I’ve talked about EA Sports games in some of my previous posts. You can find the links to those games at the end of this post. But today, I want to chat about UFC and the awesome new version they’re working on right now. It’s going to be epic!

What are the UFC games?

Let me tell you about the UFC games! If you’re a fan of mixed martial arts (MMA) and video games, these bad boys are right up your alley. The UFC games are the closest thing you can get to stepping into the octagon without actually getting your face smashed in. They’re like a virtual brawl-fest where you can play as your favorite fighters and throw down in epic battles.

First things first, these games are developed and published by EA Sports. You know, the same guys behind those awesome FIFA and Madden titles. So, you can expect some top-notch graphics and gameplay. They’ve really nailed it when it comes to capturing the intensity and excitement of the UFC.

One of the most popular titles in the series is “UFC 4.” It came out in 2020 and boy, oh boy, it’s a blast! The roster of fighters is massive, featuring all the big names you know from the UFC.

From Conor McGregor to Jon Jones, you can step into their shoes and unleash your fury on your opponents. The attention to detail is insane. The fighters’ animations, the way they move, and the devastating strikes they throw are incredibly realistic.

But it’s not just about the fighters. The game also has an in-depth career mode where you can create your own fighter and guide them through the ranks. You start as a rookie and work your way up, training, fighting, and earning fans along the way. It’s like living the dream of becoming a UFC champion.

The gameplay itself is intense and satisfying. You have a variety of strikes, grapples, and submissions at your disposal. Timing and strategy are key if you want to dominate your opponents. Whether you prefer to stand and trade punches or take the fight to the ground, the game offers a ton of options to suit your style.

Speaking of options, the game also features different game modes like knockout mode, tournament mode, and online multiplayer. So, if you’re tired of beating up the AI, you can take on your buddies and see who’s the king of the octagon. It’s a great way to settle those virtual grudges.

In terms of visuals, the game is stunning. The arenas look authentic, and the crowd reactions add to the atmosphere. You can almost hear the roar of the crowd as you go toe-to-toe with your opponent. The commentary is on point too, adding that extra layer of excitement to each fight.

UFC 5 is on the way?

Guess what? EA Sports just dropped a bombshell announcement out of nowhere: UFC 5 is officially in the works! It turns out that the recent addition of UFC 4 to Xbox Free Play Days for Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold subscribers was no coincidence after all.

Believe it or not, EA Sports’ UFC series kicked off in 2014, a whopping 21 years after the MMA organization was established. Since then, these games have gained quite a following.

Unlike other sports titles like FIFA and Madden NFL, which come out every year, the UFC games don’t have a fixed release schedule due to the absence of traditional seasons. This gives the studio the freedom to take its time, with the last game hitting the shelves way back in August 2020.

The news of UFC 5 was confirmed by EA Sports themselves on Twitter, but they didn’t spill much tea. They simply mentioned that the game is “coming soon” and unveiled the logo in a video. However, they did promise a full reveal in September 2023.

So, it won’t be long until we get more juicy details about the next installment. Looking back, rumors from 2021 suggested that EA was gearing up for UFC 5, and it seems those rumors were right on the money.

Although we don’t have an exact release date for UFC 5 yet, we can take a cue from the past to guess what’s in store. UFC 4 was confirmed in July 2020, just a month before its release. This time around, with the September reveal, we’re looking at a slightly longer wait.

But don’t worry, EA Sports isn’t afraid to drop the game shortly after the big reveal. It would be quite surprising if they let more than three years pass between releases. So, fingers crossed, we can probably expect UFC 5 to hit the scene later this year.

Final Words

With the news of UFC 5, the speculation is running wild. We can’t help but wonder who will be the cover athlete this time.

The world of UFC is fast-paced, with new rising stars emerging all the time. It could be anyone’s game, and that’s what makes it so intriguing.
