Cassie and Her Bad Boy Alpha

Hello everyone before we get started with the story I would like to introduce the characters to you so you aren't shocked when they pop up in the story. These are the main characters that will make prominent appearances in the story. There will be others as well but they only appear once or twice so I will not list them below.  I want to thank you for reading my story and please leave any comments as to how I can make them better ~ Caitlyn 

Cassie: Main female, 17 years old, Human and only knows werewolves exist because her best friend is one. Future Luna.

Chapter 1

*BEEP BEEP BEEP* Cassie grumbles as she shuts off her alarm.  She gives it an evil glare as she stretches'.  Why does morning have to start so early. The clock reads 6:30am. Cassie can't decide if she wants to give herself 10 more minutes or get up now and get ready for the day.  She reluctantly decides to get out of bed.  She makes her way to her bathroom to get a shower to wake her up.  As she turns on the water she can hear her brother waking up to, one of the downsides of having a room next to your sibling.  She ignores his grumbling and gets in the shower, the hot water hits her and makes her gasp although it feels amazing she wasn't expecting it to be that hot.  She washes her hair and debates on shaving, oh what the hell I am already in here so may as well get it done, She thinks to herself.  After washing and rinsing out her hair she finally shuts the water off just as she hears James yell down the hall "Thanks for using all the hot water you brat" she chuckles "Well I guess you should have gotten up earlier" she yelled back.  James is 20 but failed a few grades so they're in the same grade.  She start rummaging through her closet to find a suitable outfit for the first day, she stares into her closet and sees nothing that she wants to wear.  She settles on a black mini skirt and a silk red tank top with matching bra.  She gets dressed and heads back to the bathroom to do her hair and makeup.  She went soft with the makeup except around her eyes, she had light blue eyes so light they almost looked white, she made them pop.  As she exited the bathroom she finds her pair of silver sparkly heels that pull her outfit together.  She grabs her bag and heads downstairs to have breakfast.  

    Downstairs she ran into her brother "Watch where you are walking you goof" she shouts at him. "ok enough you two get in here for breakfast" their mother shouts from the kitchen "But mom she started it" James says "Well I am finishing it" she replies.  Susan looked up to her husband, Jeff,  for some back up "Come on kids listen to your mother" "Ok daddy" Cassie says as she gives him a kiss on the cheek/ James rolls his eyes, his little sister has always been mommy and daddy's little angel. They didn't even comment on the outfit she was wearing.  " Hey dad, do you mind if Scott comes over after school" James asks "Scott isn't that Cassie's boyfriend?" "Ex dad and has been for 3 months now" Cassie screamed at her father.  "I don't care if he comes over just as long as you guys don't bother your sister" Susan replied for their father.  

    Cassie stood up from the table knocking over her glass of juice and ran out of the house.  She hated the fact that her brother and her ex boyfriend were best friends. Aren't older brothers supposed to hate their little sisters boyfriends not become friends with them, she thought.  She got into her car and headed to school.  She was going to stop and grab a bite to eat from the local cafe but decided against it.  She blared her music and before she knew it she was sitting in the school parking lot.  She waited until she saw Sarah, her best friend, and her boyfriend Jake.  They made a cute couple, they had met over the summer and Cassie had hardly seen Sarah since.  She knew that Sarah was a werewolf and was pretty sure Jake was her mate just by how lovey they were with each other.  Sarah had told Cassie about werewolves a year ago when she saw Sarah shift for the first time.  Granted Sarah wasn't supposed to tell humans about werewolves but she knew Cassie wouldn't say anything to anyone.  

    Tommy's alarm went off a little after 7am. He rolled over to turn it off. He stared at it and rolled his eyes.  He rolled back over to face the girl in his bed, Carol, he stared at her for a few minutes trying to decide if he wanted to wake her up or not.  She was his latest fling, or girlfriend as she liked to call herself, she was a year younger than he was which he didn't mind, it did bother him that she was human though.  He had made a deal with himself that the unmated pack females were off limits, humans were fair game.  He had his own place out of the main house so it made it easier to avoid the why are all these people in your house conversation.  he continued to watch Carol sleep and then decided he would get ready for school then wake her up. This way he could at least have some hot water to shower with.  He quickly showered and got dressed in a black t shirt that showed his muscles and a pair of black jeans, boots and leather jacket.  He made his way back to the bad where Carol was just starting to stir.  "Hey Baby, Time to wake up" he said to her "But babe I don't want to" she replied covering her head with a blanket.  Tommy rolled his eyes and chuckled. "You wake up and get ready, Ill go make breakfast and then we have to get to school" Carol grumbled and got up.  

    Tommy made his way to the kitchen. He decided on toast with jam and some fresh fruit as they didn't have much time to get to school.  He heard the shower kick on upstairs and decided to make a phone call to check in on things at the main house. No one answered which wasn't a surprise because his parents liked to sleep in.  He put his phone away as he heard the shower shut off and contemplated on how he was going to get rid of Carol and move on to his next conquest.  His wolf, Jasper, stirred at that thought. "We need to find our mate not screw everything that walks on two legs" "Oh screw you, do you really want to be tied to one person for the rest of our live now? We're just having fun." That shut Jasper up.  Carol had just come downstairs and started eating.  They made their way out of the house to Tommy’s car and headed to school.  

    On the way something hit Tommy like a ton of bricks. He could place it but he had a bad feeling the closer they got to the school.  Tommy pulled into the school parking lot and parked by Jake, his best friend and beta of the pack.  Jake was with Sarah, his mate and they were talking to Sarah's Best friend Cassie.  He had known that she knew about the werewolves because of Sarah but he figured he would let it slide since she kept her mouth shut.  Tommy shut off his car, gave Carol a peck on the cheek and got out of the car. That is when the scent hit him, Strawberries and Vanilla. "Mate" Jasper shouted in his head. They both looked around and they locked eyes with Cassie.  No it can't be Tommy thought to himself "Mate" Jasper shouted again "but she's human" Tommy said to him.  He rolled his eyes and grabbed Carols hand.  They made their way over to Jake, Sarah, and Cassie. The minute they said hello to everyone shit hit the fan, Jasper wanted his mate and Tommy wanted to keep being the playboy that he was, it was an internal battle and Jake and Sarah knew instantly.  Carol was oblivious to how Tommy was acting and was staring daggers at Cassie.  Carol was the reason why Scott and Cassie weren't together anymore, he cheated on Cassie with Carol.  No one knew not even Sarah and they told each other everything.

    Cassie took one look at Carol and wanted to kill her.  Sarah noticed the shift in Cassie's attitude and led her away before the situation got any worse.  Jake followed his mate and left Tommy standing in the parking lot arguing with Jasper.  "Thank you Sarah, I can't believe the nerve of her acting like she didn't destroy the best thing in my life" Cassie said as they made it to homeroom.  It was going to be a long day Cassie thought as she sat down.  She put her head down on her desk at the teacher walked in.  That was the start of a very long school year.  

