While last year, we got the gem that was the Mandalorian, Disney Plus, which has been revolutionizing the way we look at Marvel. For years we have gotten film after film of an interlocking story that eventually led to Thanos snapping his fingers and destroying half of the world, including its heroes. We have been given great wonders and heroes and heroines to look up to. Even faces we never expected to be depicted on the screen. I don’t think anyone could have expected Marvel’s second phase to be better than the first, with the loss of the three members that put the Avengers on the map. Tony Stark, Captain America, and Black Widow were legendary heroes, and it could be argued that while they saved a lot of the world, they were also flawed individuals. We have waited almost three years, if not longer for The Black Widow’s solo story, that we still haven’t gotten. We all watched her fall to her death, and we know that we will see more about her in the future Hawkeye film, but I don’t think anyone was fully ready for WandaVision.

WandaVision was the first of the Marvel TV that was released on Disney Plus. While not much was said about this show, it was the secondary characters that really stole the show, with cameos from Thor, Captain Marvel, and even Ant-Man within the show. They even brought us a sneak peek to S.W.O.R.D headquarters. While S.W.O.R.D. was mentioned briefly earlier in 2020, we never would have expected a sneak peek so soon.

With the final episode already released and most likely been re-watched several times, the Marvel Fans of the world eagerly wait for the premiere of Falcon and Winter Soldier. While this show of course is going to deal more with the aftershocks of Captain America’s most likely demise (He was pretty old when he gave Sam the shield) and of course the breakup of the Avengers with only Thor and Hulk remaining of the original team, we eagerly await the surprising team-up of Bucky and Sam who as was shown in Civil War, weren’t exactly the best of friends, despite both being Captain America’s Best Friends respectively in their own time periods.

It would be interesting to see how this frenemy team takes on the return of Zemo and what looks like his own band of acolytes, to rid the world completely of Superheroes. It would be interesting to see the cameos we might get in Falcon and Winter Soldier, Sharon Carter among them, and how they would play off the snarky attitudes of both Sam and Bucky.

Sam of course has had certain interludes with Ant-Man so it would be curious to see if we saw any of the Pym’s in the show because as WandaVision was supposedly supposed to introduce Dr. Strange’s Multi-verse of Madness, it would be no surprise if Falcon and Winter Soldier brings about the return of the Pym’s or Ant-man and the Wasp. So far in the commercials and promos, we’ve gotten thus far of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, they still seem to be fighting so it would be no surprise if the fights continue into a full-on brawl, the type of friendship that Tony Stark and Steve Rogers seemed to have across the Avenger films. A friendship that started out of a relationship of frenemies sometimes is the ones that last forever in the Marvel world.

So far it seems that among all the films, that Falcon and Winter Soldier could have borrowed from it seems that the show will be given a feel of Civil War and Infinity War. Which I hope eventually leads into some cameos’ from Wakanda. Hopefully from Shuri, who it seemed took a liking to Bucky. As it stands, friends for him seem in short supply.
