Start

movie was a very slow start, I mean with this plot you would expect some action however you will be seriously disappointed as it is seriously just people crying and being D-bags to eachother for the first 28 minutes of the film. And it takes FOREVER to build up the plot, however I will day having Kroger southern play the villian is always a smart move as he easily brings charm to any role he plays, so atleast this film has that going for it but not much else at it takes 30 minutes to even semi kick-off the plot

This kind of plot can be easily messed up with ridiculous plots, over-dramatic characters, stereotypes of the genre ect. and seeing as this isn't a marvel or DC movie where those work then it would have for sure ruined the film however this movie knows how to play the game and avoids the pitfall many other films I'm it's genre fall into and as such this film gets very passable to watch at of the 30 minute mark. While the movie still is very slow and has alot of fake outs but it still is excellent at building up tension within its universe and makes you really feel the danger southerland brings. An eye for an eye also has a very well thought out protagonist really portraying her as a desperate mother who will do anything to see her daughter's rapist get what he deserves, and the actress is just amazing in this role. Every actor and actress really feels like they are at home in there characters and that is not something we see often in Hollywood and yet we see it clearly in this low-budget made for TV film and they play it with such realism that you could actualy think these are real people going thru this and that is a for sure way to get the audience hooked.. it definitely got me hooked.

Keifer southerland does AMAZING as the villian really playing up the bad guy who is arrogant and thinks he is invincible, part really well, and the scene were the cop confronts southerland in the library was just gorgeous as with southerland full of snark and honestly it was pretty funny, which is a good think to see in a movie that for the most part is a really serious film. Southerland is expesially good when he helps that little girl from a bully then joins in play with her, it is a sweet scene but it definitely has a air of creepy undertone to it that southerland plays beautifully, and the reactions of the young actress really makes it feel very natural and fluent and while you don't see the rape 50 min in, it is just heavily implied however the scene really makes you uncomfortable watching as the young actress easily matched the creepy vibe southerland gave off by giving off a vibe of innocent and ignorance and it is truly a high display of talent given her young age.

Overall this is a Great film, slow start, but once u get past the 30 minute mark it is an all around great movie to watch.
