5 Must Watch Mind-Bending Movies That Will Boggle Your Brain

Fractured (2019)

Here is the second appearance of this movie on a movie list. Not only was it the top viral movie of February 2023, but it is also extremely mind-bending.

Follow the story of two parents and their daughter on a cross-country road trip. Along the ride, they decide to take a rest stop at an old gas station. During the stop, the father turns around to find his daughter falling from a ledge. He jumps from the ledge to help her, and then they rush her to the hospital.

While at the hospital, they are happy to hear the doctor say that she would be fine, but they ask to run a few tests to make sure. They agree, and the mother and daughter are taken to the examining room. Meanwhile, the father dozes off in the waiting room.

Hours later, he woke up and asks the nurses how much longer the tests would take. That is when the nurse informs him that his daughter was never checked in as a patient. Soon he finds that things are not what they seem in this hospital, and he must uncover the truth to find his family.

Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022)

When a woman finds herself in an unhappy marriage and a challenging relationship with her father and daughter, she is also struggling to keep her family's laundromat business afloat. That is when she is thrown on a mind-bending journey through the multi-verse, where she can see any and every possible variation of her life.

While at the same time, she finds herself battling a sinister and unsuspecting force. At some point, she will have to make a choice: face the reality of her universe or risk existence to stay in one she doesn't belong.

Inception (2010)

Follow the story of a very skilled thief who has the ability to enter dreams and steal secrets from his victim's subconscious. After his success causes him to lose everything he loves, he takes on one last job to redeem himself.

At first, all is going well, until he finds himself battling with complications of the mission. Then to make matters worse, he is met with a very dangerous and unsuspecting enemy. He must complete the mission and wake himself up before it's too late.

This movie undoubtedly makes the list because its ending will leave you questioning everything.

Shutter Island (2010)

Another excellent and mind-bending Leonardi DiCaprio movie is Shutter Island. Watch as he plays the role of a US Marshall struggling with a traumatic past. He is soon contracted to go to an insane asylum and look into the disappearance of one of their patients. During the investigation, he and his partner find that there is something suspicious happening within the asylum, and he is determined to figure out the truth.

Flightplan (2005)

This movie is a mind-bender that was frequently compared to Fractured, the first one on our list. It follows the story of an airplane engineer who is on an international flight home. During the flight, she doses off with her daughter seated next to her. What was supposed to be a smooth flight, turns into a nightmare when she wakes up mid-flight to find her daughter missing. In the search for her child, she is told that her daughter was never aboard the flight. Soon she finds herself struggling with her sanity while trying to uncover the truth of what happened to her daughter.
