In roughly about the spring or early summer of 2007, I booted up a copy of the Sims 2 for the first time. I had an aunt who had actively played the first game and its expansions, and had gotten excited to show me the next installment, sitting me in front of the computer to play it and see the lives and subsequent drama all sims could go through. I, the ever probably overly creative kid that I was, who loved storytelling from an early age, was instantly hooked.

Ganondorf's is King
Ganondorf is a cool villain. Sometimes painted as a ruthless tyrant and others as a sympathetic villain in pursuit of understandable motivations, Ganondorf never fails to deliver menace and intrigue to a story in the Zelda universe he appears in. I wanted to take a minute of your time to go through his history and highlight some of what makes him engaging and special to me. In this time of video games and newer virtual reality games, I discovered I still have a love of board games, and their following and enjoyment is still very much alive. I have always loved playing board games. Growing up there was a family in the neighborhood who had a family game night, where everyone in the family needed to be home and they would play games as a family. I was invited a few times and truly enjoyed it. The idea of family game night stuck with me and a number of years ago I started the tradition with my family.

So from my previous blog you would have seen the first group of d&d-ers I played with. How there was a mixture of anxiety but also excitement before the game and how I wanted to create my own game. Now I didn't know where to start with creating my first game so I followed in some online D&D players footsteps, and began my adventure with the campaign The mines of Phandalin. This campaign was apparently the best first game to play with Dungeons and Dragons 5e when starting out to be a Dungeon master (DM), i was very anxious about running my first game and decided before I should run a game i should aske some D&D players that I know have been playing for a while, so I decided to ask the Yorkshirerolls crew (@yorkshirerolls on twitter and Twitch) when they did a Q&A session at the end of one of their games. Death Stranding, Covid, and a people struggling to find meaning in a disaster.
Death by Covid is a slow painful affair. About 2-5% of Covid patients die 2 weeks to several months after positive diagnosis is confirmed. Usually, by the time they’re dead, hospitals have tried everything from amputations to ventilators to keep these patients alive. Covid lowers the amount of oxygen in the blood, forcing the body to cut off oxygen supply to limbs and non-vital functions. Sepsis, infection, and decaying tissue forced many Covid patients to endure traumatic and painful surgeries, surgeries that often proved fruitless. Talk to anyone, and chances are they know someone who succumbed to Covid-19. Never before in our nation’s modern history has one affliction claimed such a vast number of human lives in such a short span of time. By comparison the opioid epidemic claimed 500,000 lives over the span of 20 years. People of all ages, nationalities, races, and religious affiliations crumbled under the weight of severe Covid infection.
