Big Brother Naija is one of the most popular and prolific television shows in Nigeria and Africa. With a cash prize of millions of naira each year as well as other prizes including cars and even apartments, it is no surprise why every year, hundreds and thousands of people turn up at the audition centers to fight for entry into the house.

We get to know these contestants inside the house and just as soon as they step into the house, past information about them as well as things they reveal on the show start to tell us more about the types of people they are.

For some of these contestants, their coming into the show was by fire by force so much so that they’d been threatened to be disowned if they went in while for others, they were disowned after leaving the Big Brother Naija house.

Without further ado, here are 3 Big Brother Naija Housemates Who At One Point or Another Have Been Disowned By Their Parents. Are you ready to jump in? Then let’s go!

1. Dorathy Bachor

In July of 2020, Dorathy Bachor started making headlines when reports of her being disowned started circulating.

Dorathy Bachor famously entered into the Big Brother Naija house and during a diary session with Big Brother disclosed that she needed to win the prize money because her family had warned her to not return home after the show was over.

Eventually Dorathy did not go on to win the show, as fellow contestant Laycon won by a landslide.

While she never really addressed what happened with that after the show, it seems her and her family are still on talking terms because she spent Christmas with her family and her mother even brought mortar and pestle for pounded yam.

2. Ike

In August of 2019, news of Ike's disowning started making the rounds.

While in the Big Brother house, Big Brother Naija contestant Ike Onyema while professing love to fellow contestant Mercy Eke disclosed that he was not on talking terms with his father because his father had tried to disown him more than six times. He told her that his parents do not show him love the way she does.

After making such a confession, Mercy tried to reassure him telling him that they must have loved him for at least sending him to school to become a better person.

Wow, not his parents trying to disown him more than SIX times! That’s crazy.

3. Khloe

Finally, Big Brother Naija Khloe caused headlines in 2020 when stories of her own ‘disowning’ started to make the rounds.

It all happened because the outspoken and sometimes controversial reality star and actress tweeted out saying,

Did my mum just disowned me and my siblings over Whatsapp message because none of us pays attention when she talks about marriage.

While I think this was a joke, this tweet did go on to cause headlines and it is still actually unclear if Khloe was playing or was really disowned by her mother for this. My guess though is that she was most probably just playing.

That’s All.
