intWhile many of the villains in the Disney universe have ambitions and goals that are in no doubt evil to the core, there are some with goals that can be somewhat shortsighted despite being evil.
Here is a list of Disney villains that have no long-term goals despite being defeated in the end.
Cruella de Vil
The evil Heiress to a mass fortune and something of a tyrant towards everyone she meets does have an evil goal of wanting to skin puppies to make a coat out of them (at least that's how it is in the 1961 Disney movie).
But despite having such an evil goal, what would have happened should she had succeeded?
She's obviously not a deep thinker and doesn't have any real goals past turning the poor little dalmatians into a coat. She'd probably find another unfortunate creature to turn into clothing and repeat the process until she gets charged with harming animals before a court of law.
Gaston
Whether you want to call this musclebound meathead evil or just an oversized bully is for you to decide.
The fact that he thinks he can take what he wants when he wants shows just how arrogant and selfish he is and most people around him don't seem to care. He doesn't even have enough imagination to read books without pictures, let alone treat a woman like person.
Which is why he makes this list.
He thinks the female protagonist Belle is another trophy to be mounted on his wall like so many other trophies from his "accomplishments."
He doesn't even have enough imagination to know to do past his success.
Say this dumb brute killed the Beast and took Belle for his wife, what then? Rape her and beat her when she doesn't satisfy him? Kill her father and the servants of the Beast who wish to avenge him and Belle?
I can say for certain that muscle-bound or not, he's one salaud that I would want to take on in a fight.
Dr. Faciler
The Shadow Man himself has the power of Hoodoo and Voodoo turns Prince Naveen into a frog and his servant Lawrence into the Prince.
Whole evil, but again, a villain with a short-sighted goal.
He goal is to get Lawrence to marry the local rich girl Charlotte, when successful he uses a voodoo doll to kill off her father so that Lawrence as the phony prince along with Facilier collect the money, but then what?
Would Facilier then kill off Lawrence and take his part of the payment? or would he find some other scam? Either way, killing for money isn't exactly is a long-term goal.
Ernesto de la Cruz
The main antagonist of the 2017 movie Coco, he killed off his best friend Hector just so he could steal his music and continue on his path to glory and fame until 1942 when a giant bell fell on him during one of his performances.
While he was evil for killing off someone who was like a brother to him and nearly killed off the main protagonist Miguel, his evil goal was a poor one at that.
He never thought that someone would find out that he was a fraud and killer in the realm of the living? That living for glory instead of having a family isn't vain?
Doesn't change the fact the truth came out and he will eventually become forgotten and fade into nothingness.
The Evil Queen
Vanity, they name is the Evil Queen from Snow White and The Seven Dwarves.
Her desire to see Snow White killed off because she is prettier than the antagonist of the movie is a pretty pathetic reason.
She did not bother to consider the possibility that the Hunter she sent to kill Snow White would defy her orders? That she would not be able to outwit the Dwarves while disguised as a hag with an apple basket?
So what if she did kill off Snow White, what then?
Would not the Huntsman return to avenge Snow White's death? or even the Dwarves?
The Evil Queen's heart is so black it has clouded her judgement about what to do after her foul deed.
In The End
Agree, Disagree, you decide whether or not the villains here are short-sighted or not.
