experiment. Now, whenever his heart rate goes over 200 bpm, he becomes a giant green monster. You'll like him when he's angry.

Thor

He's the son of Odin, and the god of lightning. He can control lightning, and he wields an axe called the Stormbreaker.

Ronin (a.k.a. Clint Barton)

Once known as Hawkeye, in this movie, Clint Barton has ditched the bows and arrows and is now using a sword. Can't wait to see him again.

Black Widow (a.k.a. Natasha Romanoff)

She doesn't have powers, but she's great at kicking ass.

Captain Marvel (a.k.a. Carol Danvers)

She got her powers in an explosion and now, she has a set of powers that allows her to fly through space, kick ass, and fight bad guys.

Ant-Man (a.k.a. Scott Lang)

Once a petty thief, Scott Lang is now Ant-Man, who can transform down to the size of an ant, but can also make other things, including himself, bigger or smaller.

Imagine if Ant-Man actually flew up Thanos's asshole. That'd be hilarious.

War Machine (a.k.a. James Rhodes)

Iron Man's sidekick. That's all you need to know.

And... that should be everything. Thank you so much for reading, and when you can, watch the Marvel movies. They're great.

'Avengers: Endgame' comes out this Friday, April 26th.