Chapter 2

 As the week drug on Cassie was happy it was finally Friday. She had plans with Sarah and Scott was coming over this weekend to help James with a project so she only got 24 hours away from them.  School was eventful to say the least. After the whole ordeal with Carol on Monday things got worse from there.  Carol had made a point to tell everyone at lunch that not only had she screwed Scott but tamed the Bad Boy Tommy.  Tommy was even upset with her on how she handled everything.  They had become the most argumentative couple within a matter of hours.  Sarah and Jake stuck by Cassie's side through everything. Telling her to ignore Carol that she was just this weeks flavor for Tommy. Cassie also hated the gut wrenching feeling she had whenever she saw Tommy and Carol together, she was almost jealous.  She knew what  kind of person Tommy was, he had a different girl on his arm every week and that he had no interest in her what so ever.  Cassie had only had one boyfriend and that was Scott and he broke her heart.  Her brother didn't even care enough to dump him as a friend when he found out.

    Friday started off ok. Cassie met up with Sarah and Jake every morning and much to her dismay, Tommy and Carol made it a point to meet up with them before school too.  Cassie had a hard time ignoring her but Sarah helped defuse the situation, or tried to.  Today was one day that Cassie had a hard time keeping her mouth shut today for some reason, she was even rude to her parents which never happened.  Carol started in on Cassie first thing when they got to school.  "You're trying to hard Cassie you will never get Scott back" "Really well that's good because I don't want him back, do you really think I want your sloppy seconds" "You little bitch, are you gonna let her talk to me like that Tommy?" Carol had to have back up whoever it was she didn't care.  "Really? You are hurt by a few little words?" Tommy looked at her, he hadn't really been paying much attention to what was being said he was trying to keep himself from staring at Cassie's dress, Baby blue that covered just enough.  "Well, some boyfriend you are. Not even sticking up for your girlfriend when she is getting harassed by this piece of trash" "That's enough" Tommy yelled at her "I'm done with your drama. Get lost and take your bitchy attitude with you". Carol was stunned she had never expected that her argument with Cassie would bug him that much. " You heard him take your skanky ass else where" Sarah chimed in.  She stormed off and headed into school.

    "Thank you for getting rid of her" Jasper said he had been getting tired of hearing Carol degrade his mate like that. Tommy rolled his eyes at him.  He had also hated how Carol had treated Cassie but he couldn't say anything.  He had had enough of the arguing mostly because of Carol's high pitched voice that she got when she knew she was beat but he also hated seeing Cassie hurt.  He had to find away to make everything up to her.  He knew Cassie was going to be at Sarah's place tonight because he and Jake were having a guys night.  He had to find away to prove that he was done being the player all for her, maybe he would ask Jake for advice.  The last bell rang pulling Tommy out of his thoughts.  He followed behind Jake and Sarah which put him walking next to Cassie.  Her scent was driving Jasper nuts, he needed her more than she knew. "Hey Cass, would you mind if I walked you to your classes today?" Tommy asked shyly " You know just to make sure Carol keeps her distance?" "Sure, We have all our classes together anyway so it won't make people talk" "Oh, they will talk anyway if Carol has any say in it" "True to that she can't keep her mouth shut I am surprised she can close it long enough to eat" Cassie and Tommy both got laughing at that. It earned weird looks from Jake and Sarah, who looked at each other smiling.  

    Luckily, Cassie didn't have to worry about Carol to much because their classes were on the opposite sides of the school.  Come lunch time though it was a completely different story.  The whole school knew by now that Tommy had put Carol out and was walking Cassie to her classes.  They all sat down at their table and started to eat lunch when Carol came up and started in again.  This time Cassie had had enough. "Listen you little slut, I don't care" that was all Carol got out of her mouth before she got punched.  Cassie stood there her eyes black with rage. She couldn't believe  that she just punched Carol, granted she had it coming but that wasn't her.  Once she started beating Carol she wanted to keep going until she felt arms around her that were dragging her out of the cafeteria.  "Let me go, that bitch had that and more coming to her." Cassie struggled against her capture.  She saw Sarah and Jake walking in front of her with grins. "Wait where is Tommy? Please tell me he is not helping that whore?" "Well, you tell me who I am helping" Tommy said. Cassie realized that the voice had come behind her.  She was able to turn her head and see his face.  He was smiling at her. She turned back toward Sarah and Jake huffing. She felt Tommy chuckle. She rolled her eyes causing everyone to laugh.  

    When they reached the parking lot Tommy finally let Cassie down. She turned around and slapped him. He was stunned. The look on his face was priceless. "what the hell girl I just saved your ass back there" before he could finish Cassie kissed him to shut him up "Do you know you talk to much Tommy". Both Jake and Sarah started laughing because of Tommy's expression and the fact he got put in his place by Cassie. "We need to talk" Tommy said grabbing Cassie's hand and headed to the bleachers. "Finally, are we going to tell her she is our mate?" Jasper asked "I don't know " Tommy replied to him.  Jasper fell silent after that. "If you are done trying to rip my arm from my sockets I am ready to talk" Cassie said as they got to the bleachers, Tommy dropped her hand which she regretted saying anything because their hands fit perfectly together. They sat in silence while Tommy tried to figure out what to say to Cassie, she played with the hem of her dress while she waited. Tommy cleared his throat before he began to speak "Before I say anything I want you to promise not to interrupt and save the questions, can you do that?" Cassie shook her head and Tommy continued "I know you know about werewolves thanks to Sarah, so I am sure you know about mates. They are our other half, are soul and we are weak without them, more so when they reject them. Very rarely are we matted with humans because they are considered weak as they can not fight a werewolf if needed.  For whatever reason I got paired with you as my mate.  I know I have a past of being the play boy and the bad boy, I am willing to show you that I can change that if you will give me a chance to prove it to you. " Tommy took a breath and looked at her trying to read her "I know it is a lot to take in but I am willing to try if you are." Cassie just sat there thinking, her heart had been broken into a million pieces with what happened with Scott, Tommy was know to be the bad boy and player and she didn't know if she could handle the past that came with him most of all Carol, and she knew she had a lot to think about before giving him her answer, although she already knew what she was going to tell him. "Tommy" she finally spoke and looked him dead in the eyes "I need time, you already know what happened with my ex and I don't want to be just some girl for you.  I do know what you are and about the mates, I am just not sure I am ready to be yours. I am not rejecting you I am just asking for time. It may not be Monday or next week but if you want to prove that you can change take that time to do so." With that she stood up and ran to her car, Sarah wanted to stop her but knew her well enough that they would talk later when she came over.  

