Doomsday Excitement Exploded Through The Roof
Today's the biggest day in the buildup so far.

The Doomsday countdown is heating up as the clock ticks closer and closer to the arrival of Doom!
Avengers and Marvel fans are getting pumped for the release of Avengers: Doomsday and the return of most of the original gang. This includes Robert Downey Jr. returning in a titular role as Doom. But what little has been leaked and what few details have been confirmed are nothing compared to the excitement since the official trailer release. And oh, my God, what we have coming our way looks incredible, if not still mysterious.
Let's break down the trailer and see what they've decided to show us first.
In the opening sequence, we see the fallen remnants of the Xavier School for Mutants, and Patrick Stewart's return as Charles Xavier.
"Something's coming. Something we may not be able to deter."
The ominousness of that statement alone is a great hook, but enough has been revealed already that tells us DOOM is going to be one of the Avengers' greatest challenges. The narrative continues by promising:
Before this day is done, we shall be faced with an unthinkable decision.

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is back, and he takes over the narration as the trailer continues. We see the overhead view of New York, and the Avengers Tower (Former Stark Tower) in the center of the city. Things have changed in the world since Endgame, and the large Avengers A is much more pronounced.
The trailer really does a good job of covering the heroes, villains, and those we can't tell which side they're on from different Avengers movies. From about 34 seconds into the trailer, we see both new and old faces. Reid, Sue, Johnny, and Ben from the Fantastic 4 arrive, but if you saw the Thunderbolts, you knew that was coming.
Speaking of, Ant-Man, Captain America (Sam), and Bucky are next as Thor gives his speech to the team. Throughout his speech, he's reminding the world who he is, what he's done, and admitting DOOM is scarier than anything he's faced.
As the heroes unite, so do their friends, or those they knew with power. Suri, T'Challa's sister, is still the Black Panther. The Wakandans are going to fight against the coming Doomsday, and they're bringing Namor into the fray. Will he be on Suri's side, or will he have aligned with Doom? There's no telling from the trailer, but the character definitely was intriguing, and it will be interesting to see where Namor lands in all of this story.
One of the more interesting teases is the action sequences and the fights. Two great characters are making another appearance in the MCU as part of DOOMSDAY, and their fight should be a spectacle. During the trailer, without having any idea why, Shaun from Legend of the Ten Rings (Simu Liu) is in an intense-looking showdown with Gambit (Channing Tatum). Here's two guys with the ability to throw powered-up items at each other without having to make contact, but I bet they get to throwing fists. This one should be fun!
Thor makes his point about halfway. He's reminding the heroes of those who have fallen. And he reminds them that their sacrifices (Iron Man, Black Widow) aren't going to mean anything if they all don't stand together against the coming threat. As far as Thor's monologuing goes, with the music and the scenes, as the heroes all combine, this is one of the better ones.
The greatest of the Marvel Universe all make their appearances during the trailer, except for perhaps Spider-Man. However, the trailer is so action-packed that it didn't need Spider-Man. Towards the end, Thor talks about a Miracle, and the trailer delivers. As someone utters the words, "Hey, pal."
We see Thor with a shocked look, replying, "It's not possible." That's when Thor's trusted hammer, Mjolnir, leaves his hand and goes to the only other person we've seen wield it, besides Lady Thor, and that would be Steve Rogers.
Well, that broke it down as much as I imagine I could. But the trailer had to be shared. So, if you're a fan, let us know what you thought of it in the comments. I imagine this is just the first of many.
