'NCAA Football 14': OU, Stillwater, and Georgia Tech to the SEC Dynasty Mode Build Season 1, Part 18—Week 15: Oklahoma Bye Week #3 & Final Conference Standings

#8 Texas & #10 TCU try to avoid trapdoors. Army-Navy don't get their exclusive Weekend b/c NCAA 14 didn't program that, understandably.

To be fair that's really the only games of critical importance this week. TCU already has the Big XII Title with a 4-1 Conference Record as Iowa State, Kansas State, and Kansas fell to 3-2 Conference Records. But TCU needs to avoid FCS Embarrassment to have an outside shot at the 8 Team Playoff Version. For the BCS Version they might have a BCS Bid locked up from the At Large Bids, but we'll see.

When I advertised the Bedlam Article as Texas almost having #8 rapped up possibly setting up a #RedRiverRematch in the 8 Team Playoff, I forgot that they had another game, but it's against now defunct-in-real-life, Idaho, at home. Oddly Texas has an extra loss compared to TCU.

I'm not going to come up with a full slate of alternate Bowl Games for the 4 Team CFP & 8 Team CFP btw. If I had more time on my hands I might have. But as is I'll probably either focus only on the Playoffs only or just fill out the New Years Six and call it good. Alright here we go Week 15 Scores:

FCS Midwest 7 @ Louisiana-Monroe 28

Texas-El Paso 35 @ Houston 48

FCS West 21 @ #10 TCU 28 (TCU's scare probably won't help enough in the polls and actually may hurt their chance, but we'll see.)

FCS Northwest 10 @ Texas Tech 38

FCS West 21 @ Kansas State 27 (sadly K-State fair no better.)

FCS Midwest 13 @ Troy 35

Memphis 28 @ UConn 21

Army 35 @ Navy 28

Idaho 3 @ #8 Texas 31 (welp Texas probably in the 8 Team Tournament, but are they awkwardly coming to Norman?? Time will tell.)

Louisiana-Lafayette 23 @ South Alabama 0

FCS Northwest 16 @ North Texas 21

FCS East 7 @ Baylor 26

FCS Northwest 6 @ #18 Iowa State 38

Rice 14 @ SMU 31

Texas State 21 @ Texas-San Antonio 38

FCS East 3 @ Kansas 28 (frustratingly Kansas finish an 8-3 Season that defies reality and destroys simulation credibility despite the schedule they played. Wonder how bad they'll get throttled in their Bowl Game.)

Now we'll go through the normal routine, minus SEC Players of the Week of course, because no SEC Teams played this week, before I reveal the Final Conference Standings:

Overall Players of the Week:

Louisiana-Monroe CB Corey Straughter 2 Tackles, TFL, 4 ATK, 2 INTs in 28-7 Win versus FCS Midwest.

Houston QB D'Eriq King 26-42, 439 Yds; 12 Rush, 130 Yards, 5 Total TDs in 48-35 Win vs Texas-El Paso. (If the Transfer Portal were in-play on NCAA Football 14 the now Miami (FL) Man would probably still be hot property, but as is he's probably finishing his Career in Houston if I decide to play Season 2.)

Heisman Watch: (all 5 Candidates didn't play, so...it's the same.)

1st: Jalen Hurts

2nd: Lamical Perine HB Florida

3rd: Tru Wilson HB Michigan

4th: J.J. Taylor HB Arizona

5th: Deshawn McClease HB Virginia Tech

BCS Rankings for Conference Championship Weekend:

The Top 5 all have Conference Championships to Play Still:

#1 Oklahoma

#2 Virgina Tech

#3 Fresno State

#4 Ohio

#5 Notre Dame, 1 Loss

#6 Nebraska, 1 Loss (Nebraska 2nd to ND in Big Ten West. So they're Idle.)

#7 Georgia, 1 Loss (If I screw up our Rose Bowl Revenge Game it may cost us the BCS, but 4 Team & 8 Team Playoffs seem locked. #KnocksOnWood.)

#8 Texas, 2 Losses (to us & #10 TCU, but I guess TCU scheduling 3 FCS Schools is holding them back)

#9 Arizona, 1 Loss (somehow the Pac-12's highest rated team isn't involved in their Conference Title Game, bonkers.)

#10 TCU, 1 Loss to #18 Iowa State.

#11 Oregon, 1 Loss

#12 Utah, 1 Loss (Oregon v Utah for 8 Team Playoff Spot Potentially??)

#13 Michigan State, 2 Losses (the Top 13, my inner Swiftie giggles, & #16 Clemson seem to be the only teams with a shot as Michigan State gets Notre Dame in Indianapolis & Clemson get a Redemption Chance against Virginia Tech in Charlotte.)

#14 Michigan, 3 Losses

#15 LSU, 3 Losses (the real life champs lost out with losses to us, #10 TCU, and #21 Texas A&M. Of course their breakout campaign was surprising enough in real life that their ratings in the community roster probably aren't high enough)

#16 Clemson, 2 Losses to #20 Miami (FL) & South Carolina both in November so even with a ACC Title would the bad momentum mess up their BCS/CFP ranking??

