It is 2019, and we are in the middle of a new age of comic book movies. More specifically, it is the Golden Age of Marvel Comics-based movies—and cinephiles will be quick to agree.

Directors and producers are finally giving comic books the love and attention they deserve. After seeing the breakout success of the first X-Men movie, movie professionals started to realize that it was time to give great storylines and characters a chance to come to life.

Studios are making these films at a breakneck speed. For Marvel fans, this is great news. The days of waiting for a single comic book movie per year are now gone. We've already seen the likes of Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and others on the silver screen in 2018.

2019 is going to be equally intense for MCU movies. If you want to plan your movie nights ahead, you need to hear about some of the hottest upcoming Marvel movies that will be hitting theaters soon.

One of the most anticipated upcoming Marvel movies right now is Captain Marvel. Along with giving this beloved superhero her first real decent amount of time onscreen, this movie is expected to come out fairly soon.

In this upcoming film, Captain Marvel will be caught between two warring alien races. This film is going to be one of the most visually striking movies in the franchise—contrary to what Captain Marvel's 90s-themed site might suggest.

Captain Marvel comes out on March 8, 2019.

Oh, Avengers! You had so many adventures and fights on the silver screen. You gained so many fans! Avengers: Infinity War had one of the biggest turnouts in recent box office history.

But, storylines have to have an arc's end. It seems like Avengers: Endgame might be it. Many fans are worried that Avengers: Endgame may be more emotionally devastating than Infinity War was.

The story takes off with Tony Stark, lost in space, trying to gather Pepper Potts and the rest of the Avengers for a final showdown with Thanos. The fate of all life hangs in the balance, but can they save us from the ultimate baddy?

Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26, 2019.

The Dark Phoenix storyline is considered to be one of the best X-Men storylines ever written. In it, Jean Grey loses control of her emotions and spirals down a dark path. Eventually, her powers become unmanageable and she becomes the Dark Pheonix.

Hostile and filled with destructive force, Jean is no longer the gentle person she once was. Dark Phoenix takes us on the battle X-Men have to fight in order to save the world from one of their most powerful members—and keep her out of alien hands.

Seeing this storyline in action makes it one of the most fan-approved upcoming MCU movies in recent years. We've been waiting for this one.

Dark Phoenix comes out on June 7, 2019.

With his Southern twang and killer cards, it was only a matter of time before Gambit got his own movie. A lot of upcoming Marvel movies focus in on individual heroes, you know.

This cool movie is still in production, but so far, some scenes have already leaked out. It's not totally certain what the full plot will be for Gambit, but so far, we do know that Channing Tatum will be in it alongside costar Lizzie Caplan.

Gambit will be coming out on March 13, 2019.

After the demise of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man, it's going to be very hard to get many people interested in the upcoming Marvel movies featuring Peter Parker. I mean, those Tobey Maguire movies were insanely popular.

Even so, Spider-Man: Far From Home might be able to bring crowds in, When Nick Fury calls Spidey in for help, the hero's European vacation gets crashed. The Elementals are wreaking havoc, and it's up to Spidey and Mysterio to kick butt.

Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out on July 5, 2019.

Rumors have swirled about the X-Men franchise as it's gotten a lot more love in recent years. One of the rumored upcoming MCU movies is The New Mutants, which will focus on teenagers who are trying to hide their powers while living in a compound. People have been appreciating The New Mutants: The History of Magik comic books, so fans are very eager for a movie adaption.

There have been some words about it being canceled, but it seems that The New Mutants is still on track to hit theaters. This will give audiences a chance to meet the new generation of X-Men.

The New Mutants is slated to hit theaters August 2, 2019.

Black Panther 2

We're now starting to eke into the realm of upcoming Marvel movies that are a little bit less set in stone. We all know that Black Panther was a major blockbuster, a huge box office hit, and it's destined to have a sequel. We also know that the Prince of Wakanda already signed a contract for another flick.

We don't know much else about Black Panther 2 at the moment, but it's safe to say it's in the work.

Black Panther 2 has yet to announce a finish date.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

If you were hoping to see another Guardians of the Galaxy happen, I got sad news. Disney fired director James Gunn, and put the film on pause for the time being, though fans were already jumping at the bit for a third.

However, there's still some glimmer of hope here. If Disney manages to find a new director and decides to push through, we might get to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. There's been a lot of uncertainty and some rumors too, such as that Chris Pratt is helping to write Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. With director drama abound, we can only keep our fingers crossed that it'll still happen.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. is TBA, if at all possible.

Silver and Black

Silver and Black was supposed to be an upcoming movie about superheroines Silver Sable and Black Cat. Unfortunately, the movie has already become a major thorn in Sony's side.

After multiple attempts to get a workable script and trying to tie in characters together, the project was scrapped in favor of giving fans two separate movies. One movie will be on Black Cat, the other will be on Silver Sable.

No word on the official titles, or when the due date is. Hopefully, Sony won't scrap it. There may be a lot on this list, but as a MCU fan, there can never be too many upcoming Marvel movies.
