All My Children alum Alec Musser who portrayed Del Henry has passed away
Although he was not acting in later years the soap star is being fondly remembered.

Former AMC actor Alec Musser has passes away
Actor Alec Musser, who was well known for starring in the television shows "All My Children" and "Desperate Housewives," has died. His fiancée Paige Press announced the news on Instagram on Saturday but some reports say he died on Friday at the age of 50. Press wrote the following in two separate Instagram posts.
"RIP to the love of my life. @alecmusser. I will never stop loving you. My heart is broken,"
"Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy," she continued in another post.
Alec Musser in the early years
Musser was born on April 11, 1973 and raised in New Jersey and Connecticut. he attended the Westminster School before moving to San Diego where he attended the University of San Diego. He credits his parents with instilling good morals, a strong work ethic, a respect for education and a love for sports and travel in him from an early age.
After college he worked for 3 years on the professional ski patrol at Mammoth Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in America. During off-seasons Alec worked as a lifeguard.
Musser's modeling career
He was also a model who signed with Silver Model Management in New York City. He worked with Nous Model Management in Los Angeles until 2008.
Alec had travelled to places as far off as Paris, Greece, South Africa, Australia and Hawaii, modelling for clients such as Gianfranco Ferré, GQ, Cosmopolitan, Men's Health, Speedo and Target.(Wikipedia)
Musser's competitive nature
Alec was into sports and fitness and his competitive nature isbelieved to have come fromn interactions with a sibling.
Musser competed with his older brother of John for everything from grades to sports to girls. This sense of competition served Alec well growing up as a star athlete competing in football, ice hockey and lacrosse and as a star pupil graduating with high honors from both high school and college.
Desperate Housewives and All My Children
Musser portrayed Fredrich a masseur on Desperate Housewives in the 2012, episode "Watch While I Revise the World". He portrayed Del Henry in “All My Children,” in 43 episodes from 2005 and 2007 taking over for Winston Harmon who originated the character in 1994.
He was awarded his role when he won the second season of the SOAPnet original series “I Wanna Be a Soap Star.”Other TV shows and movies Musser starred in include “Grown Ups,” “Rita Rocks,” “Desperate Housewives” and “Road to the Altar.” (per Page Six)
Henry's birth name was Delbert Hunkle and his deceased parents were Paul "Seabone" Hunkle and Lila Kirby Hunkle. He was related to some of the most notable characters on All My Children.
William "Will" Cortlandt (James Patrick Stewart) was his paternal half-brother. Dixie Cooney (Cady McClain and Melanie "Lanie" Cortlandt ( Page Turco) were his paternal half-sisters. Diana "Di" Henry (Kelly Giddish) was his only full sibling.

Musser was in the TV sitcom Rita Rocks in 2009 as a plumber and had roles in the films Road to the Altar (2009) as Camera Guy and Grown Ups (2010) as Guy in the Waterpark. The actor's uncle Robert confirmed that he died in his Del Mar, California home but no cause of death has been given at this time.
It looks like the actor, former model and sports enthusiast lived life to the fullest but at 50 he is gone to soon and his soap fans are mourning him. Condolences to his fiancee, uncle, fans, friends, and all who loved Alec Musser.
