Splitgate wasn't made for PC players.

This game is made with consoles and controller players in mind.

If you have not heard of the game Splitgate, then you have been living under a rock, because this game has taken the f2p genre by storm and is surprisingly good, even with all the weird servers issues and playability issues that it has. This game is free, so you can't really blame it too much, but one aspect of the game is so hideous that they don't even try to hide that the game isn't for keyboard and Mouse players and that they favour strongly controller players and console players.

If you don't believe me then I will tell you about a couple features that makes us keyboard and mouse players at a disadvantage to the game. The first one is that when the game first launched, only the console version had the choice to turn off crossplay. So the console players could choose to play with pc players or not, while in turn the pc community had to play with everyone and anyone that had the game. That wouldn't be too bad if the devs did not favour the console and controller players. You keep hearing me say that they favour the console and controller players and have not explained myself on that. Here I go explaining that part right now.

Splitgate has an option for console and controller players to have aim assist on. When the game first launched there was no option whatsoever to disable that feature (console and controller players wouldn't have turned it off anyways.) This was a huge disadvantage for keyboard and mouse players because those using a controller just had to look in your direction and they would stick to you like freaking glue and kill you before you even had to chance to manually aim your gun at them. Now at distances we can out maneuver them, but as soon as the combat is close quarters (which most of the games are) then we don't stand a chance against their little aim assist crap. Enough players complained and complained and they put out some features that "helped" keyboard and mouse players. They made it to where we could turn off crossplay as well, well that is nice and all but that doesn't fix the problem of the other pc players using a controller and having that aim assist available to them.

The other feature they put in was controller players could now elect how much aim assist they have, from 0% to 100%. You know darn well that these console and controller players are not going to voluntarily turn off an advantage they have against other players. All they need to do is make keyboard and mouse players matched with other keyboard and mouse players or just take that stupid aim assist completely off because it turns that game into a messy pile of bile. Shooter games are no fun if the other teams have to do is look at you and they are locked on tighter than Joe Biden seeing a little girl in the audience.

The game was really fun I do have to admit, but the stupid aim assist is just horrible and needs to be removed from the game. There is no skill whatsoever in just looking at someone and being able to hit them with every bullet. Certain game modes like one in the chamber and gun game are such a disadvantage for keyboard and mouse players because we have to manually aim, but before we get the chance we get killed by an aim assisted player who acts like they are a pro gamer because they can't miss a shot with that stupid feature on.

All and all the game is good. If you use a controller or a console go ahead and try it out. If you are strictly a keyboard and mouse player (which every pc player should be, but some people are just unclassy) then I would suggest you wait it out and see if they take the aim assist off. Thumper, The Super Cool Ski Instructor said it best, "You're Gonna Have a Bad Time." That is all for this one. Thanks for reading and have fun.
