Ideas for a Dynasty Warriors style game
I know many of you are familiar with this game along with Samurai Warriors, Sengkou Basara and how they did it with Berserk and something similar, but not like it with the Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War and Warriors: Legends of Troy
Whether you love/hate the series or just play on occasion like any other gamer, you will have noticed that Samurai Warriors, Sengoku Basara, Dynasty Warriors, Bladestorm, and Warriors: Legends of Troy that they take place during time periods that really did happen.
So I was thinking, what about other time periods that could have a Dynasty Warriors theme to it? or even ideas that have never been done in famous fictitious pieces like Star Wars?
Here are my ideas.
Wars of the Roman Empire
When was the last time there was a video game with a Roman Empire theme? This is why I am suggesting this.
Such examples that I can think of would be the Carthaginian Wars and the wars of Julius Caesar, including the conflict following his assassination. Then of course there are the fights against the Germainans and the Conquest of Britannia during the reign of Claudius
Gladiator matches could also be a part of the game-play to level up the character, gain weapons, armor, horses and even additional troops and allies.
Who knows what else there might be? Maybe even a situation where Rome conquered the world and did not adopt Christianity.
Star Wars
I am well aware of the Battlefront games of Star Wars. But what if the series was given a Dynasty Warriors theme?
Playing as soldiers of the Empire, Republic, Rebel Alliance, Trade Federation, Resistance or even the First Order would definitely make things interesting.
Their also could be one that takes place in the Old Republic. Having the Sith vs the Jedi would again make things interesting.
The Mongol Empire
I know many of you are aware of the Great Khan Temujin (otherwise known as Genghis Khan) and how his sons and grandsons created the Mongol Empire.
So why not have a video game about the great warriors who built the world's largest empire?
Like Bladestorm you character can control cavalry, infantry, spear-men or even siege engines when attacking fortresses.
Warhammer 40k/Fantasy
Many of you are aware of the Warhammer 40k/Fantasy series and how it has not had a good run as of late.
Which is why I suggest they should give either genre's a Dynasty Warriors style game.
With 40k there could be the Battle of Macragge playing as the Ultramarines fighting against the Tyranids or the Crimson Fists against the Orks during the Battle of the Rynn Worlds. Let's also not forget about the events before/during/after the Horus Heresy.
With the fantasy genre of the series it could have battles and wars ranging from the time even before Sigmar to the events that are taking place currently.
The Crusades
I am well aware that the Crusades back in the Middle Ages was a controversial conflict that pretty much gave the Islamic world a reason to hate the Western world and gave people a reason to be less Christian.
That piece aside, players can take control of Saladin or Richard the Lionheart.
The Siege of Jerusalem, the Battle of Antioch, the Battle of Hattin and many other battles within this controversial era of conflict would be made available.
The Byzantine Empire would also be an option.
Ancient Egypt
How can you not want a Dynasty Warriors style game that takes place in Ancient Egypt?
The events of the game could take place during the reign of the Hyksos and the revolt of Egyptian peoples against their rule.
The idea could also involve the gods of Egypt aiding the humans against Apep, the God of Chaos.