#17 Missouri, 3 Losses, former Big 8/12 Foe surprises in the SEC West making us look good.

#18 Iowa State, 3 Losses

#19 Louisville, 4 Losses

#20 Miami (FL), 3 Losses

#21 Mississippi State, 4 Losses

#22 Texas A&M, 3 Losses (so for the record we played #22, #21, #15, #8, #17, and Alabama didn't even make the Final BCS Rankings with 5 Losses. Despite 5 Loss Pittsburgh. Not bad with #7 to go.)

#23 Toledo, 3 Losses

#24 Pittsburgh, 5 Losses

#25 West Virginia, 4 Losses

Final Conference Standings:

ACC North:

#2 Virgina Tech 12-0, 9-0

#19 Louisville 8-4, 6-3

#25 West Virginia 8-4, 6-3

Maryland 6-6, 4-5

#24 Pittsburgh 7-5, 4-5 (losing Conference Record & BCS Ranked, ??)

Syracuse 6-6, 3-6

Virginia 6-6, 3-6 (Thank Goodness for Boston College, eh, Tiki & Ronde.)

Boston College 5-7, 2-7

ACC South:

#16 Clemson 10-2, 8-1

#20 Miami (FL) 9-3, 7-2

NC State 7-5, 5-4

UCF 7-5, 4-5 (Sadly probably what Scott Frost's Self Proclaimed Champs & Josh Heupel's Current Team would probably have to expect in the ACC.)

Florida State 6-6, 4-5

Duke 4-8, 3-6

North Carolina 5-7, 3-6

Wake Forest 4-8, 1-8

#16 Clemson @ #2 Virgina Tech in Charlotte.

American: (but really Texas Group of 5 Teams)

North Texas 7-5, 5-1 (Mean Green surprise to Conference Title, must've watched The Big Green, annoyingly set in Texas if memory serves, for luck, lmao.)

Texas State 8-4, 4-2

SMU 7-5, 3-3

Houston 6-6, 3-3

Texas-San Antonio 4-8, 3-3

Texas-El Paso 7-5, 3-3

Rice 2-10, 0-6

Big 12:

#10 TCU 10-1, 4-1

#18 Iowa State 9-3, 3-2

Kansas 8-3, 3-2

Kansas State 8-4, 3-2

Baylor 6-6, 1-4

Texas Tech 5-7, 1-4

Big Ten West:

#5 Notre Dame 11-1, 8-1

#6 Nebraska 11-1, 8-1

Minnesota 8-4, 5-4

Wisconsin 6-6, 3-6

Purdue 6-6, 3-6

Iowa 5-7, 3-6

Illinois 4-8, 2-7

Northwestern 3-9, 2-7

Big Ten East:

#13 Michigan State 10-2, 7-2

#14 Michigan 9-3, 6-3

Penn State 7-5, 6-3

Kentucky 5-7, 5-4 (lost all 3 Non-Conference Games @ South Carolina, vs Florida, and @ #21 Mississippi State)

Ohio State 8-4, 5-4

Rutgers 5-7, 3-6

Indiana 4-8, 3-6

Cincinnati 5-7, 3-6 (sadly Ohio State's best 'Stillwater Candidate' out of the myriad of lesser Ohio Schools show how tough the Big Ten would be on them. While #4 Ohio got the benefit of staying Group of 5.)

#13 Michigan State @ #5 Notre Dame in Indianapolis.

C-USA West:

Tulsa 10-2, 9-0 (Our in-state PPV Buddies Rocking the best Group of 5 Conference.)

Tulane 7-5, 6-3

Mid Tenn State 7-5, 5-4

Louisiana Tech 7-5, 5-4

Southern Miss 5-7, 4-5 (4 Conference Wins for Brett Favre's Alma Matter, lmao.)

Memphis 6-6, 4-5

Arkansas State 5-7, 3-6

UAB 0-12, 0-9 (so looking into this, I think the creators of the community roster must of mistakenly though the UAB Program was still dead and did them dirty as they were defunt after 2014 but were reestablished in 2017 and won the damn conference in 2018. Oh well.)

C-USA East:

Florida Atlantic 9-3, 7-2

Temple 9-3, 6-3

Marshall 6-6, 5-4

Western Kentucky 7-5, 5-4

Florida International 5-7, 4-5

East Carolina 4-8, 4-5

Georgia State 5-7, 3-6

USF 4-8, 2-7

Florida Atlantic @ Tulsa, 'Fighting Kiffens' against Golden Hurricane. Can't remember what I did for their Conference Championship Site though. I'll update that in the next update.

Independents:

#8 Texas 10-2

Navy 7-4

Army 7-5

BYU 6-6

UConn 4-8

New Mexico State 3-9

Idaho 1-11

MAC West:

#23 Toledo 9-3, 6-2

Miami (OH) 8-4, 6-2

Eastern Michigan 8-4, 6-2

Northern Illinois 6-6, 4-4

Ball State 5-7, 3-5

Central Michigan 5-7, 3-5

Western Michigan 4-8, 3-5

MAC East:

#4 Ohio 12-0, 8-0 (don't get how Ohio is #4 & Fresno State is #3 when Fresno only played 11 Games??)

