The new take on Joker by David Ayer has made its marks on the people (positively or negatively, that doesn’t matter). The superhero movie that portrayed a group of supervillains from the DC World as heroes is all-set to release the sequel, and surprise, surprise — David Ayer won’t be a part of the team! He passed-on the sequel and shifted towards Gotham City Sirens, which also includes Harley Quinn, but we are not going to talk about it. The news is that there will be no Jared Leto and no David Ayer!

The heavy load of direction has landed solely on the shoulders of James Gunn, and we are satisfied though, he is not going to disappoint us (hopefully). It is rumored that the second part won’t be the continuation of the third installment, and the Squad will be faced with new adventures, but the question that has kept the Joker’s fan in perplexion is that is he even alive or not?!

Who Is Returning Into Action?

The ensemble team members for the first part released in 2016 included many big names like Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Jared Leto, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, and many others. The group was set to execute a risky operation against the threat faced by the world in return for lessened punishments. The supervillain squad will still be in-action in the sequel with all the above big names, but yes, no Jared Leto!

The good thing is no one is even sad — no offense, Jared. Previously too, he didn’t get much screen time, so it’s not like the sequel would look incomplete without him. But the real question is, will the character vanish from the franchise completely? The answer is 85%, yes! As replied by Gunn to a fan’s query about Joker on Instagram, there was no hint of him in the comic books as a part of Task Force X, so like it’s not necessary to add any Clown Prince of Crime in the movie at all.

What Happened To Joker In 2016’s Suicide Squad?

The good news was given by the director David Ayer to all the Joker fans, which state that he survived the helicopter crash! He is officially alive and maybe somewhere creating a mess, but he is out for Suicide Squad 2. He is also rumored to be with Enchantress — the villain of Suicide Squad — after a settlement. Since Enchantress was planning to destroy everything, will Gotham spare from her wrath? A mystery, though.

Coming back to Joker, he comes back to take Harley, but she is unwilling to ditch her new Squad. You would be surprised to know that she, along with the Squad, fights Joker! But at the end of the movie, he rescues Harley from the criminal prison, Belle Reve, which left all of us in confusion. Why does he even want to save her after being opposed? Well, there is nothing to understand; they both are psychopaths after all.

In the final scene, the team succeeded in the mission and took down Enchantress like a real boss. The sacrifice of Chato Santana turned out to be for good as he saved his new family, The Suicide Squad!

Well, you must have seen him being dumped by Harley in the 2020’s Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey. There is no evidence that he has died as he showed up in the ending ‘Rescue Harley’ scene and the pilot scene of Birds of Prey. So, congrats, your favorite psychopath is not in hell!

But... The Fun Doesn’t End Here!

If you think that the crazy fun brought by Joker won’t be in soon-to-release Suicide Squad 2, then you are mistaken! There is no end to the wildness in this franchise! The sequel is all set to rule the screens on August 6, 2021, in the USA. As told by James Gunn in 2019, there will be a mix of some new faces and the familiar ones with the addition of Taiki Waititi, Idris Elba, and Pete Davidson — HUGE!

Another great news is the same craziness in the wardrobe collection! As Kate Hawley is staying stuck to the sequel too, we have high-high hopes! Harley was spotted in a red and black jester costume underneath a red Harley Quinn Suicide Squad 2 Jacket from the teasers. Kate explained the real idea behind it, giving her a punk-inspired outlook with a modern touch. So, stay excited — the real fun is coming soon!
