Blizzard Launches 'The Art Of Overwatch' On Amazon — And It's Glorious

With the one-year anniversary of Blizzard Entertainment's acclaimed FPS Overwatch on the horizon, it's not surprising that the fans are always looking for more. Now, the developers have done everything in their power to give players exactly what they've been asking for: more.

With new characters, tweaks and updates, #Blizzard has worked tirelessly to deliver content that matches the caliber of work we're used to from the studio that's gifted us with StarCraft, Diablo, World of Warcraft and Heroes of the Storm. When Overwatch was released, it took the gaming community by storm because it was the first game of its kind for the studio, and an immense amount of time and creative energy went into its development.

To honor that dedication and creative process, Blizzard announced this weekend it would release a special art book that will offer a look into the creative process of bringing Overwatch to the fans.

The Art of Overwatch is currently available for pre-order on Amazon and there are two editions to choose from: Standard ($49.99) and Limited/Collectors ($100.00) which will release on October 24, 2017. Fans who pick up the art book are in store for a beautiful behind-the-scenes look at how the game came into existence — like a deep dive into the wellspring of awesomeness that is Overwatch.

The art book will have everything, from character designs to intricate world mapping, as well as quotes from the game's developers and artists. The books are the same, regardless of the edition you choose, but with the Limited Edition comes a few extra perks:

• Clamshell box with magnetic closure.
• Acetate slipcover featuring the game's most popular character, Tracer.
• Two portfolios containing a total of three prints chosen by the Overwatch team.

Overwatch boasts millions of players and has garnered critical acclaim, winning several Golden Joystick Awards, including for Best Original Game, as well as taking home multiple trophies from the 2016 Game Awards.

It appears that Blizzard is doubling down, with the recent announcement that the first volume of comics created on the official Overwatch website will now be merged into an Anthology Edition ($19.99), available on Amazon.
