Mark Grossman and Courtney Hope portray Adam Newman and Sally Spectra on The Young and the Restless who have a complicated romantic history. The couple's real-time relationship has been vexing fans for 9 months because the duo has neither confirmed nor denied anything about their personal lives. A recent image of the two has Y&R viewers who had thought they were broken up wondering what the truth is about the duo.

The picture below shows the two smiling and front and center in an image of the Y&R cast. It's not clear when this was taken because Kelsey Wang (Allie Nguyen) is in the photo and she has not been on screen in a while. Viewers were stunned last December when images appeared online of Mark and Courtney together in Mexico looking like two people in love. Neither of them ever commented on their status but fans and spoilers assumed they were madly in love. At that time nothing had been said about Grossman breaking up with Sharon Case (Sharon Newman) is why the photos were so shocking.

Hope scrubbed her social media clean

A few months back eagle-eyed viewers of The Young and the Restless noticed that Courtney no longer had pictures of Mark on social media. Hope married Chael Duel (Michael Corinthos on General Hospital) on Halloween in 2021 but by January had scrubbed her accounts of all of their wedding photos. GH fans noticed and began suspecting the couple had split and it turned out to be true. Was Hope simply messing with fans to keep them guessing and out of her business or did she and Grossman break up only to make up?

Y&R fans may never know the truth

The cover photo seems to suggest that Courtney Hope and Mark Grossman are indeed a couple especially since the above article says she mentioned that she loves him. These two are as private as Mark and Sharon were when their 3-year romance ended. Fans wanted to know if Hope had been the reason Case and Grossman were no longer an item or if the relationship came after the split but not one of the 3 said anything.

On-screen there was a long period were Sharon was only shown behind the counter in her Coffee House and she did not have scenes with Adam or Sally. When Shaddam was finally shown together Sharon's hair covered most of her face and she was shown from the back a lot leaving some viewers to wonder if a body double had been used. Now all 3 characters have been in scenes together and no one would ever guess that there had been any tension outside of The Young and the Restless studio.

It's complicated on and off-screen

Meanwhile, Chad Duell has moved on with Luana Lucci who recently gave birth to their son. Regarding his relationship with Hope, the actor stated that they were never really married but did not elaborate. It seems obvious at this point that neither Mark Grossman nor Courtney Hope are going to say anything but fans are still curious. Sharon Case has remained silent on the break up as well as her ex moving on so it looks like the 3 will remain professional about it all.

On-screen Sally is still with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) but many fans do not believe it will last. Sally seems done with Adam because of his inability to stop holding grudges and they no longer have a baby to bond them. Sharon slept with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) once and their relationship seems to have stalled.