    Cassie bolted out of the parking lot and made her way home.  Luckily no one was home so she was able to relax without getting bothered by anyone.  She packed a bag for Sarah's house then went to her bathroom and took a long hot bath while taking the time to think about everything that happened today.  She ended up falling asleep and when she awoke she quickly got ready to head to Sarah's house.  First thing she had to do was apologize to her parents for acting the way she did this morning.  She went to go look for them but they were not home. There was a note saying that they decided to have a date night and wouldn't be back till late and to have fun at Sarah's.  Well there goes that idea she thought as she headed out to Sarah's house.  

Chapter 3

Cassie finally reached Sarah's house, saying she lived in the boonies was an understatement.  Sarah met her at the door and helped her carry her stuff in.  She knew that Sarah had a bunch of questions as to what happened with her and Tommy but she was going to have to wait until after they ate.  One thing about Sarah she could cook like it was going out of style and it was the most amazing food Cassie had ever tasted, even better than her mothers.  After they had finished eating they took a dip in the hot tub and then did facials, Sarah couldn't contain her questions anymore so Cassie told her everything. "He's your mate? He said he would change the bad boy/player ways? What did you say to him?" "I told him I needed time. I wasn't rejecting him I just need time, he understood and told me he would use the time to prove he would change. He knows what happened with Scott so he understands where I am at as far as anything serious goes. He may not like it but he is going to have to deal with it if he really wants me as his mate" Cassie told her "And he was ok with that? Like who would've thought our Alpha Bad boy would settle down" "Wait, Alpha? He left that part out, that would make me Luna." Cassie felt like a bomb had went off on her. "I didn't realize that he didn't tell you he was the Alpha of our pack, I am so sorry that I told you" Sarah looked at Cassie with a sympathetic look on her face.  "Its ok Sarah you didn't know he had not told me." Cassie really needed time knowing that she was going to be Luna of god knew how many wolves was like a huge weight on her shoulders that she didn't know if she was ready for.

    As they got done with their facials and were getting ready to watch a movie, Cassie's phone started ringing.  She didn't recognize the number but showed Sarah and she said that she had given her number to Tommy.  ~Hello~ Cassie said as she answered the phone ~Hey Cass, sorry Sarah gave me your number after you left school today I hope that's ok?~ Tommy sounded worried ~Yeah that's fine. You could've just asked for it~ ~Well you had left before I could~ there was silence ~So I just wanted to see if you were ok. When you left in such a hurry after everything I was worried~ ~Yeah, I'm ok. Umm. so weird question, when were you going to tell me you were the Alpha of the pack and that if I became your mate I would be Luna?~ Tommy was quiet for a moment ~I was going to tell you when you actually accepted me as your mate. Tell Sarah she has a big mouth~ in the background you can hear Jake laughing at that comment.  ~Ok I'll tell her.  Anyway I hate to cut this short but I have a sexy vampire calling my name~ ~A VAMPIRE~ Tommy yelled in her ear ~ We are watching a movie will you relax~ Cassie said laughing ~I'll talk to you later~ she didn't give him a chance to answer as she hung up the phone.  Both her and Sarah bust out laughing.

    Sarah's phone went off and it was a text from Jake.{I don't know what Cassie said to Tommy but his face is priceless. And what's this about a hot vampire} {We are watching a movie babe. I love you} She put the phone away but not before showing Cassie the text message.  They started laughing again.  It was almost midnight when the movie got over so the girls headed up to the bedroom to get ready for bed.  They got comfy and called it a night.  Before long Sarah was out but Cassie was still awake staring at the ceiling.  She had a weird idea to text Tommy to see if he was still up.  She grabbed her phone and turned the brightness down so it wouldn't wake Sarah. [Hey not sure if you're up or not but I can't sleep] she sent the text and held her breath until she saw her screen light up 2 minutes later [Hey Baby, why can't you sleep] she didn't expect him to text back [ I have to much on my mind. between what happened this week to yesterday with kissing you it's just a lot for a human like me to process] [ LOL. Do you want to get your mind off of things? Promise to have you back before Sarah wakes up] [Sure anything I should wear] [Jeans and t-shirt its warm out] [ok how long do I have] [10 minutes].

    Cassie quickly got dressed and waited on the porch to Sarah's house.  She was a little surprised when she saw a huge black wolf appear out of the trees. She almost screamed but something told her that this wolf wouldn't hurt her.  She wait patiently for the wolf to come up to her.  She saw his eyes and they were ice blue.  The wolf came up to her and she put her hand out and he licked it.  She somehow knew that this was Tommy in wolf form.  The wolf had lay down and nudged for her to climb on his back.  She climbed on and held on tight. She could've swore she heard the wolf chuckle.  They were off like lightening.  They were going fast so she buried her face in the fur of his neck.  When they came to a clearing and the wolf lay down again for her to get off.  She stood there staring at the wolf and heard bones break.  A few minutes there stood Tommy with just a pair of shorts on.  He held his arms open and she gladly accepted the hug because she was shivering.  She felt him kiss her head and smile.  "That was awesome" she finally said "I knew it would help. That was my wolf Jasper, he has been bugging me to meet you since I found out that we were mates." "I was honestly a little scared of him a first when I first saw him" Cassie told him honestly.  Tommy shook his head like he knew that she was.  They sat and talked for what seemed like hours.  Cassie lay her head on his shoulder and started dozing off. "Time to get you back baby or I'm gonna have to carry you like a pup back to Sarah's" "Just five more minutes" Cassie begged as she made a mental note that that was the second time that he called her baby. Tommy chuckled and told her they had to get back. She grumbled as she agreed. Tommy had shifted back to Jasper before Cassie got up. She climbed up and held on tight.  Next thing she knew she was at Sarah's door.  Tommy was standing next to her.  "You fell asleep on me baby girl" "I'm sorry" she said with a pout.  Tommy held the door open for her as she stepped inside and turned to face Tommy "Can we do that again tomorrow? Scott's coming over and I really don't want to be around him or my brother." " We'll see baby girl. You go get some sleep or you wont be any use to anyone in the morning" Cassie pouted and Tommy kissed her cheek. "Goodnight, Baby girl." Tommy was gone before she could even say goodnight to him.  She made her way upstairs and like clockwork Sarah was still sleeping soundly and didn't even realize she had left.

    The next morning Cassie didn't want to get out of bed.  Sarah thought it was odd because Cassie was always up before 9 and here it was almost 11 and she was still sleeping soundly.  Her phone had been going nuts since 8:30 which is what woke Sarah up.  Finally she was able to get Cassie up.  "Will you check your damn phone. I don't know who is trying to get you but they have been blowing it up since 8:30 this morning" Sarah told her kind of annoyed. " Yeah sorry. and sorry I slept so late. I must've been more tired than I thought" Cassie smiled and checked her phone. 3 missed calls, 1 from her parents,1 from Scott, and lastly 1 from Tommy, and 10 texts, 3 from her parents letting her know they were going on a long weekend, 2 from Scott asking if she was ok with him being at her house to help James, and 5 from Tommy asking her if she had a good night and how she slept and asking if they were still good for today.  she quickly told her parents to have fun and that she would be safe, she ignored and deleted Scott's messages and lastly responded to Tommy having him pick her up in his car at 5.

