Deidre Hall Interview

Days of Our Lives fans are curious about what will happen in the new film A Very Salem Christmas. Several updates have been given but not much has been revealed. Deidre Hall gave an interview with Soaps.com and shed a little more light on the holiday movie. She joked about Marlena finding John Black (Drake Hogestyn) running an inn with Kristen DiMera (Eileen Davidson). Hall sayd the movie returns to the heart of who her character really is and that Satan will not make an appearance.

A Very Salem Christmas: What we know thus far

Thus far viewers have pieced together the following about the holiday film. It seems to be a fantasy that is dreamed up by Will Horton (Chandler Massey) while he is working on a screenplay and has nothing to do with what is currently taking place on Days of Our Lives. Kristen and John seem to be a couple and Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) appears happy and cheerful unlike what is going on in her life right now outside of the fantasy.

Days of Our Lives: The drama continues

In Salem right now there is a lot going on. Sami had been kidnapped for three months and returned home to find EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) in bed with Nicole Walker (Adrianne Zucker) and the two women got into yet another physical altercation. Marlena is running amuck and trying to take control of Ciera's (Victoria Konefal) unborn child. John and Shawn Brady are trying to stop her and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) is being accused of murdering Phillip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth North).

Thanks to the five-part miniseries in September titled Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem viewers understand that what happens in Salem stays in Salem and that what happens on Peacock can be completely opposite of what takes place during the weekdays. the success of Beyond Salem is what led to the Christmas film and Hall seems excited about it.

In Salem, Kristen DiMera and Susan Banks are being portrayed by Stacy Haiduk but for the miniseries and the movie the powers that be brought Eileen Davidson back to the role she originated. Deidre Hall teases that Marlena will not be shocked that John is married to Kirsten and running an Inn while wearing ugly Christmas sweaters. After all this is all in Will's mind and has nothing to do with reality.

Days of Our Lives: Happy Salem Holidays

The cover photo indicates that the Black and Brady families will be enjoying themselves which will make the movie happy and devoid of all the trauma and drama back in Salem. This will be a fun escape from the current storylines which are quite troubling. The unexpected twists are not quite so unexpected since fans know this film is not connected to what is happening on the weekday daytime drama Days of Our Lives. Viewers will know to watch for their favorite characters being, well, out of character for the duration of the film. Fans can also catch any missed episodes of the NBC soap, free on Peacock.

Hall pointed out that there are people who will be alone during the holidays and she hopes the movie will help them. The actress said that the nature of the show makes Days of Our Lives a home for orphans during the holidays. A Very Salem Christmas cannot replace a loved one who is missing or deceased during the holidays but it will give viewers a block of time where they can take their minds off of their trouble. Be sure to tune in to the Peacock streaming service on Wednesday, December 15. No time has been given so fans should check any time after midnight.
