Season 24 of The Bachelor premiered on ABC on Monday night, January 6, 2020. The reality show was on the air for three hours. Other episodes won't be as long.

People have known for months that 28-year-old pilot Peter Weber would be the bachelor after Hannah Brown rejected him on her season of The Bachelorette. Even so, Hannah B. showed up twice during the premiere which the 30 contestants did not like. One woman exclaimed that Hannah has had her chance.

Peter had no idea Hannah was going to show up. She was the last woman to get out of the limo. She talked to Peter outside the mansion, but she didn't go inside. She returned the wings Peter gave her when he first met her during her season. It was an indication of closure so Peter could focus on the women who are there vying for his love.

About Peter Weber

Peter Weber was born on August 4, 1991. He followed in his father's footsteps to become a pilot. His father met his mother while he was a pilot and she was a flight attendant. Peter's younger brother Jack is also a pilot.

Peter has been a pilot for nine years. He worked as a commercial pilot for Compass Airlines for three years from 2015 to 2018. He became a commercial pilot for Delta Air Lines in 2018 where he still works.

Peter loves his job as a pilot. In fact, he dropped out of Baylor University, a private Baptist Christian school in Waco, Texas to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot. He said he wants to keep flying until he ages out at 65. After he left The Bachelorette, he went right back to flying for Delta. At the time, his regular schedule was flying from LAX to NYC, Hawaii and Central America.

Peter lives at home with his parents in Westlake Village, California. It is not that he can't afford his own place to live. As a pilot, he is almost never at home because he is usually between destinations. The house Peter shares with his family is about five minutes from the bachelor mansion.

Peter is accustomed to being on television. When he was a teen, he appeared in an episode of Days of Our Lives. Viewers were first introduced to Peter as an adult when he was a contestant on Season 15 of The Bachelorette during Hannah Brown's season. Fans associate him with being intimate with Hannah four times in the windmill while the show was being filmed in Crete.

Weber was one of Hannah's top three picks, but after she eliminated him from The Bachelorette, he became the next bachelor. Because he is a pilot, there are many references to airplanes and flying on the show. Many of the women brought airline props with them when they met Peter for the first time. One woman came inside a piece of luggage.

Peter has said several times that he is looking for a co-pilot. There were three flight attendants among the women on the show. They did not have an advantage over the other women. All three of them were among the eight women sent home on the very first night.

After Filming The Bachelor

The filming of The Bachelor ended back in November 2019. So, what do viewers already know about Peter's journey? Peter says he feels great and is happy. He wants people to watch his story as it unfolds. He concluded that it was the most amazing experience of his life, and the ending is different from other finales.

Peter said he was looking for a woman with a heart full of love who is adventurous and values family as much as he does. The pilot says no one will know if he is engaged until the series ends. No matter who Peter chooses to be his wife, she will have to share him with his white poodle mix, Tripp.

Not the First Pilot

This is not the first time a pilot has been the bachelor. Jake Pavelka from Dallas, Texas was also a pilot when he was the bachelor in Season 14 that aired from January 6 to March 1, 2010. At the time, The Bachelor had only 25 women as contestants. He became engaged to Vienna Girardi, but their engagement was called off in June 2010.