    Smiling she put her phone down and saw Sarah's face. "ok little miss spill" "what's there to spill?" "well Jake said that Tommy had left last night and didn't come back till 3 this morning and you overslept so where you to together?" Dammit Jake Cassie thought "Yes I was with Tommy he showed up cause I couldn't sleep I went on his wolf and we talked" "SHUT UP HE LET YOU RIDE JASPER?" Sarah screamed "Yeah what's the big deal" "That's like the purest form of trust and love." Cassie just rolled her eyes at her "Seriously he has never let anyone ride his wolf not even the pups" "oh" was all Cassie could say.  She left soon after and got home with just enough time to change and meet Tommy.

Chapter 4

While Cassie was waiting for Tommy to show up Scott pulled into the driveway. Oh great I was hoping to be out of here before he showed up she thought to herself. “Hey sexy, who are you waiting for? Not a new boyfriend I hope” Scott said as he got out of his car. She rolled her eyes at him “Why do you care who I am waiting for its obviously not you. I also suggest that you watch your words or I will knock your teeth down your throat the next time” “Easy baby I was just joking will you relax” Scott said just as Tommy pulled up. “Hey baby girl you ready” Tommy yelled out the window. Just as Cassie was getting up the door opened and there stood James. “You're not going anywhere. Especially not with him” James said as he grabbed Cassie's arm, which was a bad move on his part. Tommy was by her side in seconds. “Why do you care where I go? Cassie asked him as she tried to break free from his grip. “Our parents left me in charge so what I say goes. You are going to stay here with me and your boyfriend” James sneered “James please let me go you are hurting me” Cassie pleaded. “I think you mean ex boyfriend James” Tommy chimed in, he was trying to keep his temper in check even though he wanted to rip James in half for hurting his mate “Last I knew those two broke up when Cassie found Scott screwing Carol.” By this time James was holding Cassie's arm so tight you could see his fingerprints. She had had enough. With her free hand she punched James in the face as hard as she could. “You little bitch” James said as he let go of her arm to grab his nose “You will pay for that” “Not if I have any say in that matter” Tommy said. Cassie stood behind him for protection, she was holding her arm that James had grabbed. “Lets just go please I don't want to be here any more” she said to Tommy. As they turned to leave Scott thought he could show Cassie that he was stronger than Tommy by trying to jump him from behind. Tommy swiftly moved out of his path and managed to trip him so he landed on his face. Scott looked at Cassie “You will regret the day you choose this loser over me.” Cassie just glared at him.

Tommy put his arm around Cassie's shoulders and walked her to his car. She was shaking. Tommy opened the door for her as she climbed in he saw a tear fall down her cheek. When he got in the car he took her hand “You ok baby?” she just nodded. Tommy pulled out of the drive and was met by glares from James and Scott. He didn't care he knew he had to get Cassie away from there before she completely broke down. The ride was silent except for Cassie's occasional sniffles. Tommy took her to the spot they came and talked, it was secluded and they didn’t have to worry about anyone finding them. When they got to where they were going Tommy looked over at Cassie and she was sleeping against the door. He got out and went to get her out of the car so she would be more comfortable. “Sweetheart you have to wake up for a minute then you can go back to sleep” Cassie mumbled something in response.

Tommy had set up a picnic area for them and let Cassie rest. Before she went back to sleep she asked if he could bring out Jasper so he could know she was ok. Tommy reluctantly agreed but shifted before her. She wrapped her arms around Jasper's neck and started crying all over again. She cried for what seemed like forever then she curled up leaning against jasper. He had put his head in her lap and they both took a much needed nap.

Jasper was the first to wake up as a new scent hit him in the face. He had smelled it before but couldn't place where. He slowly got up so not to disturb Cassie. He put his nose up in the air and took a big sniff. That is when he saw the wolf in the trees. He was none to happy about that, whoever it was was trespassing on his territory. He went after the wolf and found it in a submissive pose and they shifted back to human. Tommy growled but did the same. “Who are you and why are you on the Black Moon Pack Territory?” He asked the man that stood in front of him “I am looking for my daughter? She has been missing for 17 years and she is all I have left.” The man replied. Tommy was a little of guard on that “Well she hasn’t past through here I would have smelled rogue if she had. I will let you take leave of this territory and be on your way” “You would have not noticed her sir, she is not a wolf she is human. Her mother was human” “well that would make sense, I will let you use our resources to find her but please make it fast. You are under my protection so no other wolf in the territory will bother you, if they do you tell them to speak to me” “Thank you sir, I will be as fast a I can as to not to disturb the peace of your pack.” “I hope you find your daughter” Tommy said as he turned and shifted back to make his way back to Cassie.

When he got back to her she was eating one of the sandwiches that were laid out. She jumped slightly when she saw Jasper. “I thought you had left me here” she said to him knowing Tommy could hear her as well. Jasper shook his head and looked hurt by her even thinking he would do that. He silently chewed Tommy out for being such a player. Jasper sat down next to her and gave her a big old wolf kiss to the side of the face as an apology. She threw him a sideways glance trying to hide her smile. “As much as I love spending time you Jasper could you bring Tommy back for a little while and then you and I can go for a run later” she asked while scratching Jasper behind the ears. Jasper shifted back and Tommy was standing in front of her again. “You know you keep it up Jasper's going to say the heck with the time you asked you for and mark you sooner rather than later” Tommy said chuckling. Cassie just shrugged her shoulders at him. “Are you going to eat to or is this all for me?” “I could use a sandwich too” Tommy sat down next to her. They sat and ate in silence.

Tommy was the first to speak. “Baby I have a question for you” he sounded nervous “Are you always treated like that when your parents are not home?” he didn’t know how to ask about it so he did it bluntly. “Sadly yes, because he is older James thinks he can boss me around. I normally don't let it get that bad but this is the worst it has ever gotten” “oh” Tommy didn’t know what to say to that. He was fuming. “How often do your parents go away?” “At least twice a month. Normally for a long weekend but this time they are gone all week.” “I don't like the idea of you being in that house with James I am worried that he might seriously hurt you” “I was planning on telling my parents I was going to stay at Sarah’s for the week, I just hadn’t gotten to it yet.” Tommy was relieved to here that, he would much rather her stay with him but he was giving her the time she needed.

They had finished eating and started picking up everything when they both heard a wolf howl and it was close. Tommy immediately shifted and Jasper stood in his spot. He stood in front of Cassie in a protective stance. He had tried to usher her to the car but she stood fast and wouldn't budge. She had placed her hand on Jasper's back to let him know she was ok. In the clearing came the same white wolf that Jasper had smelled earlier. The man who was looking for his daughter. Jasper bared his teeth and let out a low growl but the wolf kept coming towards them. He stood about 10 feet from them and shifted and Jasper did the same. Tommy was furious “I thought I told you to leave this area and not come back” “I am sorry sir” the man bowed his head but I have found my daughter and she is standing behind you” the man looked at Cassie, a look of disbelief on her face and then she passed out.

