5 Things Captain America and Red Skull Said to Each Other When He Returned the Soul Stone

The climax of 'Avengers: Endgame' didn't show Steve Rogers' meeting with the Red Skull, but we have a good idea of a few things they might've said to each other.

In the final moments of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers ventures through the time-portal to return the Infinity Stones to their proper places in history. The audience doesn't get to see how Steve manages this without disrupting the timeline, but he does one way or another.

What's of interest is how Steve Rogers' meeting with the Red Skull went. The former Hydra Commander became an apparition charged with protecting the Soul Stone after The First Avenger, granting him a new role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As such, he presented the Soul Stone to both Thanos and Hawkeye and presumably accepted it from Steve when he returned with the stone.

The thing we're most curious about is how they reacted to each other. Steve probably had some choice words for Red Skull while his arch-nemesis likely stuck to his signature wit during their conversation. We don't know if that's true but there's a good chance they said some of the following phrases to each other. Check them out below.

"I should've known you weren't dead." - Steve Rogers

In an all likelihood, Steve was probably surprised to see the Red Skull still alive. He had no idea what happened to him at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, and the burst of energy released from the Tesseract made it appear as though Red Skull had been disintegrated. Thus giving reason to why Steve would be surprised to see his arch-nemesis still alive.

"I've watched your adventures, Captain America. My how you've grown." - Red Skull

Since the Red Skull possesses vast knowledge of the universe, it goes to reason that he's occasionally looked in on Steve Rogers at times. And if that's the case, he probably watched as Steve fought off a brainwashed Bucky, Hydra Agents, and the other baddies he's tangled with.

The unclear aspect is how Red Skull viewed them. Did he see Cap's endeavors as pointless or beneficial to humanity? Or did the Red Skull's gained knowledge make Earthly matters of little concern to him?

"Steve Rogers. Forever the time traveler." - Red Skull

Assuming Red Skull has been watching over the Earth during his time away, he likely witnessed Steve Rogers' getting frozen and popping up in 2012. At the same time, Red Skull likely witnessed Steve hopping back to the Battle Of New York, the 1960s, and the other stops he made before reaching Vormir.

All in all, labeling Steve Rogers a time traveler is an accurate assessment. And technically speaking, he's traveled through time more than any other Avenger.

"I understand how the stone works, but is there any chance of bringing Natasha back?" - Steve Rogers

Apart from the shock factor, Steve would likely put his petty differences aside to inquire about Black Widow. He knows she was sacrificed to retrieve the Soul Stone, and Steve would probably try to resurrect her in exchange for it back. Who knows, Steve might have even offered it to Red Skull in exchange for Nat's soul. Then again, the conclusion of Endgame tells us his mission was unsuccessful.

(Following a brief physical altercation) "I can do this all day." - Steve Rogers

Out of all the scenarios possible, Steve taking a swing at the Red Skull is very likely. They have a complicated past together, and the opportunity to put a beating on his arch-nemesis sounds like something Cap would do.

The intriguing bit is what kind of offensive abilities Red Skull now possesses. He's this sort of apparition that can float through the air, but it's unclear if Red Skull possesses other powers as well. Then again, they may be of little use if Cap had Thor's hammer by his side.

Avengers: Endgame is available on DVD/Blu-Ray/ and VOD.
