CBS has confirmed that Conner Floyd will indeed be in the role the new Phillip Chancellor IV. Fans began suspecting this was true after Amelia Heinle posted an image where there was a sign welcoming the hero back to Genoa City. Abby has gone through a lot while her husband was missing and the homecoming may not be as glorious as everyone might think. Chance missed Mariah's entire pregnancy and the birth of his son Dominic and all the drama of these first 3 months.
Initially, everyone will be grateful that Chance survived but when the dust settles there will be a lot of people who need to make adjustments. Abby will be excited to see her spouse but viewers know that during the past week she has been angry. She was questioning why Chance would take missions that kept him away from his family for so long.
Abby has had to rely heavily on Devon and Mariah and once her husband is settled in things will shift. Marriah and Devon will not have the free reign of the Chancellor mansion as they once did so they might feel a bit salty over the situation. No one knows exactly what Chance has gone through so he might have some emotional issues he must deal with. He might not even be able to bond with Dominic because he was not there from the beginning. He might also have issues with Devon and Mariah spending time with the child they brought into the world.

Everything could go smoothly and Chance will settle into hsi new life very nicely. He might adore Dominic and be a wonderful father. Y&R viewers need to keep in mind that there is a reason the writers allowed things to play out this way and there could be some surprises in store. According to Soaps in Depth Chance will arrive in Genoa City by the end of the month which is in time for November sweeps. Jess Walton is supposed to reprise her role as Jill Abbott Atkinson but it's not clear which of them will get home first.
Chance returning means that several other projected storylines probably will not take place. Spoilers had teased that Mariah might kidnap Dominic or challenge Abby for the right to raise him. There were rumors that Devon and Abby might fall in love and raise the baby together. Recent spoilers have teased that Devon might try to take Dominic away from his mother because her medication caused her to sleep through the child crying. There is always the possibility that Devon might be angry enough to begin some type of legal drama but if Chance does come home soon he would stop it dead in its tracks.

Some Y &R viewers have been expressing disappointment that Donny Boaz did not remain in the role of Abby's husband. Others are displeased at the way this storyline has played out as they see no purpose for it. One thing that is certain is that there will certainly be a lot of drama during the welcome home party. If Nikki and Jill are under the same roof there will be tension and also some laughs. Christine might be involved but viewers should not expect to see her husband Paul Williams. Doug Davidson has said online that he no longer expects to reheurn to The Young and the Restless.
The Newmans, Abbott's, Chancellor's and friends will gather to welcome Chance back to Genoa City. Be on the lookout for updates, breaking news, and spoilers related to the return of Phillip Chancellor IV because his homecoming is certain to be eventful.