Chapter 5

Cassie had been out for almost 3 days before she came back around. The doctor had said it was shock that cause her to pass out, that and some injuries that made Tommy want to rip James’s head off even more. The man that had been in the clearing had been checked in as a guest of Black Moon so he was no threat to anyone anymore. Tommy had a lot of questions for this man, Steven, who claims that Cassie is his missing daughter but he figure when Cassie woke up she should be the first to question him.

Neither man had left Cassie’s side since she passed out in the field. Tommy caught her before she hit the ground and Steven rushed to her side. Tommy growled at him and he took a step back but helped him anyway. There was no way that Cassie was human and half werewolf. The doctor had done a DNA test while they waited for Cassie to come around and it was proven that this man was in fact Cassie’s father and that she was half werewolf as well. Tommy wasn’t sure how well she was going to take any of this.

Cassie stirred and looked at the men beside her. She recognized Tommy but the other man she had no clue who he was or what he was doing here. The last thing she remembered was him saying that she was his lost daughter which she knew he was mistaken. She was Susan and Jeff’s daughter, at least that is what she thought. She didn’t know what to think anymore to be honest. Tommy and this man were talking so he must not be a threat. Cassie cleared her throat and the guys shut up and looked at her. Tommy was the first to speak “Hey Baby, you're a sight for sore eyes. You gave me quite a scare” he said kissing her hand “How long have I been out” “3 days” Cassie just shook her head. “Who are you” she asked turning to the other man in the room “I am Steven, and what I said the other day is true you are my daughter” “How am I your daughter, I am Susan and Jeff’s daughter. I am not a werewolf like you so that doesn't make any sense” “I don't know what to say except 17 years ago I was out with my pack and when I came home your mother, Scooter, was dead and you were gone. I went crazy trying to find you and your mothers killers. Your mother was human just like you and she was my mate. I had a DNA test done if you don't believe my words” Cassie was in shock. She asked to see the results hoping they were wrong but there in Black and white was the results they were a 99% match. She didn’t know what to say so she just sat there.

Her whole life had been a lie. She didn’t even know who she was anymore. She wasn’t even sure she wanted Steven as her father. “What was the name you gave me at birth” she asked not sure she wanted the answer “Your name by birth is Cassandra, but from what I have heard it was changed to Cassie” Steven replied. “Well at least its close to the name I was given when I was taken” she laughed. The guys looked at her like she had lost her mind. She didn’t know how to cope with all this information so she just laughed until her stomach hurt.

She was still laughing when Tommy and Steven went to find the doctor to get her released so she could get some fresh air. They had to wait another half hour to get her released but at least she had stopped laughing by the time they got back. She looked like she had questions for both of them. They sat down and waited for her to speak. She took a deep breath and looked at them both she wasn’t sure what she wanted to say. “Umm.. I’m not 100% sure how to ask this but Steven, what does it mean that I am half human and half werewolf? Will I get a wolf like the rest of the werewolves or am I just a normal human?” she asked him hesitantly “Well you aren’t the first half and half, but everyone is different, it means that you may or may not get a wolf or you will have the strength of the wolf but not the form. There are some cases that the person is 100% human without any abilities. Everyone is different.” “That makes sense” Tommy chimed in “when you beat up Carol your eyes turned black and it happened again when you punched James” “So she has at least the strength of the wolf but she isn’t 18 yet so we will have to wait and see what happens then” Steven said. “Tommy, can I ask you something?” Cassie turned to Tommy, her voice was just above a whisper “Anything Baby” “Do you still want me as your mate and Luna even though I might be some sort of freak.” She wasn’t sure she wanted the answer to that question, she felt her heart start to tear into little pieces “Baby, don’t ever think that I wouldn't want you as my mate and Luna. I doesn’t matter to me what you are. You could be a frog for all I care and I would still want you. When you thought you were just a human I still wanted you. Please don’t ever think I don't” Tommy kissed her and she knew then that he would stay no matter what “Well I don't think I need anymore time to give you your answer” she said back to him and gave him another kiss, forgetting Steven was in the room with them. Steven broke up the kiss by clearing his throat. She blushed crimson.

They waited for the doctor in silence. Cassie had a huge smile on her face and hadn’t let go of Tommy’s hand. Steven was going to take some getting used to, considering the information he had planted on her in the past couple days. Cassie was broke out of her thoughts by her phone going off, it was her parents, or the people she thought were her parents, she ignored it. She didn’t feel like talking to them at the moment. Her phone rang again and this time it was Sarah. Cassie answered it and got an ear full from Sarah. Apparently she had been trying to get a hold of someone to find out what happened. Cassie told her that she would fill her in when they were face to face. Sarah calmed down and just said that she was worried about her and wanted to make sure she was ok. She was released shortly after she hung up the phone and was told to take it easy for a few days, which Tommy took as waiting on her all the time, she didn't mind.

Chapter 6

It had been 3 weeks since Cassie had been in the hospital. She hated to be home but her so called parent’s kept her home from school for a few weeks just to make sure she was 100%. She didn’t speak to them much or her brother, James for that matter. She spent most of her time in her room. Sarah always came by after school with the work she had missed and Tommy came by a few times at night to take her to their spot. She hadn’t spoke to Steven, her real father during that time. She wasn’t sure what to say to him and she hadn’t wanted to ask Susan and Jeff about it. She knew what she wanted to say to them but couldn’t bring herself to do it.

Sarah showed up on the dot at 4:30 with Cassie school work. They hadn’t had a chance to talk either. No one was home so Cassie figured now was a good a time as any. “Sarah, I know you have a bunch of questions that I haven’t answered since you called while I was in the hospital and I am sorry for that” “its all good Cass, Tommy filled me in on some of it, like your parents really aren’t your parents and how you are half human and half werewolf, which is awesome by the way. I know you have been through a lot the past few weeks so when you are ready to tell me the rest you will” “Well, at least you know the best part. But how it all came about it weird. For starters, Tommy and I went out to have a picnic but when he picked me up James and Scott started being assholes, saying that I couldn’t go blah blah blah. James grabbed me to keep me from going and I punched him. When Tommy and I got to our picnic we fell asleep, me on Jasper, when I woke up they were no where in sight, I thought they had left me there and then I saw Jasper coming out of the woods. We ate and then this rogue showed up, apparently he was looking for his daughter who disappeared 17 years ago and Tommy had let him search for her on the territory. Well he came up to us and told both Tommy and I that I was his lost daughter. I passed out and when I woke up I was in the hospital, they had done a DNA test and it proved that this man, Steven, was actually my father. My mother died when I was taken but she was human. Long story short I may or may not end up with a wolf but I have wolf strength so that why I have been super aggressive this past month” Cassie finally took a breath and Sarah just stared at her with her mouth open. “Damn” was all Sarah was able to say. She wrapped Cassie in a hug and told her that if she needed help with anything just say the word. She left but promised she would be back.

