Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer was taken for scans after complaining of back pain on the penultimate day of the fourth and final Test against Australia here on Sunday.

The recurrence of Shreyas Iyer's back injury has become a cause of worry for India in the ongoing fourth and final Test against Australia, and has also raised doubts over his availability for the ODI series against the visitors, which begins from March 17.

Iyer didn't come out to bat in India's first innings on Sunday in Ahmedabad and was taken for diagnostic scans.

With the ODI World Cup in India being the most important tournament of the year and Shreyas set to lead KKR in the IPL, he might be advised to rest for some time.
