'Apex Legends' - The New "Nite"
The New Royale
A New "Nite" In Town
There is a new player in town aiming for the thrown in Battle Royale games, and it's name is Apex Legends! Apex Legends launched on February 4, 2019. It's developed by Respawn Entertainment, published by Electronic Arts, and has rapidly become one the biggest battle royale games since Fornite. Eight hours after its inception, the game surpassed one million unique players, 2.5 million players after 24 hours, and currently there are nearly 50 million players in the game, as of March 2019.
Legends
The game currently features one major map with nine Legends to choose from to go into battle. Each legend is equipped with one tactical ability, one passive ability, and one ultimate ability. Using the abilities at the right time can be a determining factor whether your team makes it to the end to become champions. When making your legend selections, it is crucial that you go into the game with a team mentality.

The Ping System
The game is team-based, so it's imperative you communicate with your team. Don't have a mic? The game has a built-in communication ping system to let your team members know what's going on. One of the best features the game has is having the ability to revive your teammates during battle, something that not all other battle royale games do not have. The ping system allows you to do a couple of things like:
- Alert nearby enemies,
- Waypoint/direction suggestions,
- Alert looting areas,
- Request ammo/accessories,
- Alert banner Location,
- Alert respawn locations,
- and much more!
A True Success
Apex Legends has been such a success for Respawn and EA. The game is currently available on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC (Origin). There have also been rumors that developers have cross-platform plans as well as a launch for Andriod and iOS devices—and even the Nintendo Switch.