Cassie sat back on her bed after Sarah left. She stared at the pile of work in front of her and sighed. Why did I have to take all these extra classes she thought to herself. Just as she was ready to dive into her school work her phone went off. It was Scott, she ignored it, he was the last person she wanted to talk to. He kept calling until she shut off her phone. Shortly after she heard cars pull into the driveway, she assumed her parents were home so she ignored it. She then heard the yelling coming from downstairs. She made her way to the top of the stairs and peered down. She saw Tommy standing over Scott and James, both holding their stomachs in pain. She was in shock. “Hi beautiful, I missed you” Tommy said looking up at her with a smile on his face “get your jacket and some clothes I am breaking you out of here.” Cassie was confused because she really wasn't a prisoner in her house she just wasn't allowed to leave or see anyone except Sarah until her parents thought she was better. Regardless, she ran and got her coat and her bag of clothes, she kept a bag packed for last minute sleepovers at Sarah's. She ran downstairs just as Scott was getting up. He grabbed her to stop her and she slapped him “Don’t ever touch me again and lose my number. If you hadn't noticed I want nothing to do with you” James then got up and smack her across the face “Don t you ever talk to my friends like that” he shouted at her. He went to swing again but she caught his arm, eyes turning black, she snapped his arm in half and left him crying in pain on the floor “Tell your parents that I left, I won’t be back” Cassie said as she walked out of the house with Tommy's arm around her waist.

Cassie looked like she was still ready to kick someones ass as she got into Tommy’s car. “You ok babe?” Tommy asked her “just drive” she responded. Her voice was scratchy. They drove in silence to Sarah’s house. When they got there Sarah came out of the house. She took one look at Cassie and knew instantly what had happened. Sarah just smiled as she looked at Cassie’s face, her eyes slowly losing the black that had taken over the blue, she then turned to Tommy “what did you do to piss her off?” Sarah asked him laughing “it wasn't me it was Scott and James.”

Apparently when Tommy showed up to see Cassie he was met by her “brother” and Scott at the door. James wasn't happy to see him and wanted to beat the crap out of him and so did Scott. They were both upset about how things ended last time he was at their house. James told Tommy that Cassie didn’t want to see him and that she was back together with Scott to which Tommy called BS and that is when the fight that Cassie heard broke out. Cassie hated those boys before she was ready to kill them now. Thank god Tommy knew what they were saying wasn't true, thanks to the mate bond. Jasper was none to happy with how everything turned out either, he wanted to kill bot James and Scott but Tommy wouldn't let him.

“Babe, I hate leaving you here by yourself but I know Sarah will protect you I have to take care of something” Tommy said “ok, you do what you need to do ill be here waiting” Cassie said to him. She kissed him, which calmed both him and Jasper down. Before he left he mind linked Jack {I need you over at Sarah’s} {be there in 5 minutes} Jack replied sounding scared {Sarah is fine but Cassie needs extra protection} {oh ok. Ill be there soon}. “I have Jack coming over to for added protection in case those two show up” Tommy told the girls. He then left to go for a run to get Jasper calmed down.

Jack showed up a few minutes after Tommy had left. He gave Sarah a hug and kiss, happy she was ok. “So what did Scott and James do now?” he asked. Sarah filled him in and Cassie filled in what Sarah had missed. Jack knew they were assholes but he never thought they would be this bad. He also was filled in on the whole Cassie being half werewolf and about her real parents. He stood there in shock with all the information he was just told. Sarah suggested they go inside and kill time until Tommy got back. They decided on a movie.

Cassie turned her phone back on and called her father. She filled him in on everything that had happened and told him that she would have Tommy take her to see him when he got back. Steven was relieved to know that she was ok but wasn’t happy about what had happened. Cassie assured him that everything would be ok and that she would see him soon. As she hung up the phone she got another call, it was her “parents” she ignored it and went back to watching the movie. She ended up falling asleep, the fight earlier had drained her. When she woke up she realized she was in someones arms, she looked up and saw Tommy. “Morning sleepy head” he said laughing Cassie slapped his arm and snuggled back closer to him. “You guys hungry” Jack said walking into the living room “Sarah stress cooking and you don’t know what your missing” he chuckled “we’ll be right there” Cassie said as she sat up. She looked at Tommy “Sarah cooking is to die for” she told him. They got up and headed for the kitchen as the smell of food hit them in the face. Their mouths started watering. They both knew Sarah could cook and Cassie knew stress cooking was the best because it wasn't just sweets but it was everything else too.

Chapter 7

It had been a long couple of days for Cassie to say the least, Tommy too. After they left Sarah's house with full bellies they made their way to the hotel that Steven was staying at, bringing food that Sarah had sent with them. Cassie had called Steven to let them know they would be there within the hour. The car ride was quiet but it was a comfortable silence. Tommy had the radio on and was focusing on the road. He was lost in his own thoughts over everything that had happened since he met Cassie, it brought a smile to his face. He was so lost in thought that he didn’t notice the car that was following them.

Cassie brought him out of his thoughts when she spoke up “babe I think there is someone following us” she told him. He looked in the rear view mirror and saw she was right “do you know how long they have been following us?” he asked Cassie “since we turned off of Sarah's road. I think I know who it is too.” Tommy had an idea too but didn't want to scare Cassie. They made some turns that weren’t needed and sure enough the car behind them followed. Tommy slowed down to see if he could catch a glimpse of the driver and passenger in the other car. It worked and confirmed that it was in fact James and Scott. “hold on baby, I am going to try to lose them. I have had enough of them for one day” Cassie agreed and tightened her seat belt.

Tommy floored it and took one road after another and was finally able to lose them when he hit the highway. He got off two exits down. He was going fast enough that they were not able to catch up. Cassie called Sarah to let her know what had happened and then she called Steven to let him know that they would be a little later than planned. When she hung up her phone started ringing it was James. She didn't want to answer it but did anyway. [What do you want] [I want you back home where you belong] James replied [yeah, that is not going to happen James and you can tell Scott that his whole idea of getting me back isn’t going to work either] she heard both boy growl in frustration [ you can quit following me too and don’t call me again. I am not coming home] Cassie hung up the phone after that. She was furious with them. Tommy looked at her and was going to ask her what was going on but one look at her face and he shut up.

They arrived at Steven’s hotel without incident after they lost the boys. Steven came to greet them in the lobby. Tommy didn't relax until they were in Steven's room behind closed doors. Cassie told Steven everything that had happened and he was furious. “How dare they hurt my daughter and then follow her, I will have their heads on a platter before the day is out” he said “calm down dad we have it handled” Cassie told him, not realizing that she had called him dad. Tommy sat silently, he didn’t know what to say. “oh before I forget these are from Sarah” Cassie handed Steven the containers of food “you will like it I promise.” “Thank you daughter” he said to her.

