The Curse of Torn Lovers
The waves beat calmly against the shore, foam landing on the darkened sand. Shaye leaned against her head against her knees, watching the waves as she listened to Ashton spin his tale to the other travelers. He told the ancient tale of the sun and moon, the first star-crossed lovers by the light of the campfire.

A Tale In A Far Away Land
There have been many tales read in nighttime hours to bring children to bed. Tales of Princes, Barmaids, fairies, and Pirates. Of great balls, and wicked masquerades of true love kisses, and wishes. Has there been a greater tale than that of Sleeping Beauty? For me, the tale of Sleeping Beauty hidden behind the walls of thorn bushes the Prince racing to save her, and the sorceress turning into a great hulking dragon to stand in his way. This tale has been told and retold in many ways. Sometimes it’s been a hundred years since anyone has entered this fortress determined to save the lady fair. In these modern times, the story has been rewritten from a romance to a tale of love between mother and daughter. The sweet Aurora being awakened by Maleficent herself. Of all the different versions the one that has stayed with me the most was one told first by my mother, and one I have retold to many nieces during New year’s celebrations.

Every Poison has an Antidote
In the decades that followed earth's annihilation the earth's wildlife regained its control growing wild and feral, climbing through the tall buildings that stood still made of granite and metal, stone and concrete. Alida was adept at climbing, and moving from beam to beam, with very little light to guide her way. Often she lost her footing and found herself in a concrete building watching for those Mansters that often took refuge there. She had vague memories of her mother telling her warning stories of the Mansters, formerly men, who like the wildlife turned feral their bodies mutating in death, traveling through the wilderness groaning over the fate preying on the alone.

Odd One out
In my world, I have always had trouble fitting in. Whether it’s because I’m vastly different from the person I’m surrounded with or unwilling to conform to their version of normal, I’ve just never fit. This has been never more clear than the first initial months of my former job.

The Underground Gateway
The red glow of the eternal fluorescent lights. The tunnel was littered with gaping doorways that led even deeper into the underground. Brina was exactly where she shouldn’t be, as close to the surface as she could be. She heard a sound like the sound of an animal scuttling on the floor. It gave her cause to turn as she walked. When she faced forward it was to see to solemn boys standing before her.

The Art of Worldbuilding
In the world of a writer, we build stories around cities both real and make-belief. We shape destiny craft fates and throw obstacles in the way for the heroes to face. We develop new cultures and people of all kinds of nationalities. To create a world from nothing is no easy task.

Technology in Films
In the world of superheroes in TV and Movies, Marvel and DC have shown us a world of different technologic advances. My favorite technical advances have been shown in the TV show Marvel Agents of Sheild. The science divisions of Shield were able to create weapons that can stop people in their tracks without killing. In Avengers we were shown Hawkeye’s super cool quiver that lined up the arrows the same way a barrel of a gun moves. Batman always has different weapons or gadgets he uses both in live-action movies and in cartoons.

Re-Imagining the Greatest Evil Stepmothers of the World
While there have been great Princesses transformed into role models we can’t forget their evil stepmothers of the world. In the world of Snow White for example we have been given two completely different Evil Queens. Julia Robert’s interpretation of the Evil Queen was one that loved parties and staying queen as long as possible.
