Getting hosed by our illegal touching that should've have been called.

I kid of course, but just like the game in real life Kansas State is proven rank quality without getting the respect from either major poll. Like I mentioned in my re-issue of the Intial Setup and Schedule, I screwed up putting this one in Norman when we played in Manhattan in real life. But we march on anyhow out of right the wrong real life gave us.

OU Qtrs: 14, 31, 7, 3

Scoring Plays:

1st Quarter:

4:21 TD OU: K. Brooks, 14 Yd pass from J. Hurts (G. Brkic kick)

0:17 TD OU: J. Hurts, 3 Yd run (G. Brkic kick)

2nd Quarter:

6:11 TD OU: J. Hurts, 3 Yd run (G. Brkic kick)

3:42 TD OU: J. Hurts, 13 Yd run (G. Brkic kick)

2:28 TD OU: J. Hurts, 4 Yd run (G. Brkic kick)

0:58 TD OU: C. Rambo, 11 Yd pass from J. Hurts (G. Brkic kick)

0:02 FG OU: G. Brkic, 55 Yd FG

3rd Quarter:

3:21 TD OU: K. Brooks, 4 Yd run (G. Brkic kick)

4th Quarter:

1:13 FG OU: G. Brkic, 57 Yd FG

So as you might imagine I subbed Jalen Hurts, CeeDee Lamb, and Grant Calcaterra out at halftime per my usual protection of key players routine. Then after the 3rd Quarter I even subbed out Kennedy Brooks after his really productive day. Kansas State did get into the Redzone in the 4th Quarter, but we stopped them on 4th & Goal as they elected not to kick the 'at least we scored' Field Goal.

Team Stats:

First Downs: KSU 9, OU 23

Total Offense: KSU 130, OU 556

Rushes-Yards-TD: KSU 25-58-0, OU 29-201-5

Comp-Att-TD: KSU 9-18-0, OU 20-28-2

Passing Yards: KSU 72, OU 355

3rd Down Conv: KSU 3-11 (27%), OU 4-6 (66%)

4th Down Conv: KSU 0-1, OU 1-1

Red Zone-TD-FG: KSU 1-0-0, OU 7-7-0

Turnovers: KSU 1, OU 0

Fumbles Lost: KSU 1, OU 0

PR Yards: KSU 15, OU 94

KR Yards: KSU 40, OU 0

Total Yards: KSU 185, OU 650

Punts-Average: KSU 7-53.7, OU 1-48.0

T.O.P: KSU 9:37, OU 18:23

OU Passing:

J. Hurts RAT 221.8, 16-22 for 312 Yds, 2 TDs, 72%

T. Mordecai RAT 126.8, 4-6 for 43 Yds, 66%

So I haven't really been bothering with giving y'all recruiting updates since we're probably not going to push this series beyond when all the real players are gone, but we did get our first commits in our class this week. In an addition by subtraction to other teams we got the #1 Overall 5 Star QB Stephen Leak and a 4 Star CB as our first 2 Recruits that visited this game. Our only other team need for this class is DT, so that's where I've been focusing.

OU Rushing:

J. Hurts 12 for 116 Yds, 4 TDs, Long of 31, 9 YAC

Jalen equals the school record of 23 Rushing TDs in a Season, so clearly my good stick skills are making our part of this a bit unrealistic. But then again real life Jalen has 18 this year with guaranteed 2 more games to play, hopefully 3. So he could get this record for real.

K. Brooks 7 for 30 Yds, 1 TD, Long of 8, 4 YAC

T. Mordecai 3 for 25 Yds, Long of 23, 27 YAC

T. Sermon 3 for 8 Yds, Long of 6, 5 YAC

I'm considering putting Sermon further down the depth chart for next week as K. Brooks has been the better running back in both real life and our series. Not to mention Sermon's injury in real life.

