Did You Hear the Exciting News About Hallmark Actress Holly Robinson Peete?
Actress Holly Robinson Peete has received some very good news.
Unlike some Hallmark actors, Holly Robinson Peete is not moving to another network. She has a very good reason to stay with the Hallmark Family.
The 57-year-old actress recently signed a multi-picture deal with Crown Media Family Networks for exclusivity on holiday movies.
On March 24, 2022, Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President, Programming, Crown Media Family Networks, announced that Holly Robinson Peete will continue to make original Christmas movies for the network.
Crown Media is Hallmark's parent company that includes the Hallmark Channel and its spin-offs Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Drama. Hamilton added that since Holly's first movie in 2015, she has been praised by fans for her work on and off the screen for her acting and her advocacy work.
Holly's Reaction
Holly is thrilled to continue her work with Hallmark. She says the network is one of the most unique and warm destinations on television, especially at Christmas. She added that she is so proud of the projects she has been allowed to do on the channel, and she looks forward to performing in more Christmas movies.
About Holly Robinson Peete
Holly Elizabeth Robinson Peete was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 18, 1964. She is one of the oldest Hallmark actresses. When she started acting in 1969, many of the other Hallmark stars had not even been born. She started acting when she was only five years old playing a little girl named Sally on the first episode of Sesame Street.
Her time on the kid's show was short-lived. It lasted only two episodes because while acting alongside her real father, she kept calling him "Daddy" instead of referring to him by his character's name. Her last scene did not require her to say anything. It was changed for her to just walk down the street with Big Bird.
Holly earned a degree in Psychology and French from Sarah Lawrence College in New York in 1986. After graduation from college, she launched a career in acting instead of working for a job using her college degree. Soon after graduation, Holly landed a role in two films.
Holly's Acting Career
Holly is an accomplished singer as well as an actress. She sang the theme songs on Fox's 21 Jump Street and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper in 1987. In 1992, she portrayed Diana Ross in The Jacksons: An American Dream.
Holly's Hallmark Movies
All of Holly's Hallmark movies are Christmas stories except her Morning Show Mysteries series with co-star Colin Lawrence who replaced Rick Fox in 2021.
On December 3, 2021, Our Christmas Journey premiered with Nik Sanchez that received great reviews. Nik plays Holly's son in the movie. He is a 17-year-old autistic actor, model, social media star, and television personality who has won people's hearts with his infectious smile and facial expressions. Holly was perfect for the role because she has a 25-year-old autistic son, and she knew how to interact with her television son.
Personal Life
Holly married Rodney Peete, an 11-year-National Football League quarterback on June 10, 1995. They are parents of four children.
- fraternal twins, daughter Ryan Elizabeth Peete and Rodney Jackson Peete, Jr., born October 17, 1997
- son Robinson James Peete, born August 11, 2002
- son Roman Jackson Peete, born February 25, 2005
One of the twins, Rodney Jr. was diagnosed with autism when he was three years old.
Holly and her family starred in a reality television show on OWN for two seasons from March 19, 2016 to April 8, 2017. For Peete's Sake included Holly, her husband, their four children, and Holly's 81-year-old mother who is seen in the above photo.
