'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered' Is Going Stand-Alone. Are Current Owners Being Left Out?

So, there's no doubt that, like me, many of you have bought the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition when the game launched almost a year ago.

A year ago many of us decided to shell out a solid $79.99 USD in order to get the best experience possible. The allure of the bundle? The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered portion of the game. And now we are realizing that this is happening? We're pretty much going to become disgruntled with what's happening.

While many of us are standing or sitting there shocked, it seems Activision is about to give us a bit more of something to be disgruntled about as far as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is concerned.

It's coming out Tuesday for $39.99 USD with a $14.99 USD DLC for the Variety Map Pack, which includes a few more maps. What about those of us who already own the DLC option for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare?

While there is certainly a circle of us wondering if the game will be free to existing owners, it seems Activision has remained quiet on this fact, and for some of us - we need that itch scratched now. While many of us will be waiting to find out if we will get to take on our adventure as Soap McTavish and the squad, we can only wonder what will await us, and until then? We may have to pony up the new cost for the game plus the DLC.

If they do give it to us free? We'll be lucky.

Why Buy It If Call of Duty: World War II Comes Out in November?

While that's a great question, there is something to show that Activision is taking care of fans for their older titles. Whether it's Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Black Ops III, or even the latest two titles. The franchise remains relevant even years post titular release. Activision is well aware that fans will play the older instalments whether they are current or not and even post DLC release.

Luckily for us, that means the purchase isn't one we should be annoyed with. Instead, our investments are right where they belong thanks to what Activision is doing to keep the fanbase involved and current. If Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered or Call of Duty: World War II will be great purchases for those fans of the franchise. Even though it seems hard for some of you, there is a good chance that the game will still be worthwhile if you want to get online.