Tommy looked at his phone to check the time. It was past 2 and he wanted to get Cassie home before it got to late. “Babe I hate to cut this short but we should get going” “ok just let me say goodbye and I will meet you in the hall” she said. Tommy waited in the hall and gave Jake an update and told him to make sure the security around the pack house was tighter than ever. While Tommy was in the hall Cassie went to say goodbye to Steven. “Dad are you in here” she said entering the livingroom “yes sweetheart I am over here” she found him staring out the window. “i just want to say goodbye and that I will keep you posted with everything” “thank you and stay safe. Once this is over we need to have a long talk about your mother, you remind me so much of her” he wrapped her up in a hug and kissed the top of her head. She left and met Tommy in the hall. They headed out of the hotel and toward the car. “Back to Sarah’s?” Cassie asked. Tommy shook his head “nope we are going to meet my parents at the pack house and that is where you will be staying from now on.” Cassie was silent. She had wanted to meet his parents but not this fast. She shrugged her shoulders and was silent.

The ride to the pack house was uneventful much to their relief. When they pulled up to the house Cassie let out a low whistle and stared “you live here? My house looks like a shanty compared to this place”

Chapter 8

Cassie couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the pack house. It being a modest mansion was an understatement. This place looked like a castle. Tommy had to chuckle at her expression. Her eyes lit up and got as big around as golf balls. She did not believe that the house in front of her was where Tommy lived.

“This is the main house, I have my own house away from here” Tommy told her, she just nodded in response. They made their way to the front of the house before Tommy stopped the car and got out. Cassie was still awe struck and hadn't realized that Tommy had opened her door to help her out. “Come on sweetheart there are some people that would like to meet you” all Cassie could do was not her head. As they made their way to go meet Tommy’s parents Cassie could not believe how beautiful the inside of the house was, it immaculate. She suddenly felt under dressed to meet Tommy's parents. They came to a door at the end of the hall. Tommy looked at Cassie and told her to breathe. She let out a breath that she didn't realize she had been holding as Tommy knocked on the door.

“Come in” came a female voice from behind the door. Tommy opened the door and ushered Cassie inside. He kept his hand at the small of her back. Tommy’s parents looked up from their desks and met Tommy with a smile as they did a once over on Cassie. “Mom, Dad, I would like to introduce you to my mate, Cassie” Tommy said to them “Cassie I would like you to meet my parents Jerry, and Sherry. They are the former Alpha and Luna of our pack.” Cassie stepped forward to shake their hands and before she even move Tommy’s mom, Sherry engulfed her in a hug. Cassie just stood there stiff as a board, she couldn't move. “I am so glad that my son has finally found you, we were beginning to wonder if he would ever find his mate” Jerry, Tommy’s dad stood up and shook her hand “welcome to the family my dear” he said to her before sitting back down.

Tommy wanted to show Cassie the rest of the house and his place but his mother had other ideas. “So tell us about yourself, Cassie, how did you two meet, I haven’t seen you around the pack before?” Cassie wasn't sure how much she should tell them so she looked at Tommy for help. “Mom, Cassie will answer your questions later she is exhausted and I want to make sure she is ready to meet the rest of the pack tonight. Why don’t you plan a quick party for tonight to welcome our Luna home.” At the mention of a party Tommy’s mother went into overdrive. “There is so much to do, I have to let the cooks know the menu” she went on and Tommy’s father gave him a small smile and chuckled. One thing Tommy knew about his mother is if you mentioned party she lost her train of thought.

Tommy excused himself and Cassie and took Cassie on a tour of the house. She couldn’t help but look around in awe. She had never seen something this beautiful. She even mentioned it to Tommy and he told her that his mother designed it all, right down to the space between the steps. They passed by room after room, some where game rooms, some were movie theaters and others were bathrooms. They got to the top floor and Tommy to her to his bedroom at the main house. It was his and wasn’t tarnished by any other females presents. As she stepped into his room her mouth hit the floor. It was decorated with dark blues and grays. The bed was huge Cassie thought for sure she would get swallowed into it. The bathroom itself was as big as Cassie's old room.

She went to sit on the bed and it was comfy. Tommy just stood in the doorway watching her take everything in. He decided to wait on showing her his house until he had a chance to get a new bed and other new items. He didn't want anything left in his house that was touched by some other female. That was one of the reasons why he didn't want any females beside his mate in his bedroom in the main house. He wanted a special place just for his Luna.

Cassie looked at Tommy and motioned for him to come sit by her. He made his way over to the bed and sat down, she put her head on his shoulder. “First off I know I said I needed time but how you have been the past few months I am hoping I made the right decisions with you. Next, how do I answer your mother, I know they both had to of known I was a werewolf but not human either” she sighed and was quiet. “Well as far as my mother goes just tell her the truth, she has an uncanny ability to know when people are lying. And as far as we go I am glad you made the decision you did, I know I haven't been able to prove that I have changed yet but I will. You are the one that I want to be with and that isn't going to change no matter if you are human or werewolf.” Tommy leaned over and kissed her head.

Cassie suggested that they take a nap and wait for the party to start because she knew Tommy hadn’t slept and neither had she. She snuggled under the covers of his bed and Tommy had laid down beside her. She felt him snuggle as close as he could to her and wrapped his arms around her. Within seconds they were both out and managed to get a few hours in before there was a knock on the door. Cassie hadn't heard it but Tommy had. He grumbled as he unwound himself from her trying not to wake her up. He opened the door and Jake was standing there looking confused.

“Speak” Tommy said “Carol is here asking for you” Jake told him “are you freaking kidding me doesn’t she not realize that I don’t want anything to do with her. I haven't spoken or seen her in almost 2 months, get rid of her and I don't car how you do it” “yes Alpha”. Jake had left and Tommy made his way back to Cassie, who had not been woken. He crawled back in beside her until his mother came to let them know the party was starting at 8 and it was 7 now. They got up and got ready. Cassie had noticed a dark blue gown hanging on the back of the door. It was her size, she assumed Sherry had gotten it for her, she made a mental note to thank her for it later. As they got ready for the party Cassie became extremely nervous. Tommy had noticed this and wrapped her in a hug “don’t do that you will wrinkle the dress” Cassie scolded him. He just chuckled. “You look beautiful tonight. My mom really does have an eye for colors” he remarked. Before Cassie could respond there was a knock at the door. It was Sherry telling them to hurry up and that they 5 minutes to get their butts downstairs as they had guests waiting on them. Cassie looked at Tommy and shrugged her shoulders as she followed Tommy out the door.