R. Stevenson 2 for 12 Yds, Long of 7, 10 YAC

J. Hall 1 for 3 Yds

M. Jones 1 for 7 Yds

OU Receiving:

K. Brooks 4 for 41 Yds, 1 TD, Long of 14, 22 YAC

C. Rambo 4 for 45 Yds, 1 TD, Long of 17, 33 YAC

G. Calcaterra 4 for 124 Yds, Long of 57, 27 YAC

N. Basquine 3 for 49 Yds, Long of 25, 20 YAC

C. Lamb 3 for 80 Yds, Long of 63, 24 YAC

L. Morris 1 for 10 Yds, 6 YAC

T. Sermon 1 for 6 Yds, 9 YAC

OU Defensive Player of the Game:

K. Mann 6 Tack, 5 Solo, 2 TFL, 2 Sack, FF, FR

And if your wondering K. Brooks had all 94 of the Punt Return Yards hence part of my endorsement of his performance.

KSU Passing:

J. Lewis RAT 83.6 9-18 for 72 Yds, 50%

KSU Rushing:

J. Lewis 18 for 25 Yds, Long of 13, 13 YAC

A. Barnes 7 for 33 Yds, Long of 13, 13 YAC

KSU Receiving:

N. Lenners 3 for 10 Yds, Long of 6, 1 YAC

A. Barnes 2 for 13 Yds, Long of 9, 24 YAC

D. Schoen 2 for 34 Yds, Long of 28, 5 YAC

I. Zuber 1 for 13 Yds, 0 YAC

I. Harris 1 for 2 Yds, 0 YAC

Z. Reuter 0 for 0 Yds, 1 Drop

KSU Defensive Player of the Game:

D. Goolsby 9 Solo Tack

Overall & SEC Players of the Week:

J. Hurts & K. Mann

Heisman Watch:

1st: Jalen Hurts

2nd: Tru Wilson Michigan HB 33 Rush for 154 Yds, TD; 2 Rec for 14 Yds in 23-16 Win At Indiana.

3rd: DeShawn McClease Virginia Tech HB 30 Rush for 172 Yds, 2 TD; 4 Rec for 93 Yds, TD in 38-14 Win At Wake Forest.

4th: D'Andre Swift Georgia HB 25 Rush for 214 Yds, 3 TDs; 2 Rec for 58 Yds, TD in 42-17 Win At Vanderbilt.

5th: J.J. Taylor Arizona HB 19 Rush for 88 Yds, 1 Rec for 12 Yds, TD in 21-47 Loss At Utah.

Initial BCS Rankings for Week 9:

#1 Oklahoma

#2 Clemson, we've got the same number of points at .997 so it's probably largely just that we haven't had a bye week yet pushing us to #1.

#3 West Virginia

#4 Virginia Tech, 2-4 all from the ACC oddly as we gripe like hell about Clemson's real life schedule. Lots of movement still to come.

#5 TCU

#6 Nebraska

#7 Notre Dame, 1 Loss

#8 Georgia, 1 Loss

#9 Miami (FL), 1 Loss

#10 Missouri

#11 Texas, 1 Loss

#12 Fresno State

#13 South Carolina, 2 Losses

#14 Ohio State, 2 Losses

#15 Wisconsin, 1 Loss

#16 Arizona, 1 Loss

#17 Oregon, 1 Loss

#18 Kentucky, 3 Losses

#19 LSU, 2 Losses

#20 Utah, 1 Loss

#21 Michigan, 2 Losses

#22 Washington State, 2 Losses

#23 Alabama, 4 Losses. Yes even the BCS has Alabama ranked with a 3-4 Record. Go figure.

#24 Mississippi State, 3 Losses

#25 Florida, 2 Losses

So with the Oklahoma-Utah Controversy heating up in real life I think when we get to the end I'll do the full BCS Bowls for the in-Dynasty Season, a 4 Team Playoff from the BCS, and an 8 Team Playoff from the BCS. Boomer Sooner and thank you for your interest.
