Conspiracy Theories and Such

'Stranger Things'

OK so there may be spoilers in this article, so be warned. I seriously had to look these up for this article. The only thing that I heard about Stranger Things was that some guy was suing the creators for jacking his idea even though he kind of jacked it from a book. The only thing that was really jacked from the book and the guy's idea was the lab where they did experiments and held secrets. The conspiracies are insane, so let's break them down.

So are you ready to have your mind blown? Eleven is Hopper's daughter. I know, right? This theory I had to think about. For those of you who were paying attention, Hopper had a daughter who died, which he had issues talking about. But what if he discovered that she was alive this whole time and his wife hid her away? There are other versions of this theory is that they have some connection. More than likely, they're related. The reasoning is that he knew stuff about Eleven that we never saw her reveal to him. Maybe one of the boys told him or he overheard this info. I think Hopper just heard this info and that they aren't related.

A lot of people have been talking about the Will vs. Barb thing. Why did Will survive but Barb didn't? The theory is swirling around that icky bug thing he coughed up at the end of season one. Let's unpack this really quick. Maybe the thing that killed Barb ate her or something and the thing that tried to kill Will just tried to suffocate him. It will make sense because how else would that thing get into Will?

The next theory is that the upside down is all in Eleven's head. This one might not make sense at first glance, but think about it. Why is it that she's the only one who can survive it? She can also do crazy things with her mind. She is a badass.

Nancy and Jonathan will end up together. This may have been a "no duh" theory, but it's one of the main ones. Steve started off in season one as kind of a jerk and I wondered why Nancy would be with him. Jonathan seemed like a better fit for her. The theory states that Nancy seemed distant in one of her last scenes with Steve, so that led some fans on Reddit to believe that she would leave Steve and go out with Jonathan.

Next theory is that Eleven is the monster. This comes from the fact that Eleven was saying that she was the monster. But some believe that she was just blaming herself for all the crazy stuff that was going and not saying that she was an actual monster.

This next theory is kind of stupid. It states that Barb died because there can only be one redhead. I kind of didn't remember there being two redheads in season one. Whoever made up this theory was probably just mad that Barb was killed. But there is also another theory that there is a cover-up with Will's disappearance and Barb's death.

The Thessalhydra from D&D is the monster from season two. This stems from the fact that D&D plays an important role in season and the monster from season two looked very similar.

One theory is that the upside down is Hawkins's future. If you remember in season one, they believed that the upside down was an alternate universe. The theory says that, somehow, Eleven tore a hole in the space-time continuum, allowing bits of a potential future to flow into Hawkins to create a time loop. It also says that the upside down was Hawkins if it got attacked or something from the lab exploded.

OK, so this series is hard to predict because it's all over the place. I think that the writers and other people involved in the process of this show would be crazy to end it in season three. I think that they can do so much with the lab alone.
