Cameron Matheson's character baffles fans of 'General Hospital'

Viewers continue to suggest names for the new man in Port Charles. So far it continues to remain a mystery.

General Hospital viewers, as well as a number of news outlets and spoiler alerts, seem to have Cameron Matheson on the brain. They all are asking the million-dollar question and no one as of yet has found an answer, Everyone wants to know the identity of the character Matheson will play when he arrives in Port Charles. So far this has remained a well guarded secret. There have been no credible sources or set side leakers who have said with certainty who Matheson will portray.

For this reason, the list of character possibilities just keeps on growing. First, it was suggested that he might show up as Drew Cain, the next rumor was that he might be Dr. Steven Weber. Now there are those who suggest that Matheson might portray Liz Weber's father Jeff. There is also the possibility that the actor could arrive in Port Chuck as a totally new character and this brings up another issue.

General Hospital fans are troubled that new faces are continuing to pop up on the ABC daytime drama while fan favorites have been let go. Roger Howarth was killed off as Franco but is supposed to return as a different character. There has been no word on when he will come back or who he will be this time around. Some viewers thought perhaps he might show up this third time as Drew but now GH watchers are perplexed regarding both actors and the characters they will play.

It's also not clear when Cameron will debut in his new role and inquiring minds do want to know. Some have suggested that it will be during May Sweeps but this has not been confirmed. Soap fans recall that the actor portrayed Ryan Lavery on All My Children from 1998-2011. General Hospital fans have mixed feelings because they are still angry over the firing of William deVry,(Julian Jerome), Ashton Arbib, (Dev Cerci), Mark Lawson, (Dustin Phillips), and Emme Rylan, (Lulu Falconeri).

Since that time Sonny ended up with amnesia and found himself in Nixon Falls with Lenn and Phyllis Caulfiled, and Elijah Crowe. Viewers have been saying on social media that they would have preferred the show to keep the characters they had grown to know and love, instead of bringing in new ones who will not be around for the long haul. There are also those who wonder if Matheson will bring Ryan Lavery from Pine Valley to Port Charles.

This mystery is causing a lot of buzz and General Hospital fans simply want to know the facts. Who the actor will be and how his character will affect life in Poer Charles is what viewers need to be answered. Matheson could show up as a resident of Nixon Falls, or perhaps be one of the doctors treating Jax for his gunshot wound. Just because the actor is well known does not necessarily indicate that he will have a long term role on GH.

Vincent Irizarry had the role of a doctor on the Bold and the Beautiful not long ago. it was assumed by fans that because of his star power he would be on the show long term in a high profile storyline. The popular soap vet was only on the CBS drama for a few episodes which shocked his followers. At this point, there are 5 possibilities being thrown around for who Matheson will be on General Hospital so let's look at them again.