Old Dominion 7-5, 5-3

Kent State 5-7, 4-4

Bowling Green 4-8, 3-5

Akron 5-7, 3-5

UMass 2-10, 1-7

Buffalo 2-10, 1-7

#23 Toledo @ #4 Ohio, can't remember this CCG Site either tbh.

MWC Mountain:

Utah State 9-2, 7-1

New Mexico 6-6, 5-4

Air Force 7-5, 5-4 (frustratingly Air Force-Navy wasn't scheduled, but Air Force lost to Army 41-44 in OT. But Navy beat Army, so President's Trophy trapped in the Oval Office??)

Boise State 4-8, 3-6 (well this performance doesn't inspire any Boise to Pac-12 Momentum. And frankly if I can see them pummeled in their own Conference there's no point.)

Colorado State 3-9, 3-6

Wyoming 2-10, 2-7

MWC West:

#3 Fresno State 11-0, 8-0

Nevada 8-4, 6-3

UNLV 6-6, 5-4

San Diego State 7-5, 4-5

Hawai'i 4-8, 3-6 (wish the Rainbow Warriors were good enough for a Pac-14 or 16 as well, bu they fell on their face as well.)

San Jose State 3-9, 2-7

Utah State @ #3 Fresno State, don't know if I should keep saying it, but I don't remember what I did with this CCG Site either.

Pac-12 North:

#11 Oregon 11-1, 9-0

Cal 6-6, 4-5

Washington State 7-5, 4-5

Washington 5-7, 3-6

Stanford 4-8, 3-6

Oregon State 4-8, 2-7

Pac-12 South:

#12 Utah 11-1, 9-0

#9 Arizona 11-1, 8-1 (as things stand somehow the Pac-12 can't even make the 8 Team Playoff, haha. But given how many teams play this week somebody's probably getting in.)

USC 5-7, 4-5

UCLA 4-8, 3-6

Colorado 5-7, 3-6

Arizona State 4-8, 2-7

#12 Utah @ #11 Oregon, can't remember if I left Best Conference Record Hosts or set it for San Francisco. Given both are 9-0 if it's the former should be Oregon hosting based on the BCS Rankings.

SEC West:

#1 Oklahoma 12-0, 9-0

#15 LSU 9-3, 7-2

#17 Missouri 9-3, 6-3

#22 Texas A&M 9-3, 6-3

#21 Mississippi State 8-4, 5-4

Stillwater 4-7, 3-6 (I suppose 3 Conference Wins isn't the worst little brother could've done, but based on their team talent irl they should've done better.)

Ole Miss 4-8, 2-7

Arkansas 3-9, 1-8

SEC East:

#7 Georgia 11-1, 8-1

Alabama 7-5, 5-4 (maybe, just maybe Bama dominates SEC West Schools and the East just looks weak because Bama & Auburn currently aren't in it?? Just a thought SEC Fans. Or maybe the random chance of NCAA Football 14 hit Bama harder than Mississippi State hit Tua irl.)

Florida 8-4, 5-4

Georgia Tech 7-5, 4-5 (so naysayers have pointed out how bad and unrealistic having GT back in the SEC is given the Atlanta School for the Atlanta-Based Conference doesn't add any new eyeballs for TV $$$. Fair point, but it was still a fun experiment. I suppose my best argument atm would be that COVID-19's killing the Non-Conference Georiga Showdown this year. But dunno if that's enough for either side to think about it. Might have to swap teams around if I do Season 2, but for now GT over-achieved in the SEC East.)

South Carolina 6-6, 4-5 (the unlikely #16 Clemson Slayers celebrate Bowl Elligibility, but there's a glut of 6-6 Teams. And the Bowl Season's turned upside down by my Custom Conferences. Time will tell if they're in Bowl Season.)

Tennessee 7-5, 4-5

Auburn 4-8, 2-7

Vanderbilt 3-9, 1-8

#7 Georgia @ #1 Oklahoma in Nashville. If I do Season 2 I'll rotate to New Orleans, and back to Atlanta for Season 3 like I discussed in Part 1.

Sun Belt:

Louisiana-Monroe 7-5, 2-1

Troy 8-4, 2-1

Louisiana-Lafayette 6-6, 1-2

South Alabama 5-7, 1-1

So might try to start the Conference Championship Games right now to help get that one in the Vocal Review Queue Quicker. Especially since I have the motivation atm, haha. So if you've read through this season thank you so much. And while playing this through I've gone back and forth on what OU should actually be thinking going into the next Conference TV Negotiations a.k.a. Realignment Cycle. As much as desperately want OU-Texas to Return to Non-Conference Status, COVID-19 would've killed the Red River Rivalry this year if we really were playing in this universe, so...I guess I'm saying I'm a fan having some fun in the video game world and I'm glad it's not my decision to make. Til next time, stay safe Vocal Community.