As they made their way downstairs she noticed that the main room had gone through a complete makeover in a matter of hours. If they can do this in hours I would love to see what could be done if they had more time she thought to herself. As they reached the bottom of the stairs everyone was silent. Tommy grabbed her hand and cleared his throat “Ladies and gentlemen of Black Moon Pack it is my great honor to introduce to you my Mate and your Luna, Cassie” the crowd howled and cheered. People where coming up to congratulate them and give them well wishes. Cassie had never seen so many people crammed into a room before. After what seemed like hours they were finally able to make it to Sherry and Jerry. “You look stunning my dear, I just knew that color would suit you” Sherry told her “you don’t look to bad either my handsome son” Tommy blushed. Sherry gave Cassie a hug and kissed her cheek and Jerry shook her hand and welcomed her to the family. “When the party is over we need to have a talk with Cassie” Jerry said sternly as he looked at both Cassie and Tommy “there is something that need to be brought into the open. I do not like secrets among family. Cassie gulped and looked at Tommy who was unfazed by his father.

Chapter 9

After the party had died down Tommy, Cassie, Sherry, and Jerry made their way up to the office. Cassie was terrified as to what was going to happen while everyone else was calm and collect. When they got to the office Jerry entered first and then ushered them all inside. Jerry sat on the sofa next to Sherry while Tommy took a seat behind the desk Cassie stood by the door until Tommy pointed to a chair next to him for her to sit. As she sat down she noticed both of Tommy’s parents where staring at her waiting for some answer. She looked toward Tommy to see if he would be of any help but he just looked at her, it wasn’t his story to tell it was hers.

She cleared her throat and began to speak, her voice was shaky at first but got stronger as she spoke. “I know I owe you an explanation I guess.” she started off “it started on Friday when school had started, Carol was giving me a hard time and I ended up punching her, Tommy drug me out of the cafeteria and I slapped him for it. He tried to explain but I kissed him and told him he talked to much. He then took me and lead me away to privately talk and that is when he told me about being his mate, granted he left out the Alpha and Luna part. I told him I needed time as my last relationship didn't end well so we started hanging out more. One weekend we went on a picnic when he noticed a rouge wolf so he asked him what the wolf was doing there. He was looking for his lost human daughter, he was a werewolf and his mate was human. Well when Tommy came back the other wolf followed and claimed I was his missing daughter. I passed out and they had a DNA test done and I was this mans missing daughter. Steven, my father was out with the pack and when he came home he found my mother, Scooter dead and I was gone. He had looked for me for 17 years when he found me. Now apparently I have wolf strength and my eyes turn black but we are not sure if I will gain a wolf or not because I am only 17.” she took a breath and continued “I ended up here because my “brother” and my ex are friends and tried to keep me at the house with them. They even went as far as following us when we left my best friend, Sarah’s house. Tommy brought me here to keep me safe until we know the full extent of my wolfy powers” as she finished she looked over at Tommy who just nodded in agreement with everything she said. She dared a glance at Jerry and Sherry to see their reaction but the both looked stunned.

“That is impossible” Jerry said. Sherry looked at her husband and confirmed what Cassie had told them was true “but that would make her the only known human/wolf hybrid in the last 500 years. Packs talked about you how your father was the beta to Green Lake Pack but left his duty after he found his mate dead and daughter missing. They said he went blood blind at first and wouldn’t give up searching for his daughter even though he was told she was dead.” Jerry exclaimed as he rose from the sofa he was sitting on. Everyone was shocked by his out burst. Cassie didn't know what to say, Sherry looked at her like she had seen a ghost and Tommy looked at his father like he had lost his mind. After Jerry finally sat down Sherry spoke “My dear, sweet, Cassandra” she said with tears in her eyes, Cassie looked at her confused “you wouldn't remember but your mother and I were best friends, I was appointed as your god mother. I was devastated when I had heard what had happened and here you were right under my nose the entire time” Sherry got up and wrapped Cassie in a suffocating hug. They both cried for a few minutes. Tommy was still trying to comprehend what just happened.

There was no way that his Cassie was the same little girl that his mother kept a picture of in a locket. There must be some other explanation. Not only had fate given him a mate but brought Cassie home to the only family she had left. He was in shock. He needed to call Cassie's father and let him know the good news. He was sure Steven would like to know that Cassie found her god mother. Tommy might even make him a member of the pack just so he can be close to his daughter again.

As the tears and hugs continued Tommy asked to speak with his father in private. He wanted to know everything there was to know about human/wolf hybrids and his father had access to all of those records. As they stepped out into the hallway Tommy ran his hand through his hair and looked at his father. “I don't think I have ever seen mom this happy” Tommy said “this is the third happiest day of her life next to her wedding day and having you” his father replied. “Dad, I need to know everything about the human/wolf hybrids. I know you have those records under lock and key. This is my mate and future Luna we are talking about and I need to know why she was taken” Jerry shook his head as he understood his sons concerns. He handed Tommy the key to a compartment in the library. He then instructed him that in the compartment was the information he was looking for. He also warned Tommy that he may not like what he found. Tommy didn't care he needed to know what his mate was and if she was in any danger.

Tommy peaked his head back into the office and saw two tear stained faces looking back at him. It was now almost midnight and he knew Cassie had to be tired. “Mom, I hate to break up this reunion but can you continue it another time its getting late and I know Cassie has had an eventful couple of days” his mother nodded as she looked at Cassie “we will finish our talk tomorrow” Cassie nodded. She then followed Tommy up to their room. As they were getting ready for bed Tommy handed Cassie one of his shirts, she looked at it and just smiled as she put it on. She then climbed into bed and put her head on Tommy’s chest. She had fallen asleep listening to his heart beat. Tommy on the other hand was wide awake. He was playing with Cassie's hair when he noticed she had fallen asleep. He waited a few minutes to make sure she was really out and slowly got out of bed. Jasper wined as he wanted to spend the night in his mates arms but he knew what had to be done.

Slowly, Tommy made his way out of the bedroom and made his way to the library and found the compartment his father was talking about. When he opened it he found a book covered in dust. He blew the dust off and ended in a coughing fit. He then opened the book and skimmed through the pages until he found what he was looking for. There were several pages about the human/wolf hybrids and they all said the same thing, once a hybrid turns 18 if they do not show they have a wolf by the fall moon then they will die. It didn’t look good for Cassie. He continued reading, it also said that if the human started showing signs of wolf strength then there was a slim chance they would survive with out their wolf form. Tommy had read enough, he knew that Cassie's birthday was next week and the fall moon was a few days after that. He didn’t like the odds that were stacked against them. He just found his mate and now he was going to lose her. Both him and Jasper agreed that that was not going to happen.

After trying to find something that was good news and coming up empty he headed back to his room. Thankfully Cassie was still asleep and sleeping soundly as Tommy crawled in next to her. He wrapped his arms around her as tight as he could without waking her up. He promised himself that he would find a scenario where she survived and would be with him for a long time, even if he had to kill every person that got in his way.
