5 More Marvel Comics Characters That Need Screen Time

I already shared my top five, but how could I just stop at just five characters I'd love to see join the MCU when there are so many more? And with Infinity War, we can expect many more to join.

Captain Britain

Born to Lord James Braddock and Lady Elizabeth Braddock, he grew up at his family's ancestral home in Essex, England. Bleeding to death after a motorcycle accident, he was found by Merlin who gave him the choice to live if he became Britain's next great champion, becoming Captain Britain.

I think it's important, in the wake of Civil War and as we approach the Infinity War movies, that we continue to see the international effect that our heroes and their decisions are having in both positive and negative ways.

With #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan seemingly separated -- for now -- and building their numbers, what better way to introduce other international heroes, such as Brian Braddock's Captain Britain? Particularly with Doctor Strange joining the fold in some capacity in November.

Fun fact: In the comics, Braddock was roommates with Peter Parker at Empire State University.

Fan Cast: Charlie Hunnam

Swordsman

Jacques DuQuesne is one of the circus performers to train the young Clint Barton before he became Hawkeye. Deeply in debt due to a gambling problem, the Swordsman went on to commit various international crimes. He sought out the Avengers thinking he would be led to much bigger crimes if he posed as a hero. His inquiry was initially refused, as he wasn't trusted, but eventually he became a part of the team.

This could be great to see some of Hawkeye's backstory come to light as well as give us a sort of anti-hero who struggles with being a villain, but is also not the best hero.

Fun Fact: While an Avenger, he developed a crush on the Scarlet Witch.

Fan Cast: Rufus Sewell

Echo

Maya Lopez was born deaf to a mob enforcer father killed by the Kingpin. Wilson Fisk then took her in, being impressed with her talents, sending her to the best schools money could buy. Having deep ties to the Hand and Daredevil, who would suggest to Captain America to add her to the Avengers, Maya eventually took the identity of Ronin, meaning "a masterless samurai."

When Rosario Dawson was cast in Netflix/Marvel's Daredevil, I thought for sure she was going to be Maya Lopez, so I've been hoping for this character for a long time now. It would add more much needed diversity to the MCU, but with her connection to the Kingpin and Daredevil, it may make it difficult to use her in the movies. She also has connection to Moon Knight, who would also be awesome to bring into the fold.

Fun Fact: Maya possesses photographic reflexes, the same ability as the Taskmaster, making her an expert in many arenas of life.

Fan Cast: Ashley Callingbull

Red Hulk

General Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross, the man who helped in creating the incredible Hulk and became perhaps his most frequent nemesis. After years of chasing the Hulk, and with the assistance of A.I.M. and the Intelligencia, Ross and Doc Samson -- Betty's rebound in The Incredible Hulk -- created the Red Hulk in Ross' vendetta against Bruce Banner.

We've seen very little of this character in the MCU, played by William Hurt in The Incredible Hulk, and hopes were high that we would get a glimpse of the red behemoth with Hurt's reprisal of the role in Captain America: Civil War. Though we didn't get the Red Hulk this time around, I've been dreaming to see him on the big screen soon. It would be another great addition to Bruce Banner's story and, if done right, would be incredible to see.

Fun Fact: Red Hulk has the power to absorb energy from his enemies attacks.

Taskmaster

Former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Tony Masters gained the ability to observe others' physical movements and copy them without practicing, no matter the complexity. The downside to this incredible power? Those memories gained from watching others overwrite his personal memories, which led him to forgot his own history, including his wife and involvement with S.H.I.E.L.D.

My knowledge of Taskmaster is mostly from the Ultimate Spider-Man the animated series, and if that's any indication of his overwhelming abilities I think he'd be a great addition to the MCU in any capacity. He's gone up against a surprising number of Marvel heroes, has connections with General Ross and the Thunderbolts, and was even asked to become a member of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Secret Avengers team. The possibilities with this character are nearly limitless, so I would be shocked if he didn't show up in at least the Netflix part of the MCU.

Fun Fact: Taskmaster wears a skull mask that is inspired by Santa Muerte, Saint Death "The Lady of Shadows".
