Days of Our Lives: Missy Reeves is back

Melissa Reeves began portraying Jennifer Horton Devereaux in 1985 on Days of Our Lives. She has long been a fan favorite and is one-half of the super couple Jack Devereaux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer. Reeves will return for the holidays on Friday December 24 but her come back is marred in controversy. The actress has like social media posts from Candace Owens and several of her daytime castmates have spoken out against it and implied that Missy Reeves is racist and homophobic.

There have been no statements regarding how things have gone since Melissa has been back taping episodes but her fans will be delighted to see Jennifer and Jack reunite even if only for the holidays. You can read about the controversy as well as Candace Owens by clicking on the enclosed links.

Days of Our Lives: Jack adn Jennifer were a super couple

Jack and Jennifer have had a long and difficult path mainly due to the actors who portray them leaving and returning to Days of Our Lives. Having them both back for Christmas will make it seem like old times in Salem but those good times probably will not last. Spoilers have teased a Christmas miracle but as of this writing, there is no clue as to what it will be. Some fans believed a possessed Marlena Evans would be exorcized by Father Eric Brady (Greg Vaughn) but will not begin until the week leading up to the New Year.

In 1991 Jack and Jennifer were on the cruise ship Deception and when it began sinking they along with other Salemites ended up on a deserted Island. It was here that the duo first made love and an interesting thing took place. Long-time Days viewers will recall that Francis Reed who portrayed Jennifer's grandmother Alice Horton made an announcement after the episoide aired.

She spoke about how in her day young ladies were married first before they had sex. Reid did not say anything when her grandaughter Hope Williams Brady first made love to Bo Brady in New Orleans and no explanation was given for why she made her statement regarding Jack and Jennifer.

Days of Our Lives" reeves was replaced with Caddy McClain

Caddy McClain had replaced Reeves as Jennifer in 2020 and fans were wondering if this was going to be permanent and obviously it is not. Days of Our Lives has a habit of switching back and forth with the actors as was done with Kristen DiMera and Susan Banks. Eileen Davidson originated the roles but Stacy Haiduck has been portraying these women since 2018. For the miniseries Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem and the Christmas movie Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christms Eileen Davidson returned as Kristen while Haiduk continued in the role on the NBC daytime drama.

Days of Our Lives: Fans are curious

Regarding her political views, Missy Reeves has a right to believe whatever she wants as we all do, In today's world, however, anything that comes across as racist, transphobic, or homophobic is no longer tolerated and careers can suffer if the wrong thing is said. Candace Owen is considered as a right-wing extremist Trump supporter so Reeves supporting her made a lot of people angry.

Days of Our Lives fans are wondering how Missy got along with her castmates during the taping of the scenes for the holidays but nothing has been said regarding any trouble so perhaps it all went smoothly. Be sure to tune in on December 24 to watch Christmas unfold in Salem, Days of Our Lives continues to be the only soap that airs a new episode on Christmas Eve as the The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, and General Hospital air repeats.
